The 2100 Series Exit Device offers sturdy construction, innovative security features, and certified ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 performance, making it suitable for various applications requiring both performance and style. Yale is transitioning the Yale Commercial brand to ACCENTRA; products may be shipped under either brand until May 20, 2024, after which they will be branded ACCENTRA.

The 2100 Series is designed to meet facilities' requirements with the quality expected from a hardware leader. Yale Works for YouSM.

How to Order

The ordering system uses a code structure to specify the device and its options. Key components include:

  • Third Digit: Indicates device type (e.g., '0' for Rim Device, '5' for SquareBolt®).
  • Fourth Digit: Indicates latch type (e.g., '0' for Standard, 'F' for Fire Exit).
  • Suffix: 'F' for Fire Exit device, 'WS' for Windstorm Certified.
  • Size (DOW): Door Opening Width (e.g., '36' for 30"-36", '42' for 36"-42", '48' for 42"-48").
  • Outside Trim: Trim Model Number (refer to pages 13-21).
  • Finish: ANSI/BHMA finish codes (e.g., 613E, 630).
  • Other Info: Includes Door Hand (RHR/LHR), Sex Nuts (SN-134, SN-104), and Door Thickness options.

Rod Extensions and Shim Kits are available as separate options.

2100(F) Rim Exit Device

A rim exit device for single or pairs of doors constructed of metal, wood, or composite materials. Can be paired with various trims.

Certification/Compliance: UL/cUL Listed (FVSR/FVSR7, GXHX/GXHX7), ZHEM, ZHLA.

Features: Designed for wide stile doors; Non-handed; Steel interlock "E" bracket; Deadlocking pullman latchbolt; Hurricane resistant option available (Specify 2100(F)WS).

Applications: Single swing doors; Pairs of doors (mullion required); Metal, wood, or composite door materials.

2150(F) SquareBolt® Exit Device

Offers innovative protection with its SquareBolt® security deadbolt, providing an improved physical barrier and enhanced resistance to unauthorized entry.

2110(F) Surface Vertical Rod Exit Device

A surface vertical rod device for pairs of doors (up to 8' fire, 10' panic) requiring two-point latching.

Certification/Compliance: UL/cUL Listed (FVSR/FVSR7, GXHX/GXHX7).

Features: Wide stile doors; Handed (field reversible); Positive action linkage; Simultaneous direct pull bottom deadbolt; Bolts retract until door is shut.

2170(F) Surface Vertical Rod Exit Device

A surface vertical rod device for wide stile and flush doors (up to 10') requiring one or two-point latching. Less Bottom Rod (LBR) option available.

2100ED Series Wide Stile Trims:

Electrified Options

Standalone Door Alarm (SDA16)

A battery-operated door alarm monitoring door status. Features a Piezo horn (105+ dB) for alerts. Ideal for emergency, stairwell, or rear exit doors. Can be hardwired. Typically mounted on the door frame or door, paired with a magnet on the door gap.

Remote Mounting: Contacts can be installed up to 6 feet from the door (specify "SDA16XL").

Cylinders and Accessories:

  • 784 Power Supply (9VDC) with wall transformer.
  • Plug-in wall transformer with 12' cable assembly.
  • Gel-cell battery (optional).
  • WH-11 Wire harness for remote power and unlock.
  • Mortise cylinder for unit.
  • Rim cylinder for outside control.

Features of SDA16: Dimensions: 8.3"L x 3.1"W x 2.0"D; Non-handed; Powered by 9V battery or hardwired; Reverse battery protection; Low-voltage battery indicator; Piezo horn; LED indicator; Field-adjustable dip switches; Tamper switch; Conformally coated electronics; Cam lock cover; Accepts external and standard mortise cylinders.

Cylinders

Detailed charts provide compatibility for Rim, Component (for 440F/540F trims), and Mortise cylinders with various Yale exit devices and applications. Information includes model numbers, descriptions, pin counts, lengths, and required collars/cams.

Key Cylinder Types: Standard Fixed Core, Security Fixed Core, High Security Fixed Core, LFIC (Large Format Interchangeable Core), SFIC (Small Format Interchangeable Core), Yale KeyMark®, Best® Keyway, Schlage® "C" Keyway, Corbin Russwin, Sargent.

121NL Cylinder Only: For 2100(F) and 2150(F) devices. Requires specifying rim cylinder when ordering.

Collars & Tailpieces

Cylinder Collars: Various types including Recessed (1765, 599) and Flush Mount (KP4) are available. Specify collar size based on door thickness and cylinder type.

Long Tailpiece Kit: For escutcheon series trims up to 4-1/2" thick doors. Specific part numbers provided based on door thickness and trim type.

Von Duprin® Tailpiece: Available for Yale 1109 rim cylinder to operate night latch function on Von Duprin exit devices.

Strikes

Various strike options are available for different applications:

Rim Devices:

  • 757F: Standard strike for 2100(F) and 2150(F) devices.
  • 757FWS: Standard strike for 2150(F)WS and 2250M(F)WS devices, includes interlocking bracket for windstorm applications.
  • 793: Optional strike for double door applications without a mullion (panic only).

Vertical Rod Devices - Top Strikes:

  • 791: Standard top strike for 2110(F), 2120(F) series.
  • 726: Standard top strike for 2170(F) series.
  • 761: Standard top strike for 2160(F) series.
  • 797: Optional bracket for mounting 791 top strike in flush transom openings.

Vertical Rod Devices - Bottom Strikes:

Device Dimensions: Tables provide "A" and "B" dimensions in inches (mm) for 36", 42", and 48" device sizes.

Sample Specification

Exit devices should be 2100 Series Pushpad Exit Devices by Yale Locks & Hardware. Chassis and push pad assembly made of high-grade non-ferrous steel with electroplated finish and baked powder coating. Maximum projection 2-1/2" active, 1-3/4" dogged. Nylon bearings and stainless steel springs. Torsion springs only. Steel rear and active case covers with baked powder coating. Plastic covers unacceptable. Latchbolts are steel with deadlocking latch. Devices must be closed on all sides with no pinch points and easily field sized. Panic-listed devices require single point, one quarter turn hex key dogging standard. Trims must be through-bolted with concealed fasteners. Escutcheon and pull-type trims constructed of brass, bronze, or zinc. Lever trims use cast or forged levers. Cylinder mechanisms housed in trim, not active case. Lever trims must be Free Wheeling with clutch mechanism. Devices and trims furnished in ANSI/BHMA standard architectural finishes. Devices must be UL/cUL listed for panic hardware, "A" label fire-rated doors, ZHEM latching hardware, and ZHLA windstorm rated assemblies.

Certification: ANSI/BHMA A156.3, Grade 1.

Warranty: Devices carry a three-year warranty; escutcheon trims carry a five-year warranty.
