Instructions for the Use of Tesla Coil
Product Introduction
This is a multi-functional small Tesla coil. The Tesla coil can produce a high-frequency and high-voltage electric field, and through the discharge end, generate an arc. This high-frequency and high-voltage electric field can excite gas-containing lamps, causing them to light up, effectively lighting a lamp remotely. Simultaneously, this Tesla coil incorporates audio modulation into its circuit, allowing the arc to emit music sound when a music signal is input, functioning as a plasma loudspeaker. The top of this coil is designed with different discharge terminals that can be replaced, enabling the effect of an ion wreath or ion windmill.
Usage Method
- Open the package and check the products and accessories, which include the Tesla coil, switching power supply, 3.5mm audio line, discharge needle, ion windmill accessories, ion wreath accessories, neon lamp, and two instruction manuals.
- Test the music playing function: Install the discharge needle on the Tesla coil, plug in the power supply, connect the Tesla coil, and open the power switch. The Tesla coil will start to work. Connect one end of the audio line to the Tesla coil and the other end to a music output device (e.g., mobile MP3 player, computer). Play music on the device, and the music will be emitted from the arc.
- Test the spacer lighting: Hold the metal foot of the neon lamp in your hand and slowly approach the Tesla coil. When the neon lamp reaches a certain distance, it will glow. If you have other gas-containing lamps (such as fluorescent incandescent lamps or some rare gas lamps), you can perform a similar open-air lighting experiment. When the top of the Tesla coil is not fitted with any accessories, it will not generate an arc, but it can improve the distance and effect of lighting. However, this operation is not recommended for extended periods.
- Test the ion windmill: Turn off the power switch and stop the Tesla coil. Remove the top discharge needle and attach the ion windmill accessories. Then, turn on the power switch, and the Tesla coil will operate. The arc will eject from both ends of the ion windmill accessories, driving the windmill to rotate.
- Test the ion wreath: Turn off the power switch and stop the Tesla coil. Remove the ion windmill accessories and install the ion wreath accessories. Then, turn on the power switch, and the Tesla coil will operate. The arc will spray from the top of the ion wreath. Due to the instability of the thin wire of the ion wreath, it will begin to shake and scratch. If the delayed shooting function is activated when the ion wreath starts to eject arc (with a delay set to approximately 3 seconds), a striking visual effect can be captured.
Principle Introduction
Principle of Plasma Loudspeaker
An audio signal modulates the working voltage of the Tesla coil through the circuit. When a music signal is input, the Tesla coil's working voltage changes rhythmically with the music, affecting the intensity of air heated by the arc. This results in air vibration synchronized with the music signal, producing sound waves.
Principle of Insulating Lighting
The Tesla coil generates a high-voltage, high-frequency pulsed electric field. When a gas lamp enters this electric field, the gas within the lamp breaks down due to the high-voltage electric field and conducts a weak current, causing it to emit light. The distance and effectiveness of the lighting depend on the intensity of the electric field and the density of the gases in the lamps.
Ion Windmill and Ion Wreath Principle
Arc heating of the air creates airflow, generating thrust that makes the windmill rotate and the wreath shake.
