Assembly Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Components
Lay out all components on a clean, flat surface. The image shows the light units, mounting plate, cables, and various fasteners.
Step 2: Arrange Rack Components
Place the main bike rack components on a table or workbench, as shown in the diagram, preparing them for assembly.
Step 3: Initial Attachment
Connect the first component to the bike rack. The diagram shows a specific connection point and the use of a fastener. Arrows indicate the direction of attachment.
Step 4: Attach Light Units and Route Cables
Attach the light units to the rack using the T25 Torx key and screws. Route the cables along the rack structure. The diagram shows routing paths and indicates correct ([ok]) and incorrect ([not ok]) cable placement using checkmarks and crosses.
Step 5: Connect Cables to Light Units
Connect the cables to the light units. Use the 4mm Allen key for securing connections as indicated. The diagram shows connection points labeled A, B, C, and D, with arrows indicating the sequence and method of connection.
Step 6: Secure Cables
Use the provided cable clips to secure the routed cables to the rack frame. The diagram shows two methods of securing cables, labeled [ok] and [not ok], with checkmarks and crosses indicating the correct procedure.
Step 7: Attach Additional Components and Route Harness
Attach additional components using screws (x10). Route the main cable harness along the rack. A diagram indicates a required spacing of + 1.2 inches (+ 30 mm) for a specific cable run.
Step 8: Connect Light Cables to Main Harness
Connect the individual light unit cables to the main cable harness. Arrows in the diagram show the correct orientation and connection points.
Step 9: Secure Wiring
Secure the wiring harness using cable clips (x1, x2). A warning [warning] indicates a minimum clearance requirement of less than 0.4 inches (< 10 mm) for certain wiring runs.
Step 10: Attach Light Units to Plate
Connect the light units to the mounting plate. The diagram shows how the light units (labeled A and B) attach to the plate.
Step 11: Mount Plate to Rack
Attach the mounting plate, now fitted with the light units, to the bike rack using screws and the T25 Torx key. Arrows indicate the insertion points for the screws.
Step 12: Attach License Plate
Secure a license plate (example shown as A123) to the mounting plate using screws. Arrows indicate the screw locations.
Step 13: Connect to Vehicle
Attach the assembled light and plate kit to the vehicle's hitch receiver. Connect the electrical harness to the vehicle's trailer connector. The diagram shows the final connection to the vehicle's power source.
Step 14: Final Check
The diagram shows the fully installed Thule Epos Light & Plate Kit on the rear of a vehicle, with the license plate illuminated. A safety warning [warning] is present, indicating a final check is required.
