Installation Instructions
WARNING: ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD
Disconnect electrical power before installing the dishwasher. Failure to do so could result in death or electrical shock.
IMPORTANT! Installation of pipes and electrical equipment should be done by professionals.
POWER CONNECTION
WARNING: For your personal safety, do not use an extension cord or adapter plug with this appliance. Do not cut or remove the earthing connection from the power cord.
Electrical requirements: Connect the dishwasher to an appropriate power supply as indicated on the rating label. Use a 10A time delay fuse or circuit breaker, preferably on a separate circuit serving only this appliance.
Electrical connection: Ensure the voltage and frequency match the rating plate. Insert the plug into a properly earthed electrical socket. If the socket is not appropriate, replace it rather than using adapters.
WARNING: Ensure that proper earthing exists before use.
WATER SUPPLY AND DRAIN
Cold water connection: Connect the cold water supply hose to a 3/4 inch threaded connector and ensure it is fastened tightly.
If water pipes are new or have not been used for an extended period, run the water to clear it. This prevents the water inlet from being blocked.
NOTE: Please close the hydrant after use.
POSITIONING THE APPLIANCE
Position the appliance in the desired location, with the back against the wall and sides along adjacent cabinets or walls. Water supply and drain hoses can be positioned to the right or left.
Levelling the appliance
Adjust the feet to level the appliance. The appliance should not be inclined more than 2°.
Installation Instructions (Continued)
DRAIN HOSE CONNECTION
Insert the drain hose into a drain pipe with a minimum diameter of 4 cm, or let it run into the sink. Avoid bending or crimping the hose. The height of the drain pipe must be less than 1000mm. Ensure the free end of the hose is not immersed in water to prevent backflow.
Ensure the drain hose is securely fixed in position A or B.
How to drain excess water from hoses: If the sink is higher than the floor, excess water may need to be drained into a bowl or suitable container held lower than the sink.
Water outlet
Connect the water drain hose correctly to avoid leaks. Ensure the hose is not kinked or squashed.
Extension hose
If an extension hose is needed, use a similar hose. It should not exceed 4 meters, as this could reduce cleaning effectiveness.
Syphon connection
The waste connection must be less than 100 cm from the bottom of the dish. The water drain hose should be fixed.
Diagram showing drain hose connection to sink or drain pipe.
Preparing & Loading Dishes
Consider using utensils identified as dishwasher-proof. For specific items, select the lowest possible temperature program.
To prevent damage, do not remove glass and cutlery immediately after the program has ended.
CUTLERY/DISHES SUITABILITY
The following are not suitable:
- Cutlery with wooden, horn, china, or mother-of-pearl handles.
- Plastic items not heat resistant.
- Older cutlery with glued parts not temperature resistant.
- Bonded cutlery items or dishes.
- Pewter or copper items.
- Crystal glass.
- Steel items subject to rusting.
- Wooden platters.
- Items made from synthetic fibers.
The following are of limited suitability:
- Some glasses may become dull after frequent washing.
- Silver and aluminum parts may discolour.
- Glazed patterns may fade if machine washed frequently.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR LOADING THE DISHWASHER
- Scrape off large food residues. Soften burnt-on food in pans. Rinsing dishes under running water is not necessary.
- For best performance, follow these loading guidelines:
- Face items like cups, glasses, pots/pans downwards.
- Load curved items or items with recesses at an angle to allow water to run off.
- Ensure utensils are stacked securely and cannot tip over.
- Position utensils so that spray arms can rotate freely.
- Load hollow items (cups, glasses, pans) with the opening facing downwards to prevent water collection.
- Dishes and cutlery should not lie inside one another or cover each other.
- To avoid damage, glasses should not touch each other.
- The upper basket is designed for lighter dishware like glasses, coffee cups, and tea cups.
- Long-bladed knives should be stored upright or horizontally in the upper basket to prevent injury.
- Do not overload the dishwasher for good results and energy efficiency.
- Very small items should not be washed in the dishwasher as they could fall out of the basket.
Removing the dishes
To prevent water dripping from the upper basket onto dishes below, empty the lower basket first, then the upper basket.
WARNING: Items will be hot! Do not remove glass and cutlery for about 15 minutes after the program has ended.
Loading the upper basket
The upper basket is for delicate and lighter items such as glasses, coffee cups, tea cups, saucers, small bowls, and shallow pans. Position items so they do not move during the spray of water.
