Important Tips
- Place the turntable on a level surface.
- Position the turntable away from sources of heat or vibrations.
- Ensure at least 10cm clearance around the turntable for proper airflow.
- Unplug the turntable before cleaning.
- Clean using only a dry cloth; avoid water or chemicals.
- Use only the provided power supply.
- Keep liquids, children, and pets away from the turntable at all times.
- Repack the turntable in its original packaging for transportation.
Before First Use
- Unpack the product but retain all packaging materials until you confirm the product is undamaged and working correctly. Plastic wrapping can pose a suffocation hazard to babies and young children; keep all packaging materials out of their reach.
- Unwind the power cord completely and inspect for damage. Do not use the product or its cord if damaged or not working properly. Contact after-sales support for advice on examination, repair, or return of damaged products.
- Read this manual thoroughly to understand all parts and operating principles.
- Do not connect the product to the mains power socket until you have checked the mains voltage and completed all other connections.
Connect to Power
⚠️ Make sure the turntable is switched off at the power outlet until all cables are connected.
- Connect the DC plug into the DC port of the turntable.
- Plug the AC power adapter into the AC power outlet.
- Connect the provided speakers by inserting the red plug into the R socket and the white plug into the L socket.
Diagram Description: The process of connecting power is shown. The turntable is depicted with its DC power port. A power adapter is plugged into a wall socket, with cables leading to the turntable. The speakers are shown with their red and white plugs being inserted into the corresponding jacks on the turntable. A cartoon speaker character's speech bubble advises: "Don't forget to plug in the turntable to the power outlet. Leave the power switched off until installation is finished."
Controls and Connections
Product Overview
Diagram Description: Two diagrams illustrate the product. The top diagram provides a top-down view of the turntable, labeling key components from 1 to 7. The bottom diagram shows a side view of the turntable and speakers, labeling components from 8 to 12.
Labeled Components:
- 1. Turntable platter
- 2. Power/Volume knob
- 3. Cartridge (stylus assembly)
- 4. Speed adjustment: 33, 45, 78rpm
- 5. Auto stop control
- 6. Tone arm
- 7. Adaptor (when playing 45rpm records)
- 8. AUX IN port
- 9. Speaker jack
- 10. DC power jack
- 11. Transparent cover
- 12. Speakers
Operation
Power On and Mode Selection
- Turn on the unit using the POWER/VOLUME Knob. A doorbell sound indicates Bluetooth® mode is active.
- When the tone arm is placed on a vinyl record, the turntable switches to vinyl mode, and Bluetooth® mode is automatically disabled. Placing the tone arm back on its rest switches it back to Bluetooth® mode.
Playing a Record
- Turn on the unit using the POWER/VOLUME KNOB and adjust the volume to a suitable level.
- Place a record on the turntable platter and select the correct playing speed (33, 45, or 78 RPM) according to the vinyl being played.
- Set the auto/manual stop control. If the AUTO STOP switch is set to ON, the turntable will stop automatically at the end of a 33 RPM record. If set to OFF, it will continue spinning.
- Remove the stylus guard and unlock the tone arm lock. Push the lift lever upwards to raise the tone arm, then gently move the tone arm to the desired position over the record. The platter will start spinning as the tone arm approaches the record.
- Push the lift lever forward to lower the tone arm slowly onto the record to begin playback.
- When finished playing, push the lift lever backward to raise the tone arm and gently return it to its rest.
- Engage the tone arm lock to prevent accidental movement. Turn the POWER KNOB to switch the unit OFF. Unplug from the power supply if not in use for an extended period.
- NOTE: If your record stops before the last track finishes, set the AUTO STOP switch to OFF. The record will play to the end, but you will need to stop the turntable manually.
- NOTE: Depending on the record length, AUTO STOP may engage before the recording finishes. Do not rely solely on AUTO STOP to end playback.
Diagram Description: A close-up illustration shows the stylus assembly with the stylus guard in place, labeling the "Stylus ('Needle')", "Stylus assembly", and "Stylus guard". Text advises: "To avoid damaging the stylus, ensure that the included stylus guard is in place whenever the turntable is being installed, moved or cleaned."
Playing Music from an Auxiliary Input
- Turn on the unit using the POWER/VOLUME KNOB and adjust the volume to an appropriate level.
- Connect an external audio device to the AUX IN socket at the back of the unit using a 3.5mm Stereo cable.
- Use the POWER/VOLUME KNOB to adjust the volume or use the controls on the external audio device to manage playback and volume.
Tips for Better Performance
- When opening or closing the turntable cover, handle it gently, supporting it from the center or both sides.
- Avoid touching the stylus tip with your fingers. Do not bump the stylus on the turntable mat or the edge of the record.
- Clean the stylus tip regularly with a soft brush, using a back-to-front motion only.
- If using stylus cleaning fluid, apply it very sparingly.
- Wipe the dust cover and turntable housing gently with a soft cloth. Clean the unit only with a dry, clean cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
- Never apply harsh chemicals or solvents to any part of the turntable system.
- Before moving the turntable, always unplug it from the AC power outlet and secure the tone arm to its rest with the vinyl twist-tie.
Replacing the Stylus
Diagram Description: An 8-step visual guide illustrates the process of replacing the stylus:
- Push the arm lock to release the tone arm.
- Remove the cap from the cartridge to expose the needle.
- Separate the cartridge from the cartridge holder by loosening the locker.
- Gently pull the audio lines from the cartridge, ensuring you pull from the terminal connector, not the wire itself.
- Carefully insert the audio-line connector into the new cartridge.
- Ensure the audio-lines are not touching each other.
- Carefully slide the cartridge into the cartridge holder.
- Gently clip the cartridge into the cartridge holder.
A cartoon speaker character's speech bubble advises: "Be very careful when changing the stylus cartridge, to avoid damage to the tone arm and audio wires."
Bluetooth®
You can listen to music from a media device connected wirelessly via Bluetooth®.
Pairing Bluetooth® Devices
- When the turntable is switched on and the tone arm is on its rest, Bluetooth® mode is automatically activated.
- For the first-time use, pair your Bluetooth® device with the turntable. Activate Bluetooth on your compatible device and search for compatible devices.
- Select the speaker name: 'BAUHN ARTTS-0821' from the list of found devices.
- If your device prompts for a passkey (depending on manufacturer, model, and software version), enter "0000" and press OK.
⚠️ The operational range between this turntable and a Bluetooth® device is approximately 10 meters, reduced by obstacles. Ensure you know your device's capabilities, as compatibility with all Bluetooth devices is not guaranteed.
If the signal strength is weak, your Bluetooth® receiver may disconnect but will automatically re-enter pairing mode.
If a mobile phone connected for music playback receives a call, the music will be interrupted. The phone call audio will not play through the speakers. Playback resumes once the call ends.
Your device will also disconnect if moved beyond the operational range. To reconnect, place the device back within the operational range.
If the connection is lost, follow the pairing instructions again.
