Your deep cleaner comes in 5 easy-to-assemble components. -Upper Handle -4 Screws Taped to Handle -Deep Cleaner Base -Tool Caddy -2 Hex Nuts The only tool you will need to assemble your deep cleaner is a Phillips-head screwdriver. 1 2 1 2 First, slide the Upper Handle on to the base. 1-From the flat side of the Tool Caddy, feed the power cord through the rounded-rectangle opening. 2-Next, align the Tool Caddy with the Upper Handle holes. 3 4 2 2-Insert 2 screws into 1 lower 2 holes located just above the Lower Hose Rack. Turn the screws until tightened. 1- Place Hex Nut into back of Tool Caddy and hold in place. Insert bolt from the front to the back, turning the bolt into the Hex Nut until snug. Do not overtighten. Repeat for the second bolt and Hex Nut. Attach tools to the end of the hose or front of the Upper Handle. Wrap the power cord and hose. 6 www.BISSELL.com Special Features 1 SmartMix® The SmartMix® feature automatically mixes hot tap water with the BISSELL® Advanced cleaning formula. Choose one of the 3 settings and the SmartMix will adjust the right amount of cleaning formula to mix with the hot water to fit your cleaning need. 2 2-in-1 Tank Our 2-in-1 Tank system is designed with a heavy-duty bladder inside for clean water. As you clean, the clean water in the bladder will empty and mix with the cleaning formula. Dirty water will be pulled out of your carpets and collect around the outside of the bladder so that clean and dirty water are always kept separate. This allows you to maximize tank space, yet only carry one tank to and from the sink for filling and emptying. 3 ReadyToolsTM Dial This dial switches your machine between floor cleaning and hose/tool cleaning. 4 Flow Indicator This is located on the machine base. It spins when the trigger is pressed to indicate that the machine is applying cleaning solution to the carpet and will stop spinning when the formula tank or bladder needs to be refilled, or when the trigger is released. 4 3 Before You Clean Maximum Results with your ProHeat® Pet Deep Cleaner. · Plan activities to give your carpet time to dry. · Move furniture to another area if cleaning an entire room (optional). · Thoroughly vacuum area with a dry vacuum cleaner before deep cleaning. · Plan your cleaning route to leave an exit path. It is best to begin cleaning in the corner farthest from your exit. · Pretreat Pretreating your carpet is recommended to improve cleaning effectiveness for heavily soiled carpet in heavy traffic areas such as entryways and hallways. a. Spray the BISSELL® Stain Pretreat formula onto high-traffic areas, soiled areas or stains. b. Allow to penetrate for at least 3 minutes. c. Use the ProHeat Pet machine on the heavy traffic setting. www.BISSELL.com 7 Preparing Your Machine Fill the 2-in-1 Tank with Water 1 First, press the Recline Pedal to lay down the machine handle. Lift the 2-in-1 Tank from the base of the machine using the carry handle on the tank. 2 1-Carry the tank to the sink. Set the tank on a flat surface and rotate the handle to unlatch and remove the lid. Fill up the bladder with hot tap water (140F/60C MAX). *Do not boil or microwave the water as it can destroy the bladder. 2-Optional: Add 2 ounces of BISSELL Boost formula to the bladder. 3-Return the tank lid by matching it to the tank edges. The tank handle must be in the forward position in order to set the lid in place. Rotate the handle to secure the latch. Note: Remember to secure the lid before picking up the tank. ATTENTION: To prevent damage to Berber carpets, avoid repeated strokes in the same area. NOTE: Heatwave Technology® helps maintain the temperature of the water in your 2-in-1 Tank while you're cleaning. 8 www.BISSELL.com Preparing Your Machine Fill the 2-in-1 Tank with Formula 1 2 Lift the tank up and out of the machine base. Fill the tank by first unscrewing the cap and insert. a. Fill with water to the `water' line. b. Fill with formula to the `formula' line. Turn the cap and screw on tightly to secure. Return the tank to the machine for a snug fit. Note: Make sure the cap is properly seated to avoid leaking. Choose the SmartMix Setting Simply Choose one of 3 settings: Heavy Traffic Normal Water Rinse Each setting is designed to adjust proper amounts of water and cleaning formula for your carpet. ATTENTION Do not overwet carpet. Be careful not to run over loose objects or edges of area rugs. Stalling the brush may result in premature belt failure. www.BISSELL.com 