3 Definitions

3.1 Radio Code

Each transmitter button emits its own specific radio code. Changing the transmission number on the transmitter also changes the emitted radio code. Radio codes are distinguished by their coding:

3.2 Transmission Number

When a button is pressed in the "Multichannel Industrial Remote Control" function, a number briefly appears on the display. This number is referred to as the transmission number in this manual. In some cases, this number may serve as a portal/hall or system number.

3.3 Identification Number

The identification number can be selected between 0 and 999. If two or more transmitters have identical identification numbers, the receiver will not be able to distinguish between them. For example, if a receiver is programmed to recognize one transmitter, all other transmitters with the same identification number will be automatically recognized by the receiver. The identification number can also be used for group management. It can, for example, serve as a hall/system number, and the displayed transmission number can serve as a portal number.

5 Safety Instructions

5.1 Symbols Used

5.2 Fundamental Safety Instructions

Please read these instructions thoroughly before assembly and commissioning, and observe all safety instructions before starting work. Keep these instructions and instruct every user about the potential risks associated with this product. Pass these instructions on to the new owner in case of a change of ownership. The warranty and guarantee are void in case of damage resulting from improper use or incorrect installation. The remote control must be kept out of reach of children and may only be used by persons who have been familiarized with the operation of the remotely controlled system. Remote control of gates with a single safety device may only be operated with direct visual contact! When programming the receiver, ensure that no object or person is located in the danger zone of the remotely controlled system! Any technical modification is prohibited! Remote control of apparatus and installations with a high accident risk (e.g., crane installations) is prohibited! Observe the applicable local directives.

Failure to comply with these safety instructions may cause bodily injury and material damage!

6 Intended Use

This radio transmitter is intended for the remote control of wireless systems without specific safety requirements. This presupposes compatibility between the radio transmitter and the radio receiver. The following factors from the technical specifications must therefore be identical:

Radio remote controls are only approved for devices and installations where radio interference from the transmitter or receiver does not endanger people or material, or where this risk is covered by other safety devices. The user must be aware that the remote control of installations presenting an accident risk should only take place, if at all, with direct visual contact with the installation and if no person, animal, or object is within the range of movement. Remote controls must be stored in such a way that unintentional activation, e.g., by children or animals, is excluded.

Radio remote controls used operate on generally permitted frequencies (ISM bands). The operator of these radio remote controls does not enjoy any protection against interference from other radio installations or devices (e.g., radio installations operating on the same frequency band as baby monitors, intercoms, etc.).

Any other use beyond the intended use is considered non-compliant, and the manufacturer assumes no liability in such cases. The risk and responsibility lie with the assembler, installer, or operator.

7 Storage and Transport Conditions

Failure to comply may cause malfunctions, even after commissioning! Only transport with adequate, padded additional packaging. Protect the remote control from the following influences:

Upon delivery, the transmitter is in "Linear Code 999" mode. This means that when a transmission/channel button (A, B, or C) is pressed, an 18-bit linear code 999 is emitted, and the screen displays the transmission number used for approximately 2 seconds. To conserve battery power, the screen turns off after two seconds of transmission. The "999" in the operating mode name signifies that a transmission number between 0 and 999 can be selected using the dial pad. Each new transmission number corresponds to a new 3-channel remote control. Therefore, a single industrial remote control (ISN) can replace 1000 3-channel remote controls.

If the "Linear Code 999" operating mode is not suitable, the industrial remote control can be set to another operating mode by pressing a combination of buttons (see Chapter 10 "Transmitter Configuration" on page 9). An overview of the functions of the different operating modes can be found in Chapter 9 "Overview and Functions of Operating Modes" on page 8.

10.3 Identification Number (Duplicating the Transmitter)

It is possible to assign an identification number to all industrial remote controls. This number consists of three digits that the user can freely choose on the transmitter. Transmitters with the same identification number are identical for the controlled receiver. This means that transmitters can be organized into groups, which facilitates the structuring of large installations.

The use, configuration, or display of the identification number is only possible in the "Linear Code 999 + Identification Number" or "Linear Code 15 + Identification Number" operating modes.

10.4 Programming the Transmitter Button to the Receiver

The procedure depends on each receiver. Program the desired transmitter buttons onto the receiver as described in the user manual of the respective receiver.

10.5 Adjusting the Brightness of the 7-Segment Display

The display has three brightness levels that can be adjusted using a combination of the DEL and buttons 1, 2, or 3. The highest brightness level is achieved with DEL and 3.

  1. Press and hold the DEL button.
  2. Adjust the desired brightness by pressing buttons 1, 2, or 3.

Note: Brightness adjustment can only be modified in the following operating modes and is then valid for ALL modes: Linear Code 999, Rolling Code 499.

Upon delivery, the brightness is set to 2.

Note: ℹ️ Adjusting the brightness affects the battery life of the transmitter; the lowest brightness setting will significantly extend battery life.

10.6 Favorites Button (Quick Selection Button)

The M favorites button allows you to save a transmission number and can be used as a quick selection button.

  1. Enter the desired transmission number using the dial pad.
  2. Press and hold the M button. The saving is completed as soon as the desired number flashes rapidly on the screen.

11 Displaying the Software Version

  1. Press the DEL, M, and C buttons in any order and hold them down simultaneously. After these buttons are pressed, the current mode will be displayed on the screen.
  2. Press the 0 button to display the software version.

12 Range

Typically up to 100 m in open terrain. The achieved range at the place of use depends on the position of the receiver and transmitter, as well as the receiver's antenna position. The range may be reduced when obstacles with a shielding effect are located between the transmitter and receiver, such as metal walls or reinforced concrete walls.

13 Battery Replacement

If the message Lo bAt appears on the screen, the batteries must be replaced. Use only branded batteries to ensure maximum battery life.

  1. Open the battery compartment cover by unscrewing the screw on the back of the transmitter housing.
  2. Remove the battery compartment cover.
  3. Remove the four batteries.
  4. Install four new AA/LR6 alkaline batteries.
  5. Close the battery compartment cover. To do this, slide the cover into the groove provided at the bottom and then screw the battery compartment screw back in.

14 Environmental Protection / Disposal

The product is manufactured exclusively with components that comply with the RoHS standard. Old and defective devices, components, or batteries must be disposed of properly at a collection center and must not be thrown away with household waste!
