Oase FiltoClear UVC Pond Filter System
Unit Configuration and Function Description
The Oase FiltoClear UVC is a pressure filter designed for pond water clarification. It utilizes a multi-stage cleaning process involving foam filters and a UV-C lamp to remove both mechanical and biological impurities.
Unit Components: The unit consists of a housing containing various cleaning stages. Key components include:
- Foam filters (blue for coarse, red for fine)
- UV-C lamp housing
- Inlet and outlet connections
- Soiled water drain
- Function switch
Function Description:
- Cleaning Stage "Filtering": Water flows through foam filters, trapping mechanical soiling. Beneficial bacteria colonize the filters, providing biological cleaning, most effective above 50°F (10°C).
- Cleaning Stage "Radiation": Water is exposed to UV-C light, which kills green algae and pathogenic agents. A bypass feature ensures adequate radiation duration even at high flow rates.
Filter Starter: Optimal biological cleaning is achieved after several weeks. The establishment of a bacterial community on the foam filters can be accelerated by using a filter starter product (not included).
OASE Recommendations:
- Fish population: Approximately 2 ft (60 cm) of fish length per 260 gal (1 m³) of pond water.
- Pond pump compatibility: FiltoClear 3000 (max. 2100 GPH / 8000 l/h), FiltoClear 4000 (max. 2600 GPH / 10000 l/h), FiltoClear 8000 (max. 4200 GPH / 16000 l/h).
Symbols on the Unit:
- Warning Symbols: Indicate potential risks such as personal injury from incorrect use or UV radiation. Always read instructions before use.
- IP 24 Rating: Indicates protection against touching dangerous components and protection against splash water.
- Other Symbols: Indicate protection from direct sun radiation and the need to dismantle at temperatures of 32°F (0°C) and below.
Installation
General Installation Guidelines:
- Maintain a minimum spacing of 6.6 ft (2 m) between the unit and the water.
- Avoid direct sun exposure for the unit.
