Safety Information
National safety regulations must be observed for installation and operation. Installation and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified electrician only. The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by improper use or installation. Any subsequent modifications to the luminaire will render the modifier responsible as the manufacturer.
Overvoltage Protection
The electronic components are protected against overvoltage according to DIN EN 61547. For enhanced protection against transients, separate overvoltage protection components are recommended. These can be found on the BEGA website at www.bega.com.
Installation Instructions
Important Note: LEDs are high-quality electronic components. Avoid direct contact with the LED light output surface with bare hands during installation or relamping.
- Undo the screws and carefully lift off the luminaire top.
- Lead the mains supply cable through the designated cable entry into the luminaire housing.
- Ensure the luminaire is oriented correctly, with the "arrow down" marking indicating the bottom position.
- Fix the luminaire base to the mounting surface using the supplied or other suitable fixing materials. Ensure supplied gasket rings are used.
- Make the earth conductor connection and the main electrical connection.
- For digital control (e.g., DALI), connect to the "DA, DA" terminal. If this terminal is not used, the luminaire will operate at its maximum light output.
- To ensure the maximum service life of the electrical components, the enclosed desiccant pouch must be placed inside the luminaire. Remove the pouch from its packaging and position it at the location marked by the red information label immediately before finally closing the luminaire.
- Establish the earth conductor connection between the luminaire top and base.
- Verify that the gasket is correctly positioned.
- Replace the luminaire top and tighten the screws evenly.
- Tighten the screws uniformly in a crosswise pattern for secure mounting.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Clean the luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleaning agents to remove dirt and deposits.
- Do not use high-pressure cleaners.
LED Module Replacement
The designation of the LED module is noted on a label inside the luminaire. BEGA replacement modules are designed to match the original light colour and light output. Replacement can be performed by qualified persons using standard tools.
- Disconnect the electrical system and open the luminaire.
- Follow the specific installation instructions provided with the LED module.
- Inspect the luminaire gaskets and replace them if necessary.
- Any defective glass must be replaced.
- Close the luminaire securely.
