The Everbilt Thermal Expansion Tank is designed to absorb excess pressure in a closed potable water system, preventing damage to plumbing fixtures and appliances.
Safety Information
WARNING: Read all instructions completely before installation. Only qualified personnel should install or service this equipment according to local codes and ordinances. Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service, or maintenance can cause property damage, severe injury, or death.
WARNING: A relief valve must be installed to prevent pressure exceeding local code requirements or the product's maximum working pressure. Failure to inspect the relief valve could lead to unsafe temperature or pressure build-up, resulting in product failure, property damage, or serious injury.
WARNING: Do not exceed 80 psi (5.5 bar) air charge. Exceeding this pressure can be hazardous and will void the warranty. Failure to follow these instructions could result in property damage, injury, or death.
WARNING: This expansion tank is designed for water storage up to a maximum pressure of 150 psi (10.3 bar) and a maximum temperature of 200 °F (93 °C). Use for anything other than potable water, or at pressures exceeding 150 psi (10.3 bar) or temperatures exceeding 200 °F (93 °C), is unsafe and may cause property damage, injury, or death.

Warranty
Everbilt warrants this product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for five (5) years from the date of purchase. This warranty applies to the original purchaser and for products used in normal service. The manufacturer's obligation is limited to repair or replacement of the product at their discretion, provided it has not been damaged through misuse, accident, alteration, modification, or mishandling. The warranty does not cover the finish, which is subject to normal wear and tear.

Installation
1. Preparing the Installation
- Visually inspect the expansion tank (A) for any damage.
- Use a water pressure gauge to measure the pressure in the water system.
- Adjust the air pressure in the expansion tank (A) to match the water system pressure.
- Replace and tighten the plastic cap on the air fitting.

2. Installing the Expansion Tank
- Drain the water system or isolate the area where the expansion tank (A) will be installed.
- Install the expansion tank (A) on the supply side of the water heater, or on the suction side of the heating circulator. Use a hanger strap to support the weight of the expansion tank (A), if needed.
- Re-pressurize the system and check for leaks. Repair as necessary.
- Restart the water heater system and check for relief valve discharge. If the relief valve drips, the expansion tank may be improperly charged or undersized.
Important Note: If installing using a saddle valve, the expansion tank must hang vertically, directly below the copper pipe.
