PAC GM1A-RX Radio Replacement Interface Guide

Introduction to the GM1A-RX

The PAC GM1A-RX is a radio replacement interface designed for select General Motors vehicles equipped with the Class II Data-Bus system. This interface facilitates the installation of an aftermarket radio while retaining essential factory features.

Key functionalities include:

  • Retaining factory warning chimes and Bose amplifiers.
  • Providing data bus driven outputs such as Retained Accessory Power (RAP), Vehicle Speed Signal (VSS), illumination, reverse trigger, and parking brake.
  • Enabling the integration of aftermarket Steering Wheel Control (SWC) interfaces like the PAC SWI-RC or SWI-CP2.
  • Supporting the retention of Rear Seat Controls (RSC) when used with an SWI interface.

VS41 Camera Integration

The GM1A-RX also supports the PAC VS41 Intelligent 4 Camera Switcher, allowing for the addition of multiple camera inputs (front, rear, blind spot) to an aftermarket radio. The VS41 offers data-bus controlled automatic activation for the front camera, enhancing vehicle visibility and safety.

Compatibility and Adjustments

The GM1A-RX is compatible with various General Motors audio systems, including Premium Bose (Y91/UQ7), standard Bose (UQA), and non-amplified systems. Users can fine-tune settings such as chime volume and factory amplifier parameters (bass, treble, gain, fade) using the RadioPRO PC application, offering a customized audio experience.