Loading the lower basket
Place large items and those most difficult to clean (pots, pans, lids, serving dishes, bowls) in the lower basket. Position serving dishes and lids on the side racks to avoid blocking the top spray arm.
The maximum diameter for plates in front of the detergent dispenser is 19 cm.
Loading the cutlery basket
Place cutlery in the cutlery rack separately. Ensure utensils do not nest together for optimal performance.
WARNING: Do not let any item extend through the bottom. Always load sharp utensils with the sharp end downwards.
NOTE: For the best washing effect, load baskets according to the recommendations.

Capacity: 12 place settings
Position of the upper basket: lower position
Program: ECO
Rinse aid setting: 6
Detergent (Pre/main): 5g/25g
Door is open at the end of the drying cycle for the drying performance test and lasts 40 mins (Door position: Open 50 mm).
Rinse Aid & Detergent
Rinse aid is released during the final rinse to prevent water droplets forming spots and streaks on dishes. It also improves drying by allowing water to roll off.
WARNING: Only use branded rinse aid. Never fill the rinse aid dispenser with other substances, as this could damage the appliance.
When to refill the rinse aid
The regularity of refilling depends on wash frequency and rinse aid setting.
- The Low Rinse Aid indicator (*) will appear when more rinse aid is needed.
- Do not overfill the rinse aid dispenser.
- Never let the rinse aid level drop below 1/4 full.
- The black dot on the rinse aid level indicator changes as the level decreases: Full, 3/4 full, 1/2 full, 1/4 full, Empty.
Function of detergent
Detergent is necessary to remove dirt. Most commercial quality detergents are suitable.
WARNING: Proper Use of Detergent
- Use only detergent specifically made for dishwashers. Keep detergent fresh and dry.
- Do not put powdered detergent into the dispenser until you are ready to wash dishes.
- Dishwasher detergent is corrosive! Keep it out of reach of children.
FILLING THE RINSE AID COMPARTMENT
- STEP 1: Remove the rinse aid reservoir cap by rotating it anti-clockwise.
- STEP 2: Pour rinse aid into the dispenser, being careful not to overfill.
- STEP 3: Close the rinse aid reservoir cap by rotating it clockwise.
Adjusting the rinse aid compartment
Turn the rinse aid indicator dial to a number between 1 and 6. A higher number uses more rinse aid.
If dishes are not drying properly or are spotted, adjust the dial to the next higher number. Reduce the setting if there are sticky white stains or a blue film on dishes, glassware, or cutlery.

Cleaning & Maintenance
EXTERNAL CARE
The door and the door seal
Clean the door seals regularly with a soft damp cloth to remove food deposits. Wipe off any deposits on the sides of the dishwasher door before closing it.
The control panel
Wipe the control panel with a soft damp cloth only.
WARNING: Do not use spray cleaners. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on outer surfaces, as they may scratch the finish. Some paper towels may also scratch or leave marks.
INTERNAL CARE
Filtering System
The filtering system in the base of the wash cabinet retains coarse debris. Clogged filters can affect performance. Check and clean filters regularly under running water. Refer to the following steps:
- STEP 1: Hold the coarse filter and rotate it anticlockwise to unlock. Lift the filter upwards and out.
- STEP 2: The fine filter can be pulled off the bottom of the filter assembly. The coarse filter can be detached from the main filter by squeezing the tabs at the top and pulling it away.
- STEP 3: Rinse larger food remnants under running water. For a more thorough clean, use a soft cleaning brush.
- STEP 4: Reassemble the filters in reverse order, replace the filter insert, and rotate clockwise to close.
WARNING: Do not over-tighten filters. Ensure filters are securely in place to prevent debris from entering the system. Never use the dishwasher without filters. Improper filter replacement may reduce performance and damage dishes.
NOTE: Diagrams and pictures are for reference; your filtering system and spray arms may appear differently.
Cleaning & Maintenance (Continued)
SPRAY ARMS
Clean spray arms regularly to prevent clogging of jets and bearings by hard water chemicals.
To clean the spray arms:
- STEP 1: To remove the upper spray arm, hold the nut in the center and rotate the spray arm counterclockwise.
- STEP 2: To remove the lower spray arm, pull it upward.
- STEP 3: Wash the arms in soapy, warm water using a soft brush to clean the jets. Rinse thoroughly and replace.
CARING FOR THE DISHWASHER
Frost precaution
Take frost protection measures in winter. After each wash cycle:
- Cut off electrical power at the supply source.
