Scosche HDSWC1 Handlebar Control Interface
For 1998-13 Harley Davidson Motorcycles
Introduction / Preliminary
The HDSWC1 interface allows replacement of the factory Harley Davidson stereo while retaining handlebar-mounted controls (when equipped). It offers easy plug-and-play connection without cutting, splicing, or additional resistors. The included harness provides +12V constant power, +12V switched power, and front speaker connections.

Wiring Codes
White: Left Front Positive (LF+)
White/Black: Left Front Negative (LF-)
Black: Chassis Ground Control
Yellow: +12V Constant Power
Red: +12V Accessory
Gray: Right Front Positive (RF+)
Gray/Black: Right Front Negative (RF-)
Note: The RED Accessory output wire is rated at 10A Max output for most aftermarket head-units. Do not connect additional +12V switched accessories to this output to avoid module damage. A relay is needed if 10A output is insufficient (Relay not included).
Steering Wheel Wiring Codes

This diagram shows the connections for steering wheel controls. The interface uses a 3.5mm plug for most stereos and a brown wire for Kenwood and newer JVC stereos.

Installation Steps:
- Prepare SWC steering wheel connector harness using the chart.
- Connect the harness to the interface module.
- For Alpine, Clarion, JVC, Panasonic, and Sony stereos, connect the 3.5mm male steering plug into the steering wheel input jack at the back of the stereo.
- For Kenwood and newer JVC stereos, connect the BROWN wire from the steering wheel harness to the "Remote in" wire at the back of the stereo.

Notes for Sony Head Unit Installation:
Ensure the interface is disconnected before opening the enclosure by hand to reveal the dipswitches. Dipswitch 4 must be set to "Off" (Down position) for Sony head units, or "On" (UP Position) for Pioneer head units. Refer to the Dipswitch chart.