9 Cleaning Your Floors 1 2 3 Set the ReadyToolsTM Dial to FLOOR CLEANING. Plug the power cord into a properly grounded outlet. Press the Power Switch to turn the machine ON. 4 While pressing the trigger, make one slow pass forward and back to put water and formula down. Release the trigger and make one slow pass forward and back over the same area to pick up the water and formula that was just put down. Repeat cleaning passes until the liquid coming up appears clean. Continue passes without pressing the trigger until you can't see any more water being pulled up. NOTE: Both the SmartMix formula tank and the 2-in-1 bladder need to have liquid in them in order for the machine to spray. If one of the tanks are empty, the machine will not spray. -Caution: Do not overwet the carpet. Also take care not to run over loose objects, edges of area rugs, or the cord. -Stalling the brush may result in premature belt failure. 10 www.BISSELL.com Cleaning with Hose & Attachments NOTE: Your deep cleaner comes with a hose and at least one tool to attach for cleaning stairs, upholstery and more. IMPORTANT : Check upholstery tags for any special care instructions. If possible, check for colored stuffing as it is possible the color could bleed through. Check for colorfastness in a hidden area, like the back or underside of the furniture. 1 2 3 Be sure to vacuum thoroughly to pick up loose debris and pet hair. The hose and tool of the vacuum can help to get into the fabric folds. Also plan activities to allow the upholstery to dry. Fill the tanks following the steps on pages 8 & 9. Set the ReadyToolsTM Dial to the TOOLS setting. This will allow the machine to divert the spray and suction to the hose. 4 5 Set the SmartMix® Dial to the Normal setting. Attach the cleaning tool to the end of the hose. Plug in the power cord to a grounded outlet and press the Power Switch ON. Press the trigger to spray solution on to the area you are cleaning. Slowly move the tool back and forth over the soiled surface. Release the trigger to suction up the soiled area. Work in small sections. Spray with only warm water to rinse the cleaned area (optional). Caution: Do not overwet the upholstery. When finished, rinse the hose and tool by suctioning warm water from a bowl. Allow the hose and tool to dry before storing the machine. WARNING WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, be extra careful when cleaning stairs. Make sure the machine is secure and level. www.BISSELL.com 11 Rinsing Your Carpet (optional) 1 Rinsing is an optional step that can be done during the cleaning process by switching to the water rinse setting, or it can be done after the carpeted area has been cleaned. Choose the Water Rinse setting on the SmartMix® Dial, Be sure to rinse out your tank if Boost was added in with your water. Use the Water Rinse setting with water only. Follow the same path as you did for cleaning, taking care to do a forward (wet) stroke by pressing the trigger, a backward (wet) stroke, and a forward and backward (dry) stroke, releasing the trigger. Continue this until the water you see coming up the nozzle is clear. Emptying the 2-in-1 Tank 1 2 1- Press the Power Switch OFF. Remove the 2-in-1 Tank from the base by lifting up on the tank's carry handle. 2- Carry the tank like a bucket to where you'll dispose of the collection water. Rotate the carry handle to unlatch the lid and empty the tank. After each use, remove and rinse the lint screen located on the tank lid. NOTE: You may notice hair & debris deposits on the carpet or in the tank that were loosened by the cleaning action (especially with new carpet that may never have been deep cleaned before). This debris should be picked up and thrown away. To Continue Cleaning 3 1 2 1- Fill the 2-in-1 Tank again, following the instructions on pages 8 and 9. 2- Make sure the tank lid is secure and return the tank to the machine. Follow cleaning instructions on pages 10 and 11 to continue cleaning. *Don't forget to check the formula tank and refill as needed! 12 www.BISSELL.com Rinse (optional) Choose the Water Rinse setting on the SmartMix Dial and follow rinse instructions at the top of this page. Storing Your Machine WARNING To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, turn power OFF and disconnect plug from electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting. NOTICE To reduce the risk of a leaking condition, do not store machine where freezing may occur. Damage to internal components may result. 