This manual provides safety and reference information for your LG LED TV. Please read it carefully before operating your set and retain it for future reference.
Safety Instructions
General Precautions:
- Read all instructions before use.
- Keep instructions for future reference.
- Heed all warnings.
- Follow all instructions.
- Do not use this apparatus near water.
- Clean only with a dry cloth.
- Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
- Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus that produce heat.
- Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched.
- Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
- Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer.
- Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
- Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
Fire and Electric Shock Prevention:
- Keep candles or other items with open flames away from the product.
- Do not place the TV in environments with high humidity, near heat sources, near kitchen counters with steam or oil, or in areas exposed to rain or wind.
- Do not expose the apparatus to dripping or splashing, and do not place objects filled with liquids on or over the apparatus.
- Do not install in excessively dusty places.
- Ensure proper ventilation; do not install in a confined space or on a carpet/cushion.
- Do not block or cover the product with cloth or other materials while plugged in.
- Take care not to touch ventilation openings as they may become hot.
- Protect the power cord from physical or mechanical abuse.
- Do not move the TV while the power cord is plugged in.
- Do not use a damaged or loosely fitting power cord.
- Grasp the plug when unplugging the power cord; do not pull the cord.
- Do not connect too many devices to the same AC power outlet.
- The power plug is the disconnecting device; it must remain readily accessible.
- Do not let children climb or cling onto the TV.
- For outdoor antenna grounding, follow relevant electrical codes.
- TVs with a three-prong grounded AC plug must be connected to a three-prong grounded AC outlet.
- Never touch the apparatus or antenna during a lightning storm.
- Ensure the power cord is connected securely to the TV and wall socket.
- Do not insert metallic or inflammable objects into the product.
- Do not touch the end of the power cord while it is plugged in.
- If the product is damaged, or if water or other substances enter the product, or if you smell smoke or other odors, unplug immediately and contact customer service.
- Do not use high voltage electrical equipment near the TV.
- Do not attempt to modify the product without written authorization from LG Electronics.
- Use only authorized attachments/accessories.
- Never disassemble the AC adapter or power cord.
- Handle the adapter carefully to avoid dropping or striking it.
- Do not touch the TV with wet hands. Ensure the power plug is dry.
Batteries:
- Store batteries out of reach of children.
- Do not short circuit, disassemble, or expose batteries to fire or excessive heat.
- Risk of fire or explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
Moving the TV:
- Turn off, unplug, and remove all cables before moving.
- Use at least two people to carry larger TVs.
- Do not press or put stress on the front panel.
- Keep packing material out of reach of children.
- Do not allow impact shock or objects to fall into the product or onto the screen.
- Do not press strongly upon the panel with a hand or sharp object, or scratch it.
Cleaning:
- Unplug the power cord and wipe gently with a soft/dry cloth.
- Do not spray water or liquids directly on the TV.
- Do not use chemicals such as glass cleaner, air freshener, insecticide, lubricants, wax, thinner, or alcohol.
Preparing
Lifting and Moving the TV
To prevent scratching or damage during moving or lifting:
- It is recommended to move the TV in its original box or packing material.
- Before moving, disconnect the power cord and all cables.
- When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you.
- Hold the side and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Avoid holding the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.
- Use at least two people for large TVs.
- When transporting by hand, hold the TV as shown in the illustration. [Illustration showing correct grip for carrying TV]
- Do not expose the TV to jolts or excessive vibration.
- Keep the TV upright; never turn it on its side or tilt it.
- Be careful not to damage protruding buttons.
- Avoid touching the screen at all times.
- Do not place the product on the floor with its front facing down without padding.
- When attaching the stand, place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface.
Mounting on the Table
- Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table. Leave a minimum of 10 cm (4 inches) space from the wall for proper ventilation. [Diagram showing TV on table with 10cm clearance]
- Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.
Precautions for Table Mounting:
- Do not apply foreign substances to screw parts during assembly.
