Water may reach very high temperatures during the wash cycle.
2. Installation
Transportation Screws: Remove the 2 or 4 transportation screws (A) and associated washers, bungs, and spacer tubes (B) from the back of the appliance (Figure 1). For built-in models, unscrew 3 or 4 screws. If spacer tubes fall inside, tilt the product forward to recover them. Cover the screw holes with the provided plastic caps.
Keep packaging materials away from children.
Base Placement: Place the corrugated plastic sheet (found on top during unpacking) into the base of the appliance (Figure 2). This may already be in place on some models.
Hydraulic Connections: Connect the water hose to the water supply tap using only the supplied hose (Figure 3). Do not reuse old hose-sets.
- HOT&COLD (Figure 4): For energy savings, connect the grey tube to the cold water tap and the red tube to the hot water tap. Connection to cold water only is possible; some programs may start later.
- AQUASTOP (Figure 5): This device on the supply tube stops water flow if the tube deteriorates. A red mark in window "A" indicates a problem, and the tube must be replaced. Press the one-way lock device "B" to unscrew the nut.
- AQUAPROTECT (Figure 6): If water leaks from the primary tube "A", the transparent containment sheath "B" will hold it to allow cycle completion. Contact Customer Service to replace the supply tube.
Setting and Leveling:
- Ensure the water fill hose is not kinked or trapped.
- Insert the corrugated drain hose into a suitable drain pipe (height 50-85 cm) using the curved support (Figure 7). For under-sink connections, route the hose above the sink's overfill opening to prevent back-siphoning. Avoid kinking the drain hose.
- Level the appliance using the adjustable feet (Figure 8): turn the nut clockwise to release the screw, rotate the foot to adjust height, and lock the foot by screwing in the nut.
- Plug in the appliance.
Contact Customer Service if the power cord needs replacement. Installation faults are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
3. Detergent Drawer
The drawer has 3 compartments (Figure 9):
- Compartment "1": For prewash detergent.
- Compartment " ": For special additives like softeners, starch, fragrances. Only use liquid products; the machine automatically doses additives during the last rinse.
- Compartment "2": For washing detergent.
Some models include a liquid detergent cup (Figure 10) to be placed in compartment "2" for controlled liquid detergent dispensing. It can also be used for bleach with the "Rinse" program.
Some detergents come with their own dispenser to be placed directly in the drum.
Models with automatic dosage precisely measure detergent and softener. Refer to the "Controls and Programs" chapter for details.
4. Practical Hints
Load Tips:
- Remove metallic objects (hair clips, pins, coins) from laundry.
- Button pillowcases, close zips, tie belts and ribbons.
- Remove rollers, hooks, or clips from curtains.
- Check clothing washing labels.
- Remove persistent stains with specific detergents.
- For rugs, bedcovers, or heavy clothing, consider avoiding the spin cycle.
- For wool, ensure items are machine washable by checking the fabric label.
- Leave the door slightly open between washes to prevent odors.
Maximise Load Size: Washing a full load saves energy, water, detergent, and time (up to 50% energy by washing one full load instead of two half loads).
Pre-wash: Only select Prewash for heavily soiled laundry. Not selecting it for slight to normally soiled laundry saves detergent, time, water, and 5-15% energy.
Hot Wash: Pretreat stains or soak dried stains to reduce the need for hot washes. Use low-temperature programs to save energy.
Drying Programs (Washer-Dryers): Select a high spin speed before drying to reduce water content and save energy and time.
Saving Advice:
- Load the machine to its highest capacity for each program to save energy and water.
- Spin speed affects noise and residual moisture; faster spins mean more noise and less moisture.
- Longer-lasting programs at lower temperatures are usually most efficient in water and energy use.
Detergent Dosing:
- Use only detergents suitable for machine washing.
- Select detergent based on fabric type, color, soiling level, and temperature.
- Follow manufacturer instructions for correct dosage to avoid waste and reduce environmental impact.
Detergent Types:
- Heavily soiled whites: Use cotton programs (60°C+) with normal, heavy-duty powder containing bleaching agents.
- 40°C-60°C washes: Use powders for whites/colorfast fabrics with high soiling, or liquid/color-protecting powders for colored fabrics with light soiling.
- Below 40°C: Use liquid detergents or those labeled for low-temperature washing.
- Wool/Silk: Use detergents specifically formulated for these fabrics.
Too much detergent causes excessive foam, hindering correct cycle execution and affecting wash/rinse quality.
Ecological Detergents: May cause cloudier rinse water (harmless), white powder residue (zeolites, removable with a rinse cycle), or foam. Adjust detergent dosage if issues persist. Contact Customer Service for persistent problems or suspected malfunctions.
5. Cleaning and Maintenance
Correct maintenance extends appliance lifespan.
Exterior Cleaning: Disconnect power. Clean with a damp cloth, avoiding abrasives, alcohol, and diluents.
Drawer Cleaning: Regularly clean the detergent drawer to prevent residue buildup.
- Remove the drawer gently but firmly.
- Fill the drawer with hot water and shake to let water flow into compartments.
- Clean under running water and reinsert.
For Models with Automatic Dosing: Ensure compartments are empty before cleaning. Pull out the drawer by pressing the release button, being mindful of detergent residue. Empty excess water and reinsert.
DO NOT use acid products (e.g., vinegar) or aggressive detergents to clean the drawer, as they can damage seals and internal parts.
Pump Filter Cleaning: The filter traps residues like buttons or coins that could block the draining system (Figure 12). Check and clean the filter 5-6 times a year.
- Disconnect power.
- Ensure the drum is empty of water.
- Place an absorbent cloth under the filter to catch residual water.
- Turn the filter counter-clockwise to the stop.
- Remove and clean the filter. Replace by turning clockwise until locked (handle horizontal). A small amount of liquid soap on the seal can aid refitting.
- Reverse steps to reassemble.
Moves or Prolonged Disuse: If the appliance is stored in a non-heated room, completely remove water from pipes.
- Disconnect power.
- Detach the drain tube from the drainage system, lower it into a bowl, and drain all water.
- Secure the drain tube to the rear of the machine.
- Keep the door glass and gasket clean.
For Models with Automatic Dosing: Remove the detergent drawer before tilting or moving the machine, keeping it horizontal to prevent leakage.