1 Once your cleaning is complete, make sure the water tank is emptied and rinsed out. Put the machine away in a closet or basement for the next use. Caring for Your Machine A few simple steps can assure your machine is well maintained after your cleaning is complete. 1 2 3 Turn power OFF and unplug the machine. Always wrap the power cord and make sure the hose is securely wrapped. Make sure you rinse the 2-and-1 Tank an extra time on the last rinse. Rinse under and around the bladder as well as the lint screen. Clean the flow indicator filter after each use. Unscrew the cap to lift the red rotor and white filter. Rinse all parts with water and return them to the machine. Twist the cap back on, but do not overtighten. 4 Insert the Nozzle Clean Out Tool into the thin slot, on the end of the nozzle that touches the floor. Clean until free of pet hair or debris. Use the opposite side of the tool to clean the Brush Rolls by combing the bristles to help loosen hair or debris. Nozzle and Brush Roll Cleaning Wipe the machine's exterior with a soft cloth. Once your carpet is dry, vacuum again to remove any excess hair or fuzz on your carpet. www.BISSELL.com 13 Troubleshooting WARNING To reduce the risk of electric shock, turn power OFF and disconnect plug from electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks. Problem Possible causes Remedies The light is not illuminating on the front of the machine Power Switch is OFF. Turn Power Switch ON. Bladder may be empty. Refill bladder with hot tap water. Filter may be clogged. Clean out the flow indicator following steps on page 13. Reduced spray or no spray Tanks may not be seated properly. Turn power OFF (O); remove & reseat tanks. Pump may have lost prime. Turn power OFF (O); after 1 minute turn ON and press trigger. Pump belt may be broken. Turn ON the machine and check to see that the DirtLifter PowerBrush turns. DirtLifter® PowerBrush does not turn Brush belt or pump belt is off or broken. Turn the machine OFF (O) and unplug from the outlet. To check if the brush belt or pump belt has broken, you will need a flathead screwdriver. Insert the blade end into the lower slot of the Belt Access Door to release the lower snap. If necessary, insert the blade end into the upper slot to release the upper snap. Examine the belt for breakage. If broken, visit BISSELL.com for replacement part information. Su limpiadora profunda viene en 5 componentes fáciles de montar: -Mango superior -4 tornillos adheridos al mango con cinta adhesiva -Base de la limpiadora profunda -Portaherramientas -2 tuercas hexagonales La única herramienta que necesitará para el ensamblaje de su limpiadora profunda es un destornillador Phillips. 1 2 1 2 Primero, deslice el mango superior sobre la base. 3 2 1-Desde el lado plano del portaherramientas, alimente el cordón eléctrico a través de la abertura rectangular redondeada. 2-A continuación, alinee el portaherramientas con los agujeros del mango superior. 4 2-Inserte 2 tornillos 1 en los 2 agujeros inferiores situados inmediatamente arriba del soporte de la manguera inferior. Lo mejor es comenzar a limpiar la esquina más alejada de su salida. · Tratamiento previo Se recomienda hacer un tratamiento previo a la alfombra para mejorar la eficacia de la limpieza en el caso de alfombras muy sucias en áreas de alto tráfico como entradas y pasillos. a. Rocíe la fórmula BISSELL Stain Pretreat sobre las áreas con mucho tráfico, áreas con suciedad o manchas. b. Permita que penetre durante por lo menos 3 minutos. c. Coloque el tanque sobre una superficie plana y haga girar el mango para soltarlo y quite la tapa. Llene la cámara con agua corriente caliente (140F/60C MÁX.). *No hierva ni caliente el agua en un microondas pues puede destruir la cámara. 2-Opcional: Agregue 2 onzas de fórmula BISSELL® Boost a la cámara. 3-Vuelva a instalar la tapa del tanque haciendo que coincida con los bordes del tanque. El mango del tanque debe estar en la posición hacia adelante para colocar la tapa en su sitio. Haga girar el mango para asegurar el cierre. Nota: Recuerde asegurar la tapa antes de alzar el tanque. ATENCIÓN: Para evitar daños a las alfombras Berber, evite pasar repetidamente por la misma área. Simplemente seleccione uno de 3 ajustes: Tráfico intenso Normal Enjuague con agua Cada ajuste está diseñado para regular la cantidad correcta de agua y fórmula de limpieza para su alfombra. Frenar el cepillo puede resultar en la falla prematura de la correa. www.BISSELL.com 9 Limpieza del piso 1 2 3 Coloque el Dial ReadyToolsTM en la posición de "FLOOR CLEANING" (Limpieza de pisos). Enchufe el cordón eléctrico en un tomacorriente conectado a tierra adecuadamente. Presione el interruptor de encendido colocándolo en la posición "ON" (encendido) para encender la máquina. 