- If installing on a stand, take actions to prevent overturning.
- Use only manufacturer-approved items for safety and lifespan.
- Damages or injuries from using unapproved items are not covered by warranty.
- Ensure screws are fastened tightly.
- Do not fasten screws with excessive force to avoid stripping.
Securing TV to the Wall
- Insert and tighten eye-bolts or TV brackets and bolts on the back of the TV. Remove any existing bolts first.
- Mount the wall brackets to the wall, matching the location of the wall bracket and the eye-bolts on the TV.
- Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope or cable, keeping it parallel to the flat surface. [Diagram showing wall mounting bracket attachment]
Mounting to the Wall:
- Attach an optional wall mount bracket to the rear of the TV and install it on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor.
- For installation on other building materials, contact qualified personnel. LG recommends professional installation.
- Use a wall mount bracket that secures the device adequately to the wall, allowing space for external device connectivity. Connect all cables before installing fixed wall mounts.
- Remove the stand before wall mounting by reversing the stand attachment process.
- Refer to 'Separate Purchase' for information on screws and wall mount brackets.
- If mounting to a wall, attach VESA standard mounting interface (optional parts) to the back of the product. Fix it carefully to prevent dropping.
- Do not install the TV by hanging power and signal cables on the back.
- Cover stand holes with tape to prevent dust and insects from entering (depending on model). [Diagram showing stand hole cover]
Wall Mounting Bracket
Ensure screws and wall mount bracket meet VESA standards. Standard dimensions for wall mount kits are described in the table below.

Antenna/Cable
Connect an antenna, cable, or cable box to watch TV. Illustrations may differ from actual items; an RF cable is optional.
- Make sure not to bend the copper wire of the RF cable. [Diagram showing RF cable connection]
- Complete all connections between devices, then connect the power cord to the power outlet.
- Use a signal splitter to use 2 TVs or more.
- DTV Audio Supported Codec: MPEG, Dolby Digital.
- This TV cannot receive Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) broadcasts directly as related standards have not been confirmed.
Starting TV
Turning on the TV
You can operate TV functions using the button.
- Using button:
- Power On (Press)
- Power Off (Press and Hold)
- Menu Control (Press)
- Menu Selection (Press and Hold)
Note: When the TV is turned on for the first time, initialization may take approximately one minute.
Adjusting the menu
When the TV is turned on, press the [Menu] button. You can adjust menu items using the navigation buttons.
- [Power Off] button: Turns the power off.
- [Volume Up] button: Adjusts the volume level.
- [Input Source] button: Changes the input source.
- [Channel Up/Down] buttons: Scrolls through saved channels.
Note: Your TV's OSD may differ slightly. Menus and options may vary based on input source or model. New features may be added in the future.
Inserting the battery
To replace batteries, open the battery cover, replace batteries (1.5 V AAA) matching the + and - ends to the label inside the compartment, and close the battery cover. [Diagram showing battery insertion]
- Do not mix new and old batteries.
- Failure to match correct polarities may cause batteries to burst or leak.
- Dispose of batteries properly according to local regulations.
- Do not expose batteries to excessive heat.
Using Remote Control
(Depending on model)
The descriptions in this manual are based on the remote control buttons. Please read carefully and use the TV correctly.
- Power: Turns the TV on or off.
- Dash (-): Inserts a - between numbers (e.g., 2-1).
- Number buttons (0-9): Enters numbers.
- LIST: Accesses the saved channel list.
- INFO: Displays program event according to time scheduler.
- INFO: Shows information on the current program.
- Recalls preferred subtitle in digital mode.
- SAP: Enables Secondary Audio Program Feature.
- QUICK ACCESS: Accesses the [Edit Quick Access] feature to enter a specified app or Live TV by pressing and holding number buttons.
- Volume buttons: Adjusts the volume level.
- Channel buttons: Scrolls through saved channels.
