LINE 2 The telephone comes ready for desktop use. Install the telephone base as shown below. Connect the telephone base to the telephone wall jack using the telephone line cord. A coiled handset cord connects the handset to the base. If you have High Speed Internet Access service, a DSL filter (not included) is required. TO MOUNT THE TELEPHONE BASE ON THE WALL TO MOUNT THE TELEPHONE BASE ON THE WALL Default settings are indicated by asterisks (*). There are 3 ringer tone options. For 2-line model A1220, changing the ringer tone of either LINE 1 or LINE 2 applies to both phone lines. For A1210-A and A1220, there are 3 flash duration options that can be programmed. There are 3 options to set the voicemail voltage detection on the telephone base. TO SET THE VOICEMAIL VOLTAGE DETECTION BY THE PERIODIC LOW VOLTAGE PULSE DETECTION METHOD TO SET THE VOICEMAIL VOLTAGE DETECTION BY THE STEADY HIGH VOLTAGE AND PERIODIC HIGH VOLTAGE PULSE DETECTION METHOD For models A1210-A and A1220, there are up to 10 programmable guest-service (Speed Dial) keys. Program these keys to automatically dial telephone numbers or to activate telephone system features. For CL-A1110, there are 11 programmable guest-service (Speed Dial) keys. Program these keys to automatically dial telephone numbers or to activate telephone system features. When you program a Speed Dial key which is already prorgammed, the new number will override the old one. The telephone rings when there is an incoming call. Lift the corded handset from the telephone base to answer. Lift the corded handset and it automatically connects to the operator. Refer to your PABX user's manual for automatic dialling. Place the corded handset in the telephone base. Listening volume and ringer volume can be adjusted from the telephone base. During a call, press +/- VOLUME to adjust the listening volume. The next call returns to the default listening volume. At any time, slide the RINGER VOL switch on the right side of the telephone base to adjust the ringer volume. You can connect your modem or fax machine to the telephone line through the DATA port. The corded handset and the telephone base speakerphone cannot be used at the same time. However, calls can be switched between the corded handset and the telephone base speakerphone. The telephone rings and the MESSAGE WAITING LED flashes when there is an incoming call. Lift the corded handset from the telephone base. On the telephone base, press 🔊/SPEAKER. The 🔊/SPEAKER key illuminates when in speakerphone mode. Lift the corded handset or press 🔊/SPEAKER on the telephone base. Listen for a dial tone, and then dial the desired number, or press a Speed Dial key to dial a programmed number. The 🔊/SPEAKER key illuminates when in speakerphone mode. Place the corded handset in the telephone base, or press 🔊/SPEAKER when in speakerphone mode. During a call, parallel telephones (telephones on the same line) can join the call. During a call, lift the corded handset, or press 🔊/SPEAKER to join. Listening volume and ringer volume can be adjusted from the telephone base. During a call, press +/- VOLUME to adjust the listening volume. The next call returns to the default listening volume. At any time, slide the RINGER VOL switch on the right side of the telephone base to adjust the ringer volume. When a call is placed on hold, any parallel phone that tries to use the same phone line will take the call off hold and pick the call. You can connect your modem or fax machine to the telephone line through the DATA port. The telephone rings and the MESSAGE WAITING LED flashes when there is an incoming call. Lift the corded handset from the telephone base. Lift the corded handset. Listen for a dial tone and then dial the desired number, or press a Speed Dial key to dial a programmed number. Place the corded handset in the telephone base. During a call, parallel telephones (telephones on the same line) can join the call. During a call, lift the corded handset to join. Listening volume and ringer volume can be adjusted from the telephone base. During a call, press +/- VOLUME to adjust the listening volume. The next call returns to the default listening volume. At any time, slide the RINGER VOL switch on the right side of the telephone base to adjust the ringer volume. You can connect your modem or fax machine to the telephone line through the DATA port. The corded handset and the telephone base speakerphone cannot be used at the same time. However, calls can be switched between the corded handset and the telephone base speakerphone. The telephone rings when there is an incoming call. The MESSAGE WAITING LED and the respective line key flash. Lift the cordless handset and it connects to the ringing line. The respective line key illuminates when in use. Press the flashing line key, or press 🔊/SPEAKER to pick up the ringing line. The respective line key and the 🔊/SPEAKER key illuminate when in use. Lift the corded handset, or press LINE 1, LINE2, or 🔊/SPEAKER on the telephone base. Listen for a dial tone and then dial the desired number, or press a Speed Dial key to dial a programmed number. The respective line key illuminates when in use. The 🔊/SPEAKER key illuminates when in speakerphone mode. Place the corded handset in the telephone base, or press 🔊/SPEAKER or the active line key when in speakerphone mode. During a call, parallel telephones (telephones on the same line) can join the call. During a call on line 1 or line 2, press the respective