Operation
Before Use
Notes for Operation
Frost can form if the door is not closed completely or humidity is high. Ensure sufficient space between stored food for the door to close.
Opening the door for long periods increases compartment temperature.
If the appliance is left empty, switch off, defrost, clean, dry, and leave the door open to prevent mold.
A temperature rise after defrosting is permissible within specifications. Seal or wrap food in several layers to minimize impact.
Drawers, water tank*1, or ice bucket*1 can be removed to create more space.
Door Open Alarm*1
Sounds if the door is left open or not completely closed. Contact LG Electronics customer information center if the alarm continues after closing doors.
High Temperature Alarm*1
Warns when the freezer temperature is problematically high. The freezer temperature display LED flashes and an alarm sounds.
Alarm cases: first use, door open long/frequently, power outage, large amounts of hot food.
Turning off the Alarm: Press the Freezer button until the alarm stops.
Failure Detection
The appliance can automatically detect problems. If an error code is displayed, do not turn off the power. Contact LG Electronics customer information center immediately and report the error code.
Suggestion for Energy Saving
Keep inner parts (baskets, drawers, shelves) in their original locations for efficient energy use.
Ensure sufficient space between stored foods for even cold air circulation.
Store hot food only after it has cooled.
Set freezer temperature colder than the food's indicated temperature for freezing.
Do not set the temperature lower than needed.
Do not place food near the fridge compartment's temperature sensor (keep at least 3 cm distance).
Storing Foods Effectively
Store food at the correct temperature to prevent freezing or spoilage.
Store frozen or refrigerated food in sealed containers.
Check expiration dates and storage instructions.
Do not store easily spoiling food for long periods.
Do not place unfrozen food in direct contact with frozen food.
Store refrigerated/frozen food immediately after purchasing.
Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers to prevent dripping onto other food.
Refrigerated foods can be stored on top of the vegetable drawer.
Avoid refreezing completely thawed food; it lowers taste and nutrition.
Do not overfill the appliance; cold air needs to circulate.
Cool hot food before storing to prevent internal temperature rise affecting other foods.
Do not set excessively low temperatures, as food may freeze.
Do not store high-moisture vegetables/fruits in chill compartments as they may freeze.
In case of a blackout, avoid door openings. Check food condition when power returns.
Maximum Freezing Capacity
For maximum capacity, set the freezer to the coldest setting. The Express Freeze function takes up to 24 hours and switches off automatically.
Switch on Express Freeze 7 hours before placing fresh products.
For quick freezing, store food on the top shelf first, then subsequent shelves.
Insert all inner parts (baskets, drawers, shelves) for better air circulation.
Freezing the Maximum Amount of Food
If storing large quantities, remove freezer drawers and stack food directly on freezer shelves.
CAUTION: Empty drawers before removing; use both hands. Ensure fridge doors are fully open.
Two Star Compartment*1
Suitable for storing ice and food at -12 °C to -18 °C for short periods. Suitable for storing pre-frozen food, ice cream, and making ice cubes. Not suitable for freezing fresh food.

MAINTENANCE
Cleaning
General Cleaning Tips
Manual defrosting/maintenance while food is stored can raise food temperature. Regularly clean surfaces that contact food.
Do not use rough brushes, toothpaste, or flammable materials for cleaning. Flammable substances include alcohol, thinner, bleach, benzene, etc.
After cleaning, check the power cord for damage.
Cleaning the Exterior
When cleaning exterior air vents, unplug the power cord to avoid static discharge. Regular cleaning of rear and side ventilation covers is recommended for reliable operation.
Keep air vents clean; blocked vents can cause fire or damage.
For the exterior, use a clean sponge or soft cloth with mild detergent in warm water. Dry thoroughly. For stainless steel doors, use a dedicated cloth and wipe in the direction of the grain to reduce staining.
Cleaning the Interior
Remove all stored foods from shelves and drawers before cleaning to prevent injury or damage.
Detach shelves and drawers, clean with water and mild detergent, and dry sufficiently before replacing.
Wipe door gaskets and seals with water and mild detergent.
Clean door basket spills promptly.
Never clean shelves, door baskets, or containers in a dishwasher or hot water; parts may deform, and glass may shatter.
The automatic defrosting system eliminates the need for manual defrosting.
Cleaning the Condenser Cover
Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush to clean the condenser cover and vents. Do not remove the panel covering the condenser coil area. Cleaning every 12 months is recommended for efficiency.
Deodorizer
Reusing the Deodorizer
1. Pull out the upper fridge drawer.
2. Unscrew the screw on the deodorizer.
