AuroMax® is a revolutionary sound rendering technology that combines the best characteristics of object-based technology with the Auro 11.1 immersive sound format for the most realistic and natural immersive experience available. The APX AuroMax® spatial audio processor is the core component of the AuroMax® audio system. Fully futureproof, this processor will be software upgradeable to the single standardized format for immersive cinema sound, once this becomes available in the industry.
High-quality rendering of audio objects
The APX AuroMax® spatial audio processor provides superior rendering of audio objects by combining the unique ability of the Auro 11.1 format to create backward compatible immersive mixes with the revolutionary object-based rendering of Barco Audio Technologies (formerly IOSONO). Combined with the three-layer approach of the Auro 11.1 format, AuroMax® creates a truly lifelike representation of immersive audio.

This technology allows users to easily install immersive sound in both existing and new theaters without compromising on quality. Offering realistic immersive sound at up to half the cost of a typical object-based sound system, AuroMax® keeps the economics of your business healthy while enabling you to offer your guests the best cinema sound which can only be experienced at your local theater.
Maximum flexibility
AuroMax® takes the 3 distinct surround layers and 6 screen channels from the Auro 11.1 speaker layout and adds additional zones to the room, which makes it upgradable for existing Auro 11.1 systems. This approach maintains the same large sweet spot and guarantees the most natural representation of channel and objectbased immersive sound, regardless of room size.