- Turn off the water supply and disconnect the water inlet pipe from the water valve.
- Drain water from the inlet pipe and water valve into a pan.
- Reconnect the water inlet pipe to the water valve.
- Remove the filter at the bottom of the tub and use a sponge to soak up water in the sump.
After every wash
Turn off the water supply to the appliance. Leave the door slightly open to prevent moisture and odors from being trapped inside.
Remove the plug
Before cleaning or maintenance, always remove the plug from the socket.
No solvents or abrasive cleaning
Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaning products on the exterior or rubber parts. Use a cloth with warm soapy water. For interior spots or stains, use a cloth dampened with water and a little vinegar, or a dishwasher-specific cleaning product.
After prolonged inactivity
Run a wash cycle with the dishwasher empty, then remove the plug, turn off the water supply, and leave the door slightly open. This helps preserve door seals and prevent odors.
Moving the appliance
If the appliance must be moved, keep it in a vertical position. If absolutely necessary, it can be positioned on its back.
Seals
Periodic cleaning of seals with a damp sponge can prevent odors caused by trapped food particles.
Troubleshooting

The dishes are not clean | Dishes not loaded correctly. Program not powerful enough. Not enough detergent dispensed. Items blocking spray arms. Filter combination not clean or fitted correctly. Spray arm jets blocked. | See "Preparing & Loading Dishes" section. Select a more intensive program. Use more detergent or change detergent. Rearrange items for spray arm rotation. Clean/fit the filter correctly. Clean the spray arm jets. |
Cloudiness on glassware | Combination of soft water and too much detergent. | Use less detergent if you have soft water and select a shorter cycle for glassware. |
Black or grey marks on dishes | Aluminium utensils have rubbed against dishes. | Use a mild abrasive cleaner to eliminate marks. |
Troubleshooting (Continued)
FURTHER PROBLEM SOLVING CONTINUED
Issue | Possible cause | What to do |
---|---|---|
Detergent left in dispenser | Dishes block detergent dispenser. | Reload dishes properly. |
The dishes aren't drying | Improper loading. | Load dishwasher as suggested in directions. |
Too little rinse-aid. | Increase rinse-aid amount or refill dispenser. | |
Dishes removed too soon. | Do not empty dishwasher immediately after washing. Open door slightly to allow steam to escape. Wait until dishes are safe to touch. Unload lower basket first to prevent dripping water from the upper basket. | |
Wrong program selected. Use of cutlery with low-quality coating. | With a short program, washing temperature is lower, decreasing cleaning performance. Choose a program with a longer washing time. Water drainage is difficult with these items. Cutlery or dishes of this type are not suitable for washing in the dishwasher. |

WARRANTY
Products are covered by a 24-month warranty from the date of purchase, subject to the following conditions:
- The purchaser carefully follows all instructions provided with the product.
- The purchaser and/or installer carefully follows installation instructions and complies with electrical, gas, and plumbing regulations.
- The purchaser follows instructions in the owner's handbook for proper use and care, and does not use the product for purposes other than its intended domestic use.
- Commercial use voids the warranty.
- The product was purchased and installed in New Zealand.
- This warranty does not extend to:
- optional glass lids for hobs (except for mechanical or physical damage at purchase)
- 'consumable' parts like light bulbs or filters
- damage to ceramic glass caused by liquid or solid spill-overs, lack of maintenance, or impact
- damage to surface coatings caused by cleaning or maintenance using non-recommended products
- defects caused by normal wear and tear, accident, negligence, alteration, misuse, or incorrect installations
- products dismantled, repaired, or serviced by unauthorized personnel
- products not in possession of the original purchaser
- damage caused by power outages or surges
- damage caused by pests (e.g., rats, cockroaches).
- If the product is a freestanding microwave oven or small appliance, it must be returned to the dealer/retailer for servicing. These products generally have a 12-month warranty, with 24 months on microwave magnetrons. Waste disposers have a 12-month warranty.
- Service provision is limited by a 25km boundary from the retailer, except for microwaves. Travel beyond this limit incurs commercial costs. Microwaves must be delivered to the nearest authorized service agent by the customer.
- Refer to your user manual for further conditions specific to your model.
Nothing herein excludes or limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Acts 1993.
For Service, visit www.applico.co.nz/service or contact the dealer/retailer. If you cannot establish the date of purchase, the fault is not covered, or the product is found to be in working order, you will be responsible for all service call charges.
