Product Overview and Specifications
Introduction
The First Co. UC Series offers a range of wall mount fan coils designed as upflow indoor air handlers for use with split-system heat pumps or condensing units. These units are compatible with R410A refrigerant and are intended for servicing existing equipment. They provide efficient cooling or heating capabilities, with options for electric heat up to 10 kW or hydronic heating.
Key features include galvanized steel cabinets, insulated construction, sloped condensate pans for proper drainage, and removable doors with captive screws for easy service access. Drain piping flexibility is offered, allowing connections from the bottom, front, left, or right side.
The series includes models such as UCO (Electric Heat w/PSC Motor), UCX (Electric Heat w/ECM Motor), UCOW (Hydronic Heat w/PSC Motor & DX Coil for Cooling), UCOQ (Hydronic Heat w/Circulator Pump & PSC Motor), UCXW (Hydronic Heat w/ECM Motor & DX Coil for Cooling), and UCXRX (Hydronic Heat w/Hi Flow Pump & ECM Motor).

The model numbering system provides detailed configuration information:

UNIT SIZE: Indicates cooling capacity (e.g., 18, 19 for 18,000 BTUH, 25 for 24,000 BTUH, 30 for 30,000 BTUH, 37 for 36,000 BTUH).
SERIES: UCO, UCX, etc.
HEAT OPTION: Specifies heating type and capacity (e.g., 00 - No Heat, 03 - 3 KW, W3 - 3 Row HW, R3 - 3 Row Hi Flow Pump HW).
MOTOR TYPE: 0 - PSC, X - ECM Multispeed.
VOLTAGE: 1 - 120/1/60, 2 - 208-230/1/60.

UCO Series: Electric Heat w/PSC Motor
The UCO series features electric heat with a PSC motor, designed as an upflow indoor air handler.
Standard Features:
- 240V motor, 24V controls
- Factory installed disconnect with electric heat only
- Factory or field installed electric heat (on heater kit units only)
- Separate compartment for drain connections
- Drain pan with 3/4" male or female primary and secondary fittings
- High efficiency cooling coil
- Convenient equalizer connection for factory or field installed TXVs (non-bleed type)
- Easily accessible 1" filter
- Cabinet air leakage ≤ 2% (ASHRAE 193)
- Wall hanging brackets included
Optional Features:
Optional accessories include field installed Heater Kits, factory or field installed TXV Kits (non-bleed type), Wall Panels with Captive Screws, Condensate Overflow Switch, Closet Hanger Bracket Kit, and Bottom Return Air Kit.

UCOW Series: Hydronic Heat w/PSC Motor & DX Coil for Cooling
The UCOW series combines hydronic heating with a PSC motor and a DX coil for cooling, suitable for use with tankless water heaters or boilers.
Features:
- Compatible with gas-fired water heaters or boilers up to 45,300 BTUH hydronic heat.
- High efficiency cooling coil.
- Accessible HW connections.
- Optional features include Wall Panels, TXV Kits, Condensate Overflow Switch, Closet Hanger Bracket Kit, and Bottom Return Air Kit.
- Unique feature for recessed wall applications: hot water coil can be removed without drywall modification.

UCOQ Series: Hydronic Heat w/Circulator Pump & PSC Motor
The UCOQ series is designed for hydronic heating with a circulator pump and PSC motor, compatible with gas-fired water heaters or boilers.
Features:
- Compatible with gas-fired water heaters or boilers up to 45,300 BTUH hydronic heat.
- All coil connections are sweat.
- Optional features include Wall Panels, TXV Kits, Condensate Overflow Switch, Closet Hanger Bracket Kit, and Bottom Return Air Kit.

UCXRX Series: Hydronic Heat w/Hi Flow Pump & ECM Motor
The UCXRX series is designed for high efficiency with a hi-flow pump and ECM motor, specifically for use with tankless water heaters, providing both domestic hot water and space heating.
Features:
- High efficiency ECM motor.
- Special circulating pump for tankless heaters.
- Includes HW check valve, air purge valve, hot water coil, cooling coil, and multi-function circuit board.
- Compatible with any source of hot water up to 180°F and NSF/ANSI certified for domestic water use.
- Can be installed in closets or recessed in walls.
