SI CR4000SW (ada) 10/19 WHY YOU NEED THIS PART: Your factory stereo is an integral part of your vehicle's data and communication systems. If the stereo is removed without the proper installation accessory, some functions of your vehicle will be LOST including: · +12V accessory power at stereo's location · R.A.P. (Retained Accessory Power) feature · Remote Turn-on for factory premium (digital) sound systems · Communicates proper command signals with host computer during vehicle service or diagnostic operations (SEE NOTE) · Steering wheel audio controls (if equipped) NOTE: Your vehicle's ECM (Electronics Control Module) may store an error code if operated without the factory stereo installed and you may experience difficulty when having the vehicle serviced at the dealership. The CR4000SW Interface module / harness will allow you to REPLACE the factory stereo and RETAIN the original power and communication signals. BEFORE BEGINNING: READ THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL **CAUTION**: Disconnect negative battery terminal to avoid short circuits. Read ALL manufacturers warnings regarding air bags and electrical systems in your vehicle. We recommend the use of a volt-ohm meter or computer-safe LED probe when checking wiring. A test light or grounded light probe if used improperly can cause damage to the vehicle's computer and/or diagnostic system. NOTE: We recommend the CJ2086A Car Stereo Installation Kit for mounting your aftermarket car stereo and a TK12A car stereo tool kit. 2 VEHICLE APPLICATIONS: MAKE/MODEL YEAR HARNESS MAKE/MODEL CHRYSLER DODGE (cont'd) 200/Convertible 2011-14 B Journey 300 2008-10 B Magnum 300/C 2005-07 A Magnum Aspen 2008-10 B Nitro Aspen 2007 A Ram/Mega Cab Sebring/Convertible 2007-10 B Ram/Mega Cab PT Cruiser 2006-10 A JEEP Town & Country 2008-16 B Commander DODGE Avenger Caliber Caliber Caravan Challenger Charger Charger Dakota Durango Durango Commander 2007-13 2009-12 2007-08 2008-16 2009-13 2008-10 2006-07 B B A B B B A Compass Compass Grand Cherokee Grand Cherokee Liberty Patriot Patriot Wrangler/Unlimited 2008-10 B 2011-12 B MITSUBISHI 2008-09 B Raider Durango 2004-07 A VOLKSWAGEN Routan 3 YEAR HARNESS 2009-10 B 2008-09 B 2005-07 A 2007-10 B 2009-12 B 2006-08 A 2008-10 B 2006-07 A 2009-16 B 2007-08 A 2008-13 B 2005-07 A 2008-12 B 2009-16 B 2007-08 A 2007-16 B 2008-09 B 2009-14 B VEHICLES WITH FACTORY AMPLIFIED SOUND SYSTEMS: The factory system accepts two channel audio only. Please connect the front outputs of the aftermarket radio to the rear inputs of the 22-pin Scosche connector. This will allow Bluetooth hands-free audio and navigation voice prompts to be heard. The rear speaker outputs of the aftermarket radio will not be used. The factory amplifier BALANCE and FADER is set to center by the interface. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery to avoid any short circuits. 2. Remove and unplug factory stereo. (If needed, call Scosche Tech Support 1 (800) 363-4490 x1 for stereo removal steps.) 3. Match and connect the appropriate wires from the CR4000SW harness to the appropriate wires of the plug provided with your stereo. For example, connect the yellow +12V Constant lead from your stereo to the yellow wire of the CR4000SW harness. (See wiring diagram section for additional information.) NOTE: If your vehicle is equipped with steering wheel controls and you are installing a compatible aftermarket stereo, see pages 8-9 for connection information. 4. Note that the RED +12V accessory wire and the orange illumination wire for your aftermarket stereo are coming from the CR4000SW module itself, not the vehicle harness. 5. If your aftermarket stereo does not have all matching color-coded wires for the CR4000SW interface harness, then cap or tape unused wires separately to avoid short circuits. 6. Reconnect the negative battery cable, close all doors and remove the key from vehicle ignition. 7. Allow the vehicle to come to a "resting" or "sleep" state for a few minutes without any key inserted, door/hood/trunk open and all vehicle accessories turned to the OFF position. 8. Connect the small black 8-pin harness to the CR4000SW interface module (black plastic box). 9. Remove the connector cap from either the "A" or the "B" factory vehicle connector (Choose the ONE connector that fits). 10. Connect the "A" or "B" 22-Pin CR4000SW connector to the Factory Harness. 11. As you install your new stereo, place the CR4000SW interface module in the dash cavity. (Optional: Cable ties or double sided tape can be used to secure the module, but are not included) 5 WIRING NOTES 1. The Red +12V switched accessory wire coming from the CR4000SW interface is rated at 10 amps for use with a single Aftermarket stereo. Connecting additional accessories to this +12V power source can cause damage to the CR4000SW module. 2. DO NOT REMOVE the black wiring insulation tape from the CR4000SW interface harness. It is designed to protect the wiring while providing a clean installation. 3. There are wires connected ONLY between the CR4000SW interface plug and the A/B vehicle connectors (under the insulating tape). Do not make any connections or cuts to these wires. 4. If your stereo does not contain an "Orange" illumination wire, then the orange wire will not be used. Tape or cap all unused wires to prevent short circuits 5. There are no "Blue" power antenna or "Blue/White" amplifier remote control wires on the CR4000SW interface harness. If there are premium sound systems in your vehicle, the CR4000SW will "turn-on" and activate these systems with data commands. If you are connecting Aftermarket amplifiers or accessories, then use the blue/white amp remote lead coming directly from the back of your aftermarket stereo.