line key to join. Listening volume and ringer volume can be adjusted from the telephone base. During a call, press +/- VOLUME to adjust the listening volume. The next call returns to the default listening volume. At any time, slide the RINGER VOL switch on the right side of the telephone base to adjust the ringer volume. When a call is placed on hold, any parallel phone that tries to use the same phone line will take the call off hold and pick the call. This telephone allows three-way conversations. Press CONF to start a three-way conference. You can connect your modem or fax machine to the telephone line through the DATA port. The data port routes to line 2. If VTech's authorized service representative repairs the Product, new or refurbished replacement parts may be used. If the Product is replaced, it may be replaced with a new or refurbished Product of the same or similar design. Repair or replacement of Product, at VTech's option, is the exclusive remedy. The limited warranty period for the Product begins on the date that the end user takes possession of the Product. This limited warranty also applies to repaired or replacement Products for a period of either: (a) 90 days from the date the repaired or replacement Product is shipped to you; or (b) the time remaining on the original limited warranty as described above; whichever is longer. This limited warranty does not cover: Except as provided by applicable law, you assume the risk of loss or damage during transit and transportation and are responsible for delivery or handling charges incurred in the transport of Product(s) to the service location. VTech's authorized service representative will return repaired or replaced product under this limited warranty to you, transportation, delivery and handling charges prepaid. VTech assumes no risk for damage or loss of the Product in transit. If the Product failure is not covered by this limited warranty, or proof of purchase does not meet the terms of this limited warranty, VTech will notify you and will request that you authorize the cost of repair and return shipping costs for the repair of Products that not covered by this limited warranty. You must pay for the cost of repair and return shipping costs for the repair of Products that are not covered by this limited warranty. A compliant telephone cord and modular plug is provided with this product. It is designed to be connected to a compatible modular jack that is also compliant. An RJ11 jack should normally be used for connecting to a single line and an RJ14 jack for two lines. See the installation instructions in the user's manual. The Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) is used to determine how many devices you may connect to your telephone line and still have them ring when you are called. The REN for this product is encoded as the 6th and 7th characters following the US: in the product identifier (e.g., if ## is 03, the REN is 0.3). In most, but not all areas, the sum of all RENs should be five (5.0) or less. For more information, please contact your telephone service provider. This equipment may not be used with Party Lines. If you have specially wired alarm dialing equipment connected to your telephone line, ensure the connection of this equipment does not disable your alarm equipment. If you have questions about what will disable alarm equipment, consult your telephone service provider or a qualified installer. If this equipment is malfunctioning, it must be unplugged from the modular jack until the problem has been corrected. Repairs to this telephone equipment can only be made by the manufacturer or its authorized agents. For repair procedures, follow the instructions outlined under VTech Hospitality limited warranty program in the user's manual. If this equipment is causing harm to the telephone network, your telephone service provider may temporarily discontinue your telephone service. Your telephone service provider is required to notify you before interrupting service. If advance notice is not practical, you will be notified as soon as possible. You will be given the opportunity to correct the problem and your telephone service provider is required to inform you of your right to file a complaint with the FCC. If you do store or test emergency numbers, please: When the adjunct is used with a leased system, permission of the owner of the equipment must be obtained for connection of the adjunct because modification of the host system is often required. This product can only be connected to the host equipment and never directly to the network. Your telephone contains sophisticated electronic parts, so it must be treated with care. Place the handset down gently. Save the original packing materials to protect your telephone if you ever need to ship it. Your telephone can be damaged if it gets wet. Do not use the handset outdoors in the rain, or handle it with wet hands. Do not install the telephone base near a sink, bathtub or shower. Electrical storms can sometimes cause power surges harmful to electronic equipment. For your own safety, take caution when using electrical appliances during storms. Your telephone has a durable plastic casing that should retain its luster for many years. Clean it only with a soft cloth slightly dampened with water or mild soap. QUESTION SUGGESTION The telephone does not work at all. There is no dial tone. I cannot dial out. The telephone does not ring when there is an incoming call.
