Power on the speaker SHORT PRESS the power button to turn on your BOOM 3. 2. Pair your phone to the speaker PRESS AND HOLD the Bluetooth® button to put it in the pairing mode. Go to Bluetooth® setting on your phone and select BOOM 3 to connect. Use the Magic Button USE THE MAGIC BUTTON TO CONTROL YOUR MUSIC. SHORT PRESS to play and pause. DOUBLE PRESS to skip a track. Adjust volume Press the "+/-" button to increase/decrease volume. BOOM 3 FAQs 4 Charge your speaker LIFT THE WEATHER DOOR to charge using the USB cable. Pairing additional devices After you pair the first device, here's how to pair additional devices: 1. Turn the speaker on. 2. Hold down the Bluetooth® button until you hear a tone. NOTE: The Bluetooth® connection button will blink rapidly, indicating that the speaker is ready for pairing. 3. On your device, go to the Bluetooth® menu and scan for devices. 4. Select the name of your speaker from the list of devices. Once paired and connected, you'll hear an audible confirmation from the speaker. Your speaker is now ready to use with the device you added. Reconnecting to a device To reconnect a device to your Ultimate Ears speaker after the initial pairing or after pairing another device: 1. Turn the speaker on 2. Always thoroughly rinse and dry your speaker, micro-USB port and charging ring with fresh water after using it in a swimming pool or the ocean. While the speaker is waterproof, the chemicals and salt in your pool or the ocean can damage the waterproof seals over time if not rinsed off after use. Can I use my speaker to make phone calls? No, MEGABOOM 3 doesn't support voice calls. Does my speaker have a voice assistant feature? No, MEGABOOM 3 doesn't have a voice assistant feature. Can I stream music through the auxiliary port? No, MEGABOOM 3 doesn't have auxiliary ports. The app does not recognise the speaker in iOS 13 After updating to iOS 13, you will need to allow the app to access Bluetooth®. To do so, in your iOS Settings, go to your speaker's app settings and turn on the Bluetooth access. In case you have installed the app after the iOS update, you will be prompted with a message requesting Bluetooth access for the app. In this case, just click on "OK" to give access. Music drops out occasionally If you're having trouble with audio distortion or drop-outs on your speaker, try these suggestions: Move the audio source closer -- it might be out of the range of your speaker. Move away from other sources of wireless signal (microwave, routers, cordless phones, etc.) -- you could be experiencing interference. Make sure your speaker has enough battery power (connect it to a power source with the supplied adapter). Adjust the volume on both the audio source and your speaker. Restart both your speaker and the audio source. Re-pair your device with your speaker. I can't connect to my device If your Bluetooth® device won't connect to your Ultimate Ears speaker, try the following: Make sure your speaker is turned on. Make sure your device is paired with your speaker and Bluetooth is active. Place your Bluetooth® device closer to the speaker -- it might be out of range. Move your Bluetooth device and speaker away from other wireless sources -- you could be experiencing interference. Turn your speaker off, and then back on again. If you have multiple speakers, make sure you're connected to the correct one. NOTE: If this is the first time you're pairing a device with your speaker, you don't need to press the Bluetooth connection button. It comes out of the box ready to pair. You'll see a screen with your speaker name, speaker image, the features available for your speaker, and access to speaker settings. You are now ready to use the app to take advantage of all the features of your speaker. Setting up Alexa BLAST and MEGABLAST are all far-field voice-enabled speakers and when turned on, all you need to do is say, "Alexa" and then your request. The speaker will automatically hear you and respond. If the speaker is turned off, you'll need to power it on for the far-field voice capability to work. Check your Alexa app and see if your speaker is online. ** Ask Alexa -- say "Alexa, whose account is this?" and she will tell you which account is connected. ** Here's how to check if your speaker is online in the Alexa app: Launch the Alexa app. Tap the Home icon on the top left (three horizontal lines). Tap Settings. All of your Alexa-enabled devices should be listed as well as their connectivity status. If your Amazon account is from a supported country (United States, United Kingdom or Germany), you'll be able to use Alexa regardless of where you travel. Alexa will continue to function when you travel outside of these countries. Once you're up on the latest app and speaker software, follow the steps below: BOOM 3 FAQs 11 1. Connect the first speaker (host) to your phone or tablet then open your ULTIMATE EARS speaker app. 2. On the home screen of the app, swipe the screen from right to left to get to the PartyUp screen. 3. Guest speakers will start to appear in the drawer (bottom of the PartyUp screen). Drag and drop the guest speakers you want to join the party. 4. To boot a guest speaker from the party, just drag and drop in back into the drawer or just turn it off. Note: If the guest speaker is not set as a public speaker, you will see a message with an extra step before that guest speaker can join the party. The owner of that speaker will need to press the Bluetooth button twice on their speaker. The following speakers can join the party: ULTIMATE EARS Boom 3 ULTIMATE EARS BOOM 2 ULTIMATE EARS BOOM ULTIMATE EARS MEGABOOM 3 ULTIMATE EARS MEGABOOM HYPERBOOM Volume Control When your speakers first enter the party, the volume of each guest speaker will sync up to the volume of the host speaker. If the volume of the host speaker is adjusted, the volume of all host speakers will also be adjusted. The volume of each guest speaker can also be adjusted individually. If you want the volume of all speakers in the party to sync up again, you can tap the volume sync icon in the PartyUp screen of the app. Public Settings The privacy setting in the PartyUp Settings allows you to control your speaker's promiscuity. If you want your speaker to be able to join any party, make sure the setting is ON. If you'd rather your speaker has more discretion, turn the setting off. But don't worry, if you prefer privacy, and still want to join a party, just double tap the bluetooth button once the host asks your speaker to join the party. BOOM 3 FAQs 12 Trouble logging to Amazon Amazon login skipped during setup? This can happen for a couple of reasons: You've already signed into the Amazon shopping app on your mobile device. You've already accepted Alexa's terms and conditions for your speaker (if you've set up your speaker already and have reset it or are setting it up again) If this happens, sign out of your Amazon app then follow the steps below to sign into your account from the Ultimate Ears app. 1. In the Ultimate Ears app, in the top right, tap the Gear icon to go to speaker settings. 2. Find the Amazon Alexa section and tap it to sign into your account. 3. Tap Sign In to add your Amazon account.
