ASRock Quick Installation Guide
Power Supply Series
Important Safety Information
WARNING: This unit contains no user-serviceable parts. Opening the casing poses a risk of electrocution. Use only indoors. ASRock is not liable for any consequences resulting from improper use, including use outside of intended purposes or non-compliance with warranty terms. Only use the included cables specifically labeled for your PSU. Using incorrect cables may lead to catastrophic failure.
Installation Procedures
- Remove the power supply from its packaging.
- Use the screws provided with your case to install the power supply into your computer.
Note: It is recommended to install the power supply with the fan facing down. However, if your case places the power supply at the bottom and lacks ventilation holes, installing with the fan facing up may improve efficiency and reliability.
- Connect the 24-Pin ATX cable to the PSU and the motherboard.
- Connect the 4+4-Pin EPS12V cable to the motherboard. (Optional)
This is only needed for heavy overclocking or if your motherboard supports additional 8-Pin or 4-Pin CPU power connectors, in which case connect the second 4+4-Pin EPS12V cable.
- Connect the 12V-2X6 / PCIe cables to your graphics card(s).
Note: Ensure the 12V-2X6 cable is fully plugged into both the PSU and your graphics card. Avoid bending the 12V-2X6 cable within 35mm of the connector. Do not plug an 8-Pin PCIe cable into a 6-Pin connector without detaching the two extra pins first. For graphics cards requiring two or more PCIe connections, it is recommended to use one PCIe cable per connector.
- Connect SATA power cables to all data drives or optical drives (hard drives, solid state drives, optical drives).
- Connect the peripheral "PATA" 4-Pin connectors for fans, pumps, legacy components, and other devices/adapters.
- Connect the AC power cord to your power supply and to the wall outlet. Verify all connections are secure. Turn the power switch on the power supply to the ON position. (If iCOOL mode is enabled, the fan will not spin during low to medium loads).
