Introduction

The TrickleStar Energy Monitor helps you understand how much power your appliances use. By understanding your energy consumption, you can take steps to reduce it. The Energy Monitor also includes surge protection to ensure your appliance is protected against surges and voltage spikes while being measured.

The device displays real-time energy consumption in Watts, and can estimate daily, monthly, and yearly energy usage in Kilowatt-hours (KWh).

Installation / Setup

Install Energy Monitor

The Energy Monitor tracks the power consumption of individual home appliances.

  1. Plug the Energy Monitor into a powered AC outlet.
  2. Plug an appliance into the Energy Monitor.

Perform Energy Monitor Configuration Setup

The Energy Monitor is preset with a default electricity rate of $0.12/KWH and a default carbon emission value of 0.49Kg/KWH. These values can be changed to match your local utility rates.

Electricity Rate Setup

Press and hold the COST button for 5 seconds to enter the electricity rate setup page.

Carbon Emission Value Setup

Carbon dioxide is emitted when producing electricity by burning coal and fossil fuels, contributing to a carbon footprint. The average carbon emission rate is 0.49Kg of carbon emission for every 1 KWH of electricity produced. This value can vary depending on your local electric utility and power source. Please contact your local utility for their specific carbon emission rate.

Press the CO2 button for 5 seconds to enter the carbon emission rate setup page.

Modes

There are 4 different modes available on the Energy Monitor:

  1. Energy Mode: Displays energy consumption information in real-time, daily, monthly, and yearly estimates (KWh).
  2. Cost Mode: Displays the cost of energy consumption in real-time, daily, monthly, and yearly estimates (in dollars).
  3. CO2 Mode: Displays the carbon emission data in real-time, daily, monthly, and yearly estimates (in Kg).
  4. Energy Count Mode: Tracks the total energy consumption or energy cost for each use of an appliance.

Cost Mode Details

In Cost Mode, press the COST button to switch between different energy cost displays.

CO2 Mode Details

In CO2 Mode, press the CO2 button to switch to display carbon emission data. The Energy Monitor can display carbon emission of the plug-in appliance in real-time, daily, monthly, and yearly estimates.

Energy Count Mode Details

Energy Count offers an easy way to find out how much total energy consumption or energy cost each time you use an appliance.

Product Warranty

TrickleStar warrants to the original purchaser of the TrickleStar Product for 1 year that the Product shall be free of defects in design, assembly, material, or workmanship. TrickleStar will repair or replace, at its option, any defective product free of charge.
