The set of photoelectric cells allows the movement of a drive to be stopped or reversed if an obstacle is detected.

Caution - Important safety instructions
For reasons of personal safety, it is important to follow all the instructions, as incorrect use can lead to serious injury. Retain these instructions.
Somfy cannot be held responsible for damage resulting from not following the instructions in this document.
In order to comply with European Directives, this product (type D device compliant with standard EN12453) must be installed with a Somfy motor.
Caution
- Do not spray water onto the product.
- Do not install this product in an explosive environment.
- Check that the temperature range marked on the product is suited to the installation location.
- Wear safety goggles during drilling, do not wear jewellery and use suitable tools during installation.
Maintenance
- Check that the cells are operating correctly every 6 months.
- Regularly clean the cells with a dry cloth.

Installation
To ensure the sealing of the cells, make a silicon bead at the cable raceway.
To ensure electrical safety, this class III product must be powered by a Safety Extra-Low Voltage (SELV) power source.
- Wire the transmitter cell (TX): See fig. 6.
- Close the transmitter cell (TX) cover without screwing it on (fig. 8).
- Wire the receiver cell (RX):
- BUS operation: See fig. 9a.
- Open operation (NO) : See fig. 9b (default).
- Closed operation (NC) : See fig. 9c.
- Wire the transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) cell terminals to the motor control electronics: Refer to the operating guide.
- Check the alignment is correct (fig. 10):
- If the indicator light does not come on, adjust the alignment of the cell (RX) using a shim (fig. 10a). Check again.
- If the indicator light comes on (the alignment is correct - fig. 10b), close the cover (fig. 11).
- Once installation is complete, make sure the cells are operating correctly.
Removing the Printed Circuit Board
If the electronic chip needs to be removed, use a little screwdriver to remove the upper section by pushing the terminal gently downwards.
