General Safety and Usage Instructions

Important Warnings:

• National guidelines concerning official approval of auxiliaries must be observed.
• Any alteration or modification of the towing hitch is prohibited and voids the operating licence.
• Remove insulating compound or underbody coating from the vehicle in the area of the tow bar's contact surfaces.
• The tow bar is intended for towing trailers and carrying loads. Any other use is prohibited.
• Parking Assist Systems: Vehicles equipped with parking assist systems may experience malfunctions if the tow bar components (ball bar, coupling ball) are within the sensor's detection range. Adjust the sensing range or disable the parking assist system if necessary. This is less likely with removable or pivoting ball tow bars when the ball is not in the operating position.
• The tow bar is a safety-critical part and must be fitted only by qualified companies. Improper assembly may result in a serious accident hazard.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Vehicle Preparation

Identify the specific BMW model (2 Series Active Tourer, 2 Series Gran Tourer, X1). Arrows in diagrams indicate areas of the rear bumper that may require modification or removal for installation.
