Manylightswillilluminatewhenyoustartyourvehicletomakesurethe bulbswork.Ifanylightremainsonafterstartingthevehicle,havethe respectivesystem inspectedimmediately.
Ifyourvehicleisequippedwithadieselengine,ithasauniquecluster, refertoStartingtheengineinyour6.0LiterPowerStrokeDirect InjectionTurboDieselOwner'sGuideSupplement.
Serviceenginesoon:TheService enginesoonindicatorlight illuminateswhentheignitionisfirst turnedtotheONpositiontocheck thebulb.SolidilluminationaftertheengineisstartedindicatestheOn BoardDiagnosticsSystem (OBD-II)hasdetectedamalfunction.Referto Onboarddiagnostics(OBD-II)intheMaintenanceandSpecifications chapter.Ifthelightisblinking,enginemisfireisoccurringwhichcould damageyourcatalyticconverter.Driveinamoderatefashion(avoid heavyaccelerationanddeceleration)andhaveyourvehicleserviced immediately.
Underenginemisfireconditions,excessiveexhausttemperatures coulddamagethecatalyticconverter,thefuelsystem,interior floorcoveringsorothervehiclecomponents,possiblycausingafire.

Electronicthrottlecontrol: Illuminateswhentheenginehas defaultedtoa'limp-home'operation. Reportthefaulttoanauthorized dealerattheearliestopportunity.

Onvehiclesequippedwithamessagecenter,"ENGINEFAILSAFE MODE"willbedisplayed,refertoMessageCenterintheDriver Controlschapter.

Brakesystem warninglight:To confirm thebrakesystem warning

lightisfunctional,itwill momentarilyilluminatewhenthe

BRAKE

ignitionisturnedtotheONposition

whentheengineisnotrunning,orinapositionbetweenONandSTART,

orbyapplyingtheparkingbrakewhentheignitionisturnedtotheON

position.Ifthebrakesystem warninglightdoesnotilluminateatthis

time,seekserviceimmediatelyfrom yourauthorizeddealer.Illumination

Drivingavehiclewiththebrakesystem warninglightonis dangerous.Asignificantdecreaseinbrakingperformancemay occur.Itwilltakeyoulongertostopthevehicle.Havethevehicle checkedbyyourauthorizeddealerimmediately.

Anti-lockbrakesystem:Ifthe

ABSlightstaysilluminatedor continuestoflash,amalfunctionhas

ABS

beendetected,havethesystem

servicedimmediately.Normal

brakingisstillfunctionalunlessthebrakewarninglightalsois

illuminated.

Airbagreadiness:Ifthislightfails toilluminatewhenignitionisturned toON,continuestoflashorremains on,havethesystem serviced immediately.Achimewillalsosoundwhenamalfunctioninthe supplementalrestraintsystem hasbeendetected.

Safetybelt:Remindsyoutofasten yoursafetybelt.Achimewillalso soundtoremindyoutofastenyour safetybelt.

Chargingsystem:Illuminateswhen thebatteryisnotchargingproperly.

TransmissionTow/HaulFeature (automatictransmission): IlluminateswhentheTow/Haul featurehasbeenactivated.Referto theDrivingchapterfortransmissionfunctionandoperation.Ifthelight flashessteadily,havethesystem servicedimmediately,damagetothe transmissioncouldoccur.

ParkingbrakeON warningchime:Soundswhentheparkingbrakeis set,theengineisrunningandthevehicleisdrivenmorethan3mph (5km).