- Home: Accesses the Home menu.
- Home: Launches the last used apps.
- Input: Changes the input source.
- OK: Selects menus or options and confirms input. Accesses [Magic Explorer] when pressing and holding on text in [TV Guide], [Settings], [Sports Alert], or [Art Gallery].
- More actions: Displays more remote control functions.
- Mute: Mutes all sounds.
- Mute: Accesses the [Accessibility] menu.
- Navigation button (Up/Down/Left/Right): Scrolls through menus or options.
- Q. Settings: Accesses the Quick Settings.
- Back: Returns to the previous screen.
- Search: Checks for recommended content.
- You can watch TV or LG Channels.
- Clears on-screen displays and returns to last input viewing.
- Control buttons: Control buttons for media contents.
- Starts to record (Only Time Machine Ready supported models).
- Streaming Service buttons: Connects to Video Streaming Service.
Note: Some buttons and services may not be provided depending on models or regions. Press and hold the button for more than 1 second.
Connections
Connect various external devices to the TV and switch input modes to select an external device. Refer to the manual provided with each device for more information.
HDMI
- When connecting the HDMI cable, turn off the product and external devices.
- Supported HDMI Audio format (Depending on model): True HD (48 kHz), Dolby Digital / Dolby Digital Plus (32 kHz / 44.1 kHz / 48 kHz), PCM (32 kHz / 44.1 kHz / 48 kHz / 96 kHz / 192 kHz).
- If the connected device supports HDMI Deep Color, your picture may be clearer. If not, connect to a different HDMI port or turn off the TV's [HDMI Deep Color] setting. [Instructions for enabling/disabling HDMI Deep Color]
- Use a certified cable with the HDMI logo attached.
- Using a non-certified HDMI cable may result in no display or connection errors.
- Recommended HDMI cable types: 3 m (9.84 feet) or less, Ultra High Speed HDMI®/™ cable.
USB
- Some USB Hubs may not work. If a USB device connected via a USB Hub is not detected, connect it directly to the TV's USB port.
- For optimal connection, HDMI cables and USB devices should have bezels less than 10 mm (0.39 inches) thick and 18 mm (0.7 inches) width. [Diagram showing bezel dimensions]
- Use an extension cable that supports USB 2.0 if the USB cable or flash drive does not fit.
External Devices
- Supported external devices include Blu-ray players, HD receivers, DVD players, VCRs, audio systems, USB storage devices, PCs, gaming devices, and other external devices.
- If recording a TV program on a Blu-ray/DVD recorder or VCR, connect the TV signal input cable through the recorder/VCR. Refer to the connected device's manual for recording information.
- External device connections may differ slightly from illustrations.
- Connect external devices to the TV regardless of the order of the TV port.
- If connecting a gaming device, use the cable supplied with it.
- Refer to the external equipment's manual for operating instructions.
- In PC mode, noise may occur due to resolution, pattern, contrast, or brightness. Adjust settings in the [Picture] menu to improve clarity.
- Some USB Hubs may not work. Connect USB devices directly to the TV if not detected via a hub.
- When connecting via wired LAN, use a CAT 7 cable.
- The TV may operate without a set-top-box from a multichannel video programming distributor (MVPD).
- To obtain RS-232C external control setup information, visit www.lg.com and download the manual.
- Do not drop the product or let it fall over when connecting external devices.
- Ensure connecting cables are long enough when connecting external devices like game consoles.
Troubleshooting
- Cannot control the TV with the remote control: Check for obstructions, replace batteries.
- No image display and no sound: Check if the TV is on, power cord connection, and wall outlet functionality.
- The TV turns off suddenly: Check power control settings, auto-off function, and inactivity timer.
- Abnormal Display: Minor pixel defects are normal. Avoid touching the screen for extended periods.
- Generated Sound: Cracking noises are due to plastic thermal contraction. Humming/buzzing noises are from the switching circuit. These do not affect performance.