4 Mientras presiona el gatillo haga una pasada lenta hacia adelante y atrás para aplicar agua y fórmula. Suelte el gatillo y haga una pasada lenta hacia adelante y atrás sobre la misma área para recoger el agua y la fórmula que se acaba de aplicar. Repita las pasadas de limpieza hasta que el líquido que se aspira se vea limpio. Siga pasando sin apretar el gatillo hasta que vea que ya no se aspira más agua. NOTA: Ambos, el tanque de formula SmartMix y la cámara 2 en 1 deben tener líquido en ellos para que la máquina rocíe. Si uno de los tanques está vacío, la máquina no rociará. -Precaución: No moje demasiado la alfombra. Así mismo, tenga cuidado de no pasar sobre objetos sueltos, ni bordes de tapetes, ni el cordón. -Frenar el cepillo puede resultar en la falla prematura de la correa. 10 www.BISSELL.com Limpieza con manguera y accesorios NOTA: Su limpiadora profunda viene con una manguera y por lo menos un accesorio para limpiar escaleras, tapizado y mucho más. IMPORTANTE: Compruebe los rótulos del tapizado para ver si hay instrucciones especiales para el cuidado. Si es posible, compruebe si hay relleno de colores pues es posible que el color pueda correrse a través de la tela. En un área no visible, compruebe si los colores son firmes tal vez en la parte posterior o abajo del mueble. 1 Asegúrese de aspirar cuidadosamente para eliminar desechos sueltos y pelo de mascotas. La manguera y las herramientas de la aspiradora pueden ayudar a penetrar en los pliegues de la tela. Así mismo, planee las actividades para darle tiempo al tapizado a que seque. Llene los tanques de acuerdo a las páginas 8 y 9 para preparar la máquina. 2 Coloque el Dial ReadyToolsTM en la posición de "TOOLS" (herramientas). Esto permitirá que la máquina desvíe el rocío y la succión a la manguera. 3 Ajuste el dial SmartMix en la posición Normal. 4 5 Acople la herramienta de limpieza en el extremo de la manguera. Enchufe el cordón eléctrico en un tomacorriente conectado a tierra y presione el botón de encendido colocándolo en la posición de "ON" (encendido). Presione el gatillo para rociar la solución en el área que está limpiando. Mueva despacio la herramienta hacia adelante y hacia atrás sobre el área manchada. Suelte el gatillo para aspirar el área manchada. Trabaje en secciones pequeñas. Rocíe solamente con agua tibia para enjuagar el área que se ha limpiado (opcional). Precaución: No moje demasiado el tapizado. Cuando haya terminado, enjuague la manguera aspirando agua tibia de un tazón. Permita que la manguera y la herramienta sequen antes de almacenar la máquina. ADVERTENCIA ADVERTENCIA: Para reducir el riesgo de lesiones, tenga cuidado adicional al limpiar escaleras. Asegúrese de que la máquina esté segura y nivelada. www.BISSELL.com 11 Enjuague de la alfombra (opcional) 1 El enjuague es un paso opcional que se puede efectuar durante el proceso de limpieza cambiando al ajuste de enjuague con agua, o se puede hacer después que se haya limpiado el área alfombrada. Seleccione el ajuste Water Rinse (enjuague con agua) en el dial SmartMix. Asegúrese de enjuagar el tanque si se agregó Boost junto con el agua. Use el ajuste Water Rinse (enjuague con agua) solamente con agua. Siga el mismo recorrido usado para la limpieza teniendo cuidado de hacer un recorrido hacia adelante (mojado) presionando el gatillo, un recorrido hacia atrás (mojado) y un recorrido hacia adelante y hacia atrás (seco), soltando el gatillo. Siga haciendo esto hasta que vea que el agua que sube por la boquilla es limpia. Vacíe el Tanque 2-en-1 1 2 1- Presione el botón de encendido colocándolo en la posición de OFF (apagado). Extraiga el Tanque 2-en-1 de la base alzando con la manija para el transporte. 2- Transporte el tanque como si fuera un balde al sitio donde va a desechar la recolección de agua. Haga girar la manija hasta que se libere la tapa y vacíe el tanque. Después de cada uso, extraiga y enjuague el filtro para pelusas en la tapa del tanque. NOTA: Es posible que observe depósitos de pelo y suciedad en la alfombra o en el tanque que se soltaron mediante la acción de limpieza (especialmente con alfombras nuevas a las que tal vez nunca se les haya hecho una limpieza profunda). Se debe recoger esta suciedad y se la debe desechar. Para seguir limpiando 3 1 2 1- Llene nuevamente el Tanque 2-en-1, siguiendo las instrucciones de las páginas 8 y 9. 