Frico Thermozone AD 200 A/E/W Air Curtains
The Thermozone AD 200 is a modern air curtain designed for installation above entry doors and other small openings up to 2.5 meters in height. It creates an effective air barrier to prevent cold draughts and ensure comfortable indoor environments, significantly reducing energy losses and leading to considerable savings. An adjustable air blower grille allows for precise air direction for optimal air curtain effect. Models with electric heating also contribute to room heating, while ambient models (AD200A without heat) are ideal for reducing energy losses in refrigerated or air-conditioned spaces.
The AD200 series can be integrated into false ceilings. For wider openings, multiple units can be mounted side-by-side and controlled by a single thermostat and control panel. Three different product lengths are available to suit various opening widths. The AD210C is a compact variant featuring a built-in thermostat and control panel, supplied with a cable and plug. A diagram illustrates the air velocity profile at various distances from the unit for AD 200 A/E and AD 200 W models, showing velocities ranging from 10.5 m/s at 0.0m to 3.0 m/s at 2.5m. *1) Conditions: Distance to the unit 5 metres. Directional factor: 2. Equivalent absorption area: 200 m². Protection class AD200A/W: IP21 Detailed diagrams show the physical dimensions for the Ambient/Electric and Water models. Key dimensions include lengths of 1020mm, 1530mm, and 1960mm, with depths and heights specified. Water models feature DN15 (1/2") internal thread connections. Mounting: Thermozone AD200 units can be permanently mounted on walls or ceilings using threaded drop rods and suspension kits, or integrated into false ceilings. Mounting is horizontal with the air outlet directed downwards. A minimum distance of 50mm from the outlet to flammable material is required. Mounting brackets are included, and their distance is adjustable. 2-meter units require three fixing points. For optimal performance, the air curtain