Using the Built-in Wireless System
The MIGHTY AIR features an advanced NUX low-latency wireless system. Simply plug the included transmitter into your guitar for hours of cable-free playing.
Wireless Pairing
- To pair the MIGHTY AIR and the transmitter, turn on the MIGHTY AIR. Then, simultaneously press and hold the RECEIVER button on the MIGHTY AIR and the POWER button on the transmitter until the transmitter powers on and the RECEIVER button and the transmitter's LED turn green.
- The system automatically detects the best channel in the 2.4 GHz frequency band. If the receiver does not detect a signal, the RECEIVER button will turn red and flash slowly. When the receiver detects a signal from the transmitter, the RECEIVER button will be solid green.
Mute Function
When the wireless system is active, press the transmitter's POWER button to mute the sound. The RECEIVER button on the MIGHTY AIR will turn red. Press the transmitter's POWER button again to unmute, and the RECEIVER button will turn green.
Cabletone Function
While the wireless system is active, press the RECEIVER button to toggle the Cabletone effect on/off. This effect simulates the tonal characteristics of a 5-meter instrument cable. Cabletone is off by default when the unit is powered on.
Indicator Color | Cabletone Function Status |
---|---|
Green | Cabletone function is OFF (default) |
Orange | Cabletone function is ON |
Red | Muted |
Auto-Power Off
The wireless system automatically powers off if no signal is detected for 10 minutes.
Tips for Passive and Active Pickups
- If your guitar or bass has passive pickups, you may want to engage the Cabletone effect for optimal sound. Active pickups and acoustic pickups with electric preamplifiers generally sound best with the Cabletone effect disengaged. Press the RECEIVER button while playing to experiment with the sound.
- If you are using active pickups, it is recommended to maintain a greater distance between the transmitter and the internal circuitry of your guitar or bass to reduce noise.
- Active circuits typically use TRS output jacks, but wiring can vary between guitars. If you encounter issues with active pickups, try using a stereo-to-mono adapter to convert the transmitter's stereo plug to a mono plug before connecting it to your guitar.
Transmitter Charging
When you turn on the transmitter, the LED indicates the battery level before pairing. To charge the transmitter, connect it to the INPUT jack of the amplifier. The MIGHTY AIR will charge the transmitter. The transmitter's LED will be red while charging and turn off when fully charged. A full charge provides approximately 3.5 hours of playback time.
IMPORTANT WARNING: NEVER connect a STEREO cable between an external device and the INPUT jack on the MIGHTY AIR. This could damage the external device!
You can also charge the transmitter via USB, but it will not send a signal while charging.