2- Asegúrese de que se haya asegurado la tapa del tanque y vuelva a colocar el tanque en la máquina. Siga las instrucciones para la limpieza en las páginas 10 y 11 para seguir limpiando. *¡No se olvide de mirar el tanque de fórmula y de volver a llenar en la medida que sea necesario! Enjuague (opcional) Seleccione el ajuste Water Rinse (enjuague con agua) en el dial SmartMix y siga las instrucciones en la parte superior de esta página. 12 www.BISSELL.com Almacenamiento de la máquina ADVERTENCIA Para reducir el riesgo de incendio, choque eléctrico o lesiones, apague (OFF) el encendido y desconecte el enchufe del tomacorriente eléctrico antes de efectuar tareas de mantenimiento o identificar fallas. Cuidado de la máquina Unos pocos pasos pueden asegurar que su máquina reciba buen mantenimiento después que haya terminado la limpieza. 1 2 3 Apague la alimentación y desenchufe la máquina. Envuelva siempre el cordón eléctrico y asegúrese de que la manguera esté envuelta de manera segura. El vaciado final del tanque 2-en-1 siempre debe recibir un enjuague adicional. Enjuague abajo y alrededor de la cámara y también el filtro para la pelusa. Limpie el filtro del indicador de flujo después de cada uso. Destornille la tapa para alzar el rotor rojo y el filtro blanco. Enjuague todas las piezas con agua y vuelva a instalarlas en la máquina. Gire la tapa para volver a instalarla, pero no la apriete demasiado. 4 Limpieza de la boquilla y del cepillo cilíndrico Inserte la herramienta para limpiar boquillas en la ranura delgada, en el extremo de la boquilla que toca el piso. Limpie hasta que quede libre de pelo o suciedad de mascota. Use el lado opuesto de la herramienta para limpiar los cepillos cilíndricos peinando las cerdas para ayudar a soltar pelo o suciedad. Limpie el exterior de la máquina usando un paño suave. Una vez que la alfombra quede seca, aspire nuevamente para eliminar cualquier exceso de pelo o pelusa de su alfombra. www.BISSELL.com 13 Identificación de fallas ADVERTENCIA Para reducir el riesgo de choque eléctrico, apague el interruptor de encendido y desconecte el enchufe del tomacorriente antes de efectuar tareas de mantenimiento o hacer una comprobación para identificar fallas. Problema La luz en la parte delantera de la máquina no está iluminada Causas posibles El interruptor de encendido de la máquina no está en la posición de encendido ON ( I ). Es posible que la cámara esté vacía. El filtro puede estar obturado. Rocío a baja intensidad o sin rocío Es posible que los tanques no estén bien asentados. Es posible que la bomba haya perdido el cebado. Es posible que la correa de la bomba esté rota. Falta la correa del cepillo o la correa de la bomba o está rota. El cepillo cilíndrico DirtLifter® PowerBrush no gira Es posible que la selección del Dial ReadyToolsTM no sea la que corresponde para el trabajo de limpieza. Es posible que la ventana de la boquilla no esté bien acoplada. La limpiadora no aspira la solución La tapa del Tanque 2 en 1 no está correctamente instalada. El Tanque 2 en 1 no está correctamente asentado. Posición deficiente de la herramienta. (Solo accesorios de mano.) El Tanque 2 en 1 ha recogido el máximo de agua sucia. Acciones correctivas Encienda en interruptor de encendido. Vuelva a llenar la cámara con agua corriente caliente. Limpie el filtro del indicador de flujo, página 13. Apague el encendido (OFF) (O); extraiga y vuelva a asentar los tanques. Apague OFF (O) el encendido; después de 1 minuto encienda ON y presione el gatillo. Encienda la máquina y compruebe para ver si gira el DirtLifter PowerBrush. Apague OFF (O) la máquina y desenchúfela del tomacorriente de la pared. Para comprobar si se ha roto la correa del cepillo o la correa de la bomba, necesita un destornillador de cabeza plana. Inserte el extremo de la hoja en la ranura inferior de la puerta de acceso de la correa para soltar el cierre a presión inferior. Si es necesario inserte el extremo de la hoja en la ranura superior para liberar el cierre a presión superior. Examine la correa para ver si está rota. Si está rota, visite BISSELL.com para obtener información sobre un reemplazo. Ajuste el Dial ReadyToolsTM en la posición correcta, dependiendo de cómo esté usando su máquina.
