General Power Tool Safety Warnings
⚠️ WARNING! Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term "power tool" refers to mains-operated or battery-operated tools.
Work Area Safety
- Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
- Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres (e.g., presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust). Sparks from power tools may ignite dust or fumes.
- Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause loss of control.
Electrical Safety
- Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug. Do not use adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets reduce the risk of electric shock.
- Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces (pipes, radiators, ranges, refrigerators). Increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
- Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool increases the risk of electric shock.
- Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling, or unplugging. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
- When operating outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use.
- If operating in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
Personal Safety
- Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense. Do not use a power tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE). Always wear eye protection. Use dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hats, or hearing protection as appropriate.
- Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power or battery pack, or when carrying the tool.
- Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on.
- Do not overreach. Maintain proper footing and balance at all times for better control.
- Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair and clothing away from moving parts.
- If dust extraction facilities are provided, ensure they are connected and used properly.
- Do not let familiarity from frequent use lead to complacency. Careless actions can cause severe injury.
Power Tool Use and Care
- Do not force the power tool. Use the correct tool for your application.
- Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. It is dangerous and must be repaired.
- Disconnect the plug or remove the battery pack before making adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the tool.
- Store idle power tools out of reach of children. Do not allow untrained persons to operate the tool.
- Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment, binding, or breakage of parts. Have damaged tools repaired before use.
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
- Use the power tool, accessories, and bits in accordance with instructions, considering working conditions.
- Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
Battery Tool Use and Care
- Recharge only with the specified charger.
- Use power tools only with designated battery packs.
- When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from metal objects (paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws) that can short terminals. Shorting terminals may cause burns or fire.
- Avoid contact with battery liquid if ejected under abusive conditions. Flush with water if contact occurs. Seek medical help if liquid contacts eyes.
- Do not use a damaged or modified battery pack or tool.
- Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or excessive temperature (above 130°C).
- Follow all charging instructions and charge within the specified temperature range.
Service
- Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.
- Never service damaged battery packs. Service should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.
Drill Driver Safety Warnings
Safety Instructions for All Operations
- Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing operations where the cutting accessory or fasteners may contact hidden wiring. Contact with a "live" wire can make exposed metal parts "live" and cause electric shock.
Safety Instructions When Using Long Drill Bits
- Never operate at a speed higher than the maximum speed rating of the drill bit. Higher speeds can cause the bit to bend if allowed to rotate freely, resulting in injury.
- Always start drilling at low speed with the bit tip in contact with the workpiece.
- Apply pressure only in direct line with the bit; do not apply excessive pressure. Bits can bend, causing breakage or loss of control.
Additional Safety Warnings
- The product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience/knowledge, unless supervised by a person responsible for their safety. Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the product.
- Switch off the product immediately if the bit stalls. Do not switch it on again while stalled, as this could trigger a sudden recoil. Determine and rectify the cause of stalling (e.g., bit tilted, bit pierced workpiece, product overloaded).
- Operating temperature range for the tool: 0°C to 40°C.
- Storage temperature range for the tool: 0°C to 40°C.
- Recommended charging system temperature range: 10°C to 38°C.
Additional Battery Safety Warnings
- To reduce the risk of fire, injury, and product damage from short circuits, never immerse your tool, battery pack, or charger in fluid. Corrosive or conductive fluids can cause short circuits.
- Ambient temperature range for battery use: 0°C to 40°C.
- Ambient temperature range for battery storage: 0°C to 20°C.
Transporting Lithium Batteries
Transport batteries according to local and national regulations. Follow special requirements for packaging and labelling when transporting by a third party. Protect exposed connectors with insulating caps or tape. Do not transport cracked or leaking batteries. Consult the forwarding company for advice.
