Repeat the wiring steps to add additional MotoHorns.

Safe Installation

  1. Follow this user manual.
  2. Power off your vehicle before the installation.
  3. Do not install MotoHorn directly to the stock horn wires; use 12 AWG wire.
  4. Wire connectors are heat shrinkable; do not use open flame near your vehicle.
  5. Avoid hard bends on the air line to provide free air flow.
  6. Keep the compressor away from parts that produce a lot of heat.
  7. TIP: Keep your stock horn connected to its wires when wiring MotoHorn. This way both horns get activated at once. You can do so by splicing the wires or adding a Y-split to the stock wire ends.

If you follow the next steps, no mechanical or electrical knowledge is required.

Mounting the Horn

1. MotoHorn trumpet can be unscrewed from its base; tighten it securely.

2. Use the provided mounting plate for easier installation.

See mounting examples online: Motohorn.com/trainhorn-manual

The most common mounting spots are the following: in the engine bay, behind the grille, behind the bumpers, or attached to the hood.

Mounting Plate

Optional: attach the trumpet to the plate and use its center holes for mounting.

For example: using the stock horn bolt as the mounting point, or attaching the plate to any suitable bolt on your vehicle. Use the provided bolts and vibration damping rubbers.

The Compressor

The compressor has a small bolting edge and can be bolted down to any available bolt on your vehicle.

You can mount it close to the trumpet or extend the air line without any loss of performance, if necessary.

To increase the compressor's lifespan, we recommend mounting it in a dry spot.

Wiring the Horn (Step 2)

Wire Gauge: 12 AWG wire is thicker wire, 18 AWG wire is thinner wire.

Crimp the connectors tightly and use a heat gun or a lighter to shrink them around the wire. Do not use open flame near your vehicle.

Installing the Relay

We recommend keeping the relay closer to the battery and in a dry area. Relay pins are numbered.

Use red connectors and 18 AWG wire:

  1. Connect pin 85 and 86 to your stock horn wires.
  2. The positive and negative can be switched up on these pins.

The relay has a green 30A built-in fuse; make sure it is seated properly.

Final Connections

Use yellow connectors and 12 AWG wire:

  1. Connect pin 30 to battery positive.
  2. Connect pin 87 to compressor positive.
  3. Connect compressor negative to the battery negative, or ground it to frame.

Wiring Diagram Description

The wiring diagram illustrates the connection of the MotoHorn system to your vehicle's electrical system and stock horn wiring.

MotoHorn Compressor: Connect the positive terminal (+) via 12 AWG wire to the relay's pin 87. Connect the negative terminal (-) via 18 AWG wire to ground.

Relay: Connect pin 30 via 12 AWG wire to the vehicle's battery positive (+). Connect pin 85 and pin 86 via 18 AWG wire to the respective positive and negative terminals of your stock horn wiring. The relay has an integrated 30A fuse.

Vehicle Battery: Connect the positive terminal (+) via 12 AWG wire to the relay's pin 30. Connect the negative terminal (-) to ground.

Stock Horn Wires: These wires are connected to the relay's pins 85 and 86. This allows the stock horn activation to also trigger the MotoHorn.

Optional Toggle Switch

Connect MotoHorn to your system when desired, by using some 18-22 AWG wire and a toggle switch.

Install the switch on one of the wires linking your stock horn wire to the MotoHorn relay (typically on the wire going to pin 85 or 86).

Conclusion

Congratulations! Your MotoHorn is ready to use!
