First use
Dishware
High temperatures and detergent may damage some items. Refer to manufacturer guidance or hand wash if unsure.
- Cutlery & silverware: Rinse immediately after use to prevent tarnishing. Avoid contact between silver and stainless steel. Remove silver cutlery and hand dry.
- Aluminium: May be dulled by detergent.
- Other metals: Iron and cast iron can rust; copper, pewter, and brass may stain.
- Woodware: Sensitive to heat and water; regular use may cause deterioration.
- Glassware: Most is dishwasher safe. Crystal, fine, and antique glassware may etch.
- Plastics: May change shape or color. Ensure dishwasher-safe plastic is weighed down.
- Decorated items: Modern patterns are usually safe. Antique items or those with over-glaze paint, gold rims, or hand-painted designs may be sensitive.
- Glued items: Adhesives may soften or dissolve.
Water hardness
Hard water (high mineral content) can reduce performance and cause cloudiness or white film on dishes. Water hardness varies geographically. Consider a water softener for hard water areas.
If your home has hard water:
- Refer to 'Powdered detergent quantity recommendations'.
- Use rinse aid and consider increasing the rinse aid setting.
- Use a dishwasher cleaner/descaler regularly.
If your home has soft or softened water:
- Avoid using too much detergent.
Loading suggestions
Ensure items are placed so water from the spray arms can reach all areas. Wash performance is reduced if not.
Your dishwasher can hold up to 11 place settings.
Ensure:
- Spray arms can rotate freely.
- Tall items do not obstruct the upper spray arm.
- Glass and fragile items are stable.
- Dish openings face downwards.
- Plates are evenly spaced.
- Sharp objects are secured to avoid injury or damage.
Avoid:
- Overcrowding.
- Protrusions that may prevent spray arm rotation.
- Protrusions at the front of the dishwasher.
- Blocking water from foldaway cup racks.
Loading Baskets:
- Place heavily soiled items in the bottom basket for better dishwashing results due to the more powerful spray jet.
- Upper baskets: Designed for glasses, cups, saucers, plates, small bowls, and shallow pans.
- Foldable cup racks: Adjust height or fold to make space. Use notches for wine glass stems.
- Adjusting the upper basket: Ensure the basket is empty before adjusting height.

Using special salt:
When the low salt indicator lights up, refill with special dishwasher salt immediately before switching on the appliance. This prevents salt solution from corroding the rinsing tank.
Top up the salt:
- Turn the cap clockwise to open the salt container.
- Fill with 1 litre of water into the salt container.
- Fill the tank with specific salt until it overflows.
- Remove any spilled salt.
- Turn the cap counter-clockwise to close the container.
CAUTION: Only use dishwasher salt. Other products can cause damage. Spilled salt causes corrosion. Run a program after each refill.

Unsuitable detergents:
- Hand washing liquids
- Laundry detergents
- Soaps
- Disinfectants
Using powdered detergent:
- Check that the detergent dispenser is empty and dry. Add powdered detergent or tablets.
- Remove excess detergent and close the cover. If needed, add more detergent to the pre-wash compartment.
