Safety Warnings
General Safety Precautions:
- The refrigerator operates on a 120V single-phase AC power supply with a 60Hz frequency. Use a dedicated socket (above 10A) that is reliably grounded. Do not remove the third pin (ground wire) of the power cord. Ensure the power cord plug is firmly in contact with the socket to prevent fire hazards.
- When the refrigerator is not in use, remove the door and door seal to prevent children from getting trapped inside.
- Always unplug the power before cleaning and maintenance to avoid electric shock.
- Do not place electrical appliances such as power outlets, regulators, microwave ovens, or unstable items on top of the refrigerator. Electrical appliances are not permitted inside the refrigerator unless recommended by Galanz.
- Do not pull the power cord to unplug the refrigerator. When moving the refrigerator, operate carefully. Do not roll over or damage the power cord. If the power line or plug is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer's designated repair point.
- Do not dismantle or modify the refrigerator, or damage the refrigerant line. If the refrigerant line is damaged or a combustible gas leaks, close the leakage valve, open doors and windows, and contact the manufacturer's specified repair points immediately.
- Do not place glass bottles or cans with liquid in the freezer to prevent bursting.
- Watch out for children and ensure they do not play in or on the refrigerator.
- Do not touch the cold surfaces in the freezer compartment, as this can cause frostbite due to low temperatures.
- Caution: The appliance contains a flammable refrigerant (R600a). Do not expose it to high heat, sparks, or open flames.
Precautions for Different Compartments:
- Refrigerating temperature: 39°F to 46°F. Cooked meat should not be stored for more than 4 days; fruits and vegetables should not exceed one week.
- Raw meat and seafood should be packed in separate containers and stored for no more than 3 days.
- Raw food and cooked food should be stored in separate containers to prevent bacterial contamination. Raw vegetables and fruits should not be exposed to raw meat or fish. Wrap vegetables and fruits in film and store them in the crisper.
- Before freezing food, wrap it in freezer-safe bags or containers. The freezer temperature is -0.4°F. For optimal taste and nutrition, food should not be stored in the freezer for more than three months.
Handling and Placement
Placement:
- Place the refrigerator on a flat, solid surface.
- Do not use the foam pad to elevate the refrigerator. Adjust the feet at the front to level the unit. Clockwise rotation raises the height; counterclockwise rotation lowers it.
- Avoid placing the refrigerator in wet areas or areas where temperatures may drop below 41°F.
- Ensure adequate ventilation: maintain at least 1/4 inch of space on the sides and back, and over 1 inch of space on top.
- Keep the refrigerator away from heat sources and direct sunlight to maintain optimal performance.
- Do not lift the refrigerator sideways or upside down. If tilting is necessary, the inclination should not exceed 45 degrees. Avoid using mobile pulleys on scratched floors.
- The refrigerator uses R600a refrigerant, which is flammable. Avoid collisions or violent shocks during transportation and placement to prevent damage to the refrigeration system or fire hazards.
Moving the Refrigerator:
- Before moving, unplug the power cord and remove all food.
- Secure movable parts like glass shelves, crispers, and drawers with tape. Close and tape the doors to prevent them from opening.
- Do not lift the refrigerator by the handles. Lift it from the bottom.
- Refrigerators cannot be transported upside down or laying flat. If transported incorrectly, allow the unit to stand upright for 2 hours before plugging it in.
Responsible Disposal:
- Do not dispose of the appliance with household trash at the end of its life. It contains materials that can be hazardous to the environment and human health if not disposed of properly.
- Follow local regulations for the disposal and recycling of electrical consumer goods and refrigerants. Contact local authorities for recycling facility information.
- Take care not to damage the pipework at the back of the appliance during transportation to prevent refrigerant gas escape. Render the plug useless and cut the cable directly behind the appliance to prevent misuse.
- DANGER: Risk of child entrapment. When discarding a refrigerator, remove the door and the spring action or bolt catch. Leave shelves in place to prevent children from climbing in and getting trapped.
Instruction for Usage
Initial Setup:
- After stable placement and cleaning, allow the refrigerator to stand for at least 2 hours before switching on the power.
- Ensure the refrigerator is placed in the correct location and is clean before use.
- The power cord should not be pressed by the refrigerator or other heavy objects.
- The refrigerating chamber temperature is typically 32°F to 50°F for short-term storage of fresh food like vegetables, fruits, and beverages.
- Wrap refrigerated food in plastic wrap and place it evenly on shelves to prevent odor transfer or moisture evaporation.
- Do not overfill the refrigerating chamber; allow space for cold air circulation.
- Cool hot food to room temperature before placing it in the refrigerator.
- Cut off leaves from radishes or similar foods to prevent nutrient absorption by the leaves.
- Do not exceed the freezer's freezing capacity.
- Minimize door openings to reduce cold air loss and extend storage time.
- Ensure food does not obstruct air outlets to maintain proper cool air circulation.
- Do not refreeze thawed frozen foods; consume them as quickly as possible.
- Use sealed packages or fresh-keeping bags for freezing to prolong storage and prevent freezer burn.
- In case of a power outage, reduce door openings and avoid adding new food.
- If a prolonged power outage is expected, place ice cubes in a watertight container in the upper part of the refrigerating chamber.
Usage Instructions:
- When the refrigerator is not in use, open the door to prevent odors from residual food.
- The freezing drawer is for long-term storage of items like meat and fish.
- Package food flat for freezing and thawing.
- After unplugging, wait at least 5 minutes before re-energizing.
- Wash and dry food before storing.
- If the refrigerator is to be stopped for a long time, unplug it, clean it, and do not block ventilation to maintain its service life.
Maintenance and Cleaning:
- Clean the refrigerator regularly to prevent unpleasant odors.
- Always unplug the refrigerator before cleaning.
- Use a soft towel or sponge with warm water and neutral detergent to clean the cabinet, avoiding the door seal. Clean the door seal with rinsing and a dry cloth.