Cleaning Precautions:
- Do not allow liquid or foreign objects to enter gaps between the panel and guide panel.
- Wring excess water or cleaner from the cloth.
- Do not spray water or cleaner directly onto the screen.
- Spray water or cleaner onto a dry cloth to wipe the screen.

RSS-247 Requirement (For Canada)
(For product having wireless function using 5 GHz frequency bands)
- Devices operating in the 5150–5250 MHz band are for indoor use only to reduce potential interference to co-channel mobile satellite systems.
- Maximum antenna gain for devices in the 5250-5350 MHz and 5470-5725 MHz bands must comply with the e.i.r.p. limit.
- Maximum antenna gain for devices in the 5725-5850 MHz band must comply with the e.i.r.p. limits.
- For devices operating in the 5250-5350 MHz band with e.i.r.p. greater than 200 mW, antenna type(s), models(s), and worst-case tilt angle(s) necessary to remain compliant with the e.i.r.p. elevation mask requirement set forth in section 6.2.2.3 of RSS-247 shall be clearly indicated.
Users should be advised that high-power radars are allocated as primary users of the bands 5250-5350 MHz and 5650-5850 MHz and that these radars could cause interference and/or damage to LE-LAN devices.
NOTE TO CABLE/TV INSTALLER (For USA and Canada)
This reminder calls attention to Article 820-40 of the National Electric Code (U.S.A.) regarding proper grounding. The cable ground shall be connected to the building's grounding system as close to the point of cable entry as practical.

- ALWAYS use cabinets, stands, or mounting methods recommended by the manufacturer.
- ALWAYS use furniture that can safely support the television set.
- ALWAYS ensure the television set is not overhanging the edge of the supporting furniture.
- ALWAYS educate children about the dangers of climbing on furniture to reach the television set or its controls.
- ALWAYS route cords and cables so they cannot be tripped over, pulled, or grabbed.
- NEVER place a television set in an unstable location.
- NEVER place the television set on tall furniture without anchoring both the furniture and the television set to a suitable support.
- NEVER place the television set on cloth or other materials between the set and supporting furniture.
- NEVER place items that might tempt children to climb (e.g., toys, remote controls) on top of the television or furniture.
- If relocating an existing television set, apply the same considerations.

Child Safety
Proper Television Placement Matters
The Consumer Technology Industry Cares about making products safe and enjoyable. Please note that all televisions, new and old, must be supported on proper stands or installed according to manufacturer's recommendations. Televisions inappropriately situated may fall over, resulting in injury.
Tune in to Safety
- NEVER allow children to climb on or play on the television or furniture it is placed on.
- NEVER place the television on furniture that can easily be used as steps.
- ALWAYS follow the manufacturer's recommendations for safe installation.
- ALWAYS read and follow all instructions for proper use.
- ALWAYS install the television where it cannot be pushed, pulled over, or knocked down.
- ALWAYS route cords and cables so they cannot be tripped over, pulled, or grabbed.
Wall or Ceiling Mount Your Television
- ALWAYS contact your retailer about professional installation if you have doubts about mounting.
- ALWAYS use a mount recommended by the television manufacturer and certified by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL).
- ALWAYS follow all instructions supplied by the television and mount manufacturers.
- ALWAYS ensure the wall or ceiling is appropriate for mounting. Use proper anchoring systems for different wall/ceiling types. If unsure, contact a professional installer.
- A minimum of two people is required for wall or ceiling mount installation.
Moving an Older Television to a New Place in Your Home
- Special care should be made in the placement of older CRT/flat-panel televisions.
- NEVER place your older CRT/flat-panel television on a dresser where children may be tempted to use the drawers to climb.
- ALWAYS place your older CRT/flat-panel television on furniture that is sturdy and appropriate for its size and weight.
- ALWAYS make sure your older CRT/flat-panel television does not hang over the edge of your furniture.
