First Time Setup

Automatic Pairing

To begin:

  1. Remove both earbuds from the charging case and peel off the protective stickers.
  2. Press and hold the touch sensor on each earbud for 3 seconds or more. A flashing blue and white light on one earbud indicates it is ready to pair with your device.

Connect Bluetooth

Select 'JLab Epic Air ANC' in your device's Bluetooth settings. An audible alert of two beeps followed by solid white lights indicates a successful connection.

Add New/Additional Bluetooth Devices

To connect a new device:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on any previously connected device.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth for the new device.
  3. Remove the earbuds from the charging case. They will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode.
  4. Select 'JLab Epic Air ANC' in the new device's settings to connect.

Control Buttons & Sound Alerts

The earbuds feature touch-sensitive controls on each earbud.

Right Touch Sensor Functions:

  • Volume Up: Single tap
  • Next Track: Press and hold for more than 1 second
  • Play/Pause: Double tap
  • Answer/End Call: Single tap
  • Reject Incoming Call: Press and hold for more than 1 second
  • Change EQ: Triple tap

Left Touch Sensor Functions:

  • Volume Down: Single tap
  • Previous Track: Press and hold for more than 1 second
  • Play/Pause: Double tap
  • Answer/End Call: Single tap
  • Reject Incoming Call: Press and hold for more than 1 second
  • Activate Voice Assistant (Siri/Google Assistant): Double tap

Sound Alerts:

  • Power On: Ring
  • Bluetooth Pairing: "Ready to Pair"
  • Epic Air ANC is ready to pair with your device
  • Be Aware / ANC ON / ANC OFF: Double tap
  • Bluetooth Connected: Two beeps
  • Earbud connected to device
  • Battery Full (80-100%)
  • Battery Medium (80-20%)
  • Battery Low: (Less than 20%. When battery drops to less than 10%, a "Battery Low" alert will sound once.)
  • Power Off: Ring

EQ Modes

Switch between different sound profiles to match your listening preference.

To activate Music/Movie EQ modes: Press and hold both touch sensors simultaneously for 3 seconds or more.

To change EQ settings: Triple tap any earbud. Sound alerts will indicate the selected EQ mode.

The JLab Epic Air ANC cycles through 4 EQ settings. Customize each EQ by downloading the JLab Sound app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • Balanced: JLab signature sound.
  • Bass Boost: JLab C3TM signature sound with amplified bass.
  • Vocal: Clear sound without additional audio effects.
  • Custom EQ: Download the JLab Sound app for customization.

Auto On/Off

Your earbuds are designed for convenience:

  • Auto Off & Charge: Placing the earbuds in the charging case automatically turns them off and begins charging. Blue LED lights indicate charging; solid white lights indicate a full charge.
  • Auto On & Connect: When you remove the earbuds from the charging case, they automatically power on and connect to the last paired device.

Charging Your Earbuds

Wireless Charging

Place the charging case on a wireless charging pad. White LED lights will flash while charging and turn solid white when fully charged.

Wired Charging

Connect the charging case to a computer or a USB charger (5 Volt 1 Amp or less). White LED lights will flash while charging and turn solid white when fully charged.

Fit and Comfort

For the best fit and audio seal, try all included ear tips. Insert the earbud into your ear canal and twist slightly to adjust for a secure and comfortable fit.

Find Your Fit with Tile

Install the Tile app and activate it to help locate your earbuds. Visit intl.jlab.com/tileapp to learn more. Note: Activating the Tile app may reduce earbud playtime.

Troubleshooting & Resetting

No Sound in One Earbud or Disconnected Earbuds – Manual Reset

If you experience issues with one earbud or connectivity:

  1. Go to your device's Bluetooth settings and tap 'Forget JLab Epic Air ANC'. (See Figure A)
  2. Keep both earbuds in the charging case. On one earbud, tap the touch sensor 7 times quickly. The indicator light will flash blue 4 times. (See Figure B)
  3. Repeat step 2 with the other earbud. (See Figure C)
  4. Remove both earbuds from the charging case. Wait for one earbud to turn solid white and the other to flash blue/white. You are now ready to pair with your Bluetooth device.

Bluetooth Device Not Connecting / Reconnecting

If your device is not connecting or reconnecting:

  1. Go to your device's Bluetooth settings and tap 'Forget JLab Epic Air ANC'. (See Figure A)
  2. Turn your device's Bluetooth off and then on again. (See Figure B)
  3. Remove the earbuds from the charging case. Wait for one earbud to turn solid white and the other to flash blue/white.
  4. Select 'JLab Epic Air ANC' in your device settings to reconnect.

Caution & Quick Tips

Caution:

  • Completely dry the earbuds before placing them in the charging case. If the earbuds are wet, it may cause damage to the charging case. The warranty will be voided if the charging case is damaged by water or sweat.
  • Avoid getting any moisture or liquids into the earbud or charging port.
  • Avoid exposing the earbuds to extreme heat, cold, or humidity.
  • Avoid dropping or crushing the earbuds, straining the wire, or bending it at sharp angles.

Quick Tips:

  • Either the right or left earbud can be used independently for music and phone calls. Simply remove one from the case to connect.
  • Only one Bluetooth device can be connected at a time. Turn off Bluetooth on unwanted devices and turn it on for the desired device to connect.
  • Completely dry the earbuds before placing them in the charging case to prevent any damage.
  • Earwax buildup can reduce sound quality. Carefully clean earwax using a cotton swab or other fine tools.
  • If you experience any pain, try lowering the volume or discontinuing use of the earbuds for a short period. If pain persists, stop use and consult a doctor.
  • Treat your earbuds with care, similar to how you would handle glasses; keep them in a safe place when not in use.
