Getting Started

1. Charging the Battery

The battery is not fully charged upon delivery. Charge the battery fully before first use without interruption (approx. 3 hours). The LED indicator will show the charging status. A full charge (100%) is indicated by the LED turning solid green for 5 minutes before turning off. If the battery level drops critically low, an audio prompt will request you to recharge the headset.

2. Connecting via Bluetooth

To use wireless Bluetooth, pair your headphones with your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device. Turn on the headphones by pressing the Main Button (10) for 3 seconds. For initial pairing, the headphones automatically enter pairing mode (LED alternates white and red). Activate Bluetooth on your device, search for available devices, and select "ACCENTUM". If prompted, enter PIN "0000". A successful pairing is confirmed by audio prompts and the LED flashing white three times.

3. Using the Smart Control App

Download and install the Sennheiser Smart Control app from your device's app store (App Store or Google Play). The app allows you to manage all headphone functions, customize settings, and access features like equalizer and firmware updates. Connect your headphones via Bluetooth and launch the app.

4. Wearing and Adjusting the Headphones

To ensure optimal sound quality and comfortable wear, adjust the headband so the earcups fit snugly and evenly around your ears. The headband is adjustable to fit different head sizes. Ensure the earcups fully cover your ears for the best acoustic seal.

Using the Headphones

Battery and Charging

The headphones feature an internal rechargeable battery. A full charge takes approximately 3 hours. Charging time may vary depending on the power source and ambient temperature. It is recommended to charge the battery fully before the first use. The LED indicator displays the charging status:

If the LED indicator is off, ensure the charging port is clean. Continue charging for at least 30 minutes. If the battery is completely empty, it may take a few minutes for the LED indicator to show charging status.

You can listen to music or make calls while charging, though charging time may increase.

Bluetooth Connection

The headphones are compatible with Bluetooth 5.2. They automatically connect to the last two used Bluetooth devices when turned on. The headphones can store connection profiles for up to six paired Bluetooth devices. Audio playback is only possible from one device at a time. If you pair a seventh device, the oldest paired device's profile will be overwritten.

Pairing with a Bluetooth Device

  1. Bring the turned-off headphones close to your Bluetooth device (max. 20 cm).
  2. Press and hold the Main Button (10) for 3 seconds to turn on the headphones. A prompt will sound, and the LED will light up white for 5 seconds.
  3. Press and hold the Main Button (10) for another 5 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED will alternate white and red.
  4. Activate Bluetooth on your device.
  5. Enable searching for Bluetooth devices in your device's Bluetooth menu. All active Bluetooth devices in the vicinity will be displayed.
  6. Select "ACCENTUM" from the list of found Bluetooth devices. If prompted, enter the PIN "0000".
  7. Upon successful pairing, you will hear "Pairing successful" and "Connected" audio prompts. The LED will flash white three times.

If a connection is not established within 2 minutes, pairing mode will end, and the headphones will enter standby mode. Repeat the steps if necessary.

Changing Bluetooth Connection / "Connections"

To switch the audio connection to a paired Bluetooth device, use the "Connections" function in the Smart Control app. Select the desired paired device from the list. Ensure the device is powered on and Bluetooth is enabled. The audio connection will be established.

Disconnecting from a Bluetooth Device

To disconnect the headphones from a Bluetooth device, go to your device's Bluetooth menu and select the option to disconnect or unpair. You will hear the "No connection" audio prompt, and the headphones will enter standby mode.

Music Playback

You can listen to music when the headphones are connected via Bluetooth or USB. Use the Music and Call Button (8) to control playback:

If music playback does not start, ensure the Smart Control app's "Automatic pause" function is not enabled or disable it. Also, ensure the music playback app on your Bluetooth device is running.

Call Handling

These call functions are available when the headphones are connected via Bluetooth to a smartphone or PC/Mac. Active Noise Cancellation is always active during calls for optimal voice clarity. Transparency mode is not available during calls.

Diagram: Shows pressing the main button to activate the voice assistant.

Sidetone

The Sidetone function allows you to hear your own voice during phone calls, making conversations more natural. This function can be enabled, adjusted, or disabled via the Smart Control app.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Transparency Mode

The ACCENTUM headphones offer Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to reduce ambient noise and Transparency mode to allow you to hear your surroundings without removing the headphones. You can switch between ANC and Transparency mode by double-pressing the Main Button (10).

Adjusting Sound Effects and EQ

Use the Sennheiser Smart Control app to customize sound effects and adjust the equalizer. You can choose preset sound profiles, adjust bass, or create your own settings. These settings are saved on the headphones and are active regardless of the connected device.

Sound Notifications

You can adjust or disable sound notifications and voice prompts through the Smart Control app settings.

Bluetooth Off / Airplane Mode

To disable the wireless Bluetooth connection, for example, during flights, press the Main Button (10) five times. You will hear the "No connection" audio prompt. To re-enable Bluetooth, press the Main Button (10) five times again. You will hear the "Connected" audio prompt.

Diagram: Shows pressing the main button 5 times to turn Bluetooth off/on.

USB Connection

You can connect the headphones to a Mac/PC or mobile device using the included USB cable. This allows for audio playback directly from the device and also charges the headphones. Ensure "ACCENTUM" is set as the default audio playback and recording device in your system settings.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your headphones, try the following steps:

Bluetooth Range: The Bluetooth range is typically up to 10 meters (33 feet) in open space. Walls and other environmental factors can affect the range. If you move out of range, you may hear a "Lost connection" prompt, and the connection will automatically re-establish when you return to range.
