Usage Precautions

The laser engraving machine uses a high-density laser beam to irradiate the material during engraving or cutting, generating high temperatures on the material surface. The goal is to gasify the material without combustion. However, most materials are inherently flammable and can be ignited, forming an open flame, which may damage the machine and its surroundings.

Please follow these operating principles:

  1. Do not place the product near flammable or explosive substances, volatile solvents, or heat sources. Place the product in a well-ventilated, cool, and dust-free environment.
  2. Do not use other power cords instead of the one provided with the product during installation.
  3. Regularly clean the machine body and laser module with a dry cloth when the power is off.
  4. The operating temperature range for the laser is 0℃-35℃. Operation at sub-zero temperatures is prohibited. Avoid using the product in humid environments or during thunderstorms.
  5. If the product will not be used for a long time, turn it off and unplug the power cord.
  6. When the product is connected to power, do not touch electronic areas with your hands or other tools.
  7. Do not touch moving mechanical parts or the laser module while the machine is running.
  8. Before engraving, place a flat object that the laser cannot penetrate, such as an aluminum alloy or stainless steel plate, on the workbench, and then place the material to be processed.
  9. Wear goggles during laser engraving to prevent vision damage from direct exposure to the laser spot.
  10. Laser engraving may produce a small amount of smoke or odor. It is recommended to operate in a well-ventilated environment.
  11. Children under 10 years old should not use this product without adult supervision to avoid personal injury.
  12. Prepare fire extinguishers for use and maintain them regularly. Do not leave the machine unattended while it is running.
  13. Users should comply with the laws and regulations of the country and region where the equipment is located (used), abide by professional ethics, pay attention to safety obligations, and strictly prohibit the use of our products or equipment for any illegal purposes. Creality will not be responsible for any violator's legal liability under any circumstance.

Equipment Introduction

The CR-Laser Falcon is a laser engraving machine with a modular design, allowing for different laser modules (5W and 10W) to be attached.

Components:

Parts List

The package includes the following parts:

Assembly Directions

  1. Assemble the left Y-axis assembly: Pass the left Y-axis assembly (with the belt up) through the X-axis assembly and put the belt on in the direction shown in the figure. Tighten the belt, and insert two T-shaped nuts into the left Y-axis assembly. Then lock the belt with a hexagon screw. (Note: Do not overtighten to prevent the belt from perforating.)
  2. Assemble the right Y-axis assembly: The method is the same as above.
  3. Assemble front and rear X-axis profiles: Lock with eight M5*20 screws.
  4. Assemble three tripods and control box assembly: Lock with eight M5*20 screws.
  5. Install the laser module:
    • For 5W laser module: Assemble it into the fixing plate. The fixed focus bar should naturally contact the material surface when vertical. Finally, lock it with two hand screws on the right and turn the fixed focus bar clockwise until it is attracted by the magnet. Plug in the laser module cord.
    • For 10W laser module: Place the multi-level fixed focus bar between the laser module and the material. Follow the tips and make the bottom of the laser module contact the corresponding surface of the multi-level fixed focus bar. Finally, lock it with two hand screws on the right. For example, to engrave or cut 2mm basswood.

Note: The laser module must be installed and removed only when the power is off.

Software Installation and Usage Guide

The TF card that comes with the machine contains tutorials for LightBurn and LaserGRBL. You can get relevant information from the TF card.

Start Engraving

The machine supports real-time working via Type-C or offline working via TF card. Before engraving, please follow the assembly instructions to focus correctly and wipe the protective lens of the laser module with a dustless cloth and alcohol to ensure the best engraving effect.

Offline Working

  1. Before powering on, insert the TF card containing the .gcode file (the machine reads the latest .gcode file in the TF card by default; it is recommended to delete other .gcode files before engraving) into the machine. Insert one side of the power adapter into a remotely switchable power socket and the other side into the power connector on the left side of the control box. Finally, turn on the red power switch on the left side of the control box.

When powered on, the machine emits three beeps. After initialization, it enters standby mode, and the indicator light shows a breathing effect.

Operation Steps:

Real-time Working

For real-time working by Type-C, please refer to the tutorial on the TF card.

Indicator Status Explanation

Exception Handling

In preview or engraving mode, if the machine turns on its side or moves, it will turn off the laser, stop the motor, the indicator light will flash, and the buzzer will emit an alarm.

Solution: Move the machine back to its original position. After clearing the abnormality, press the microswitch on the machine's control box to continue previewing or engraving.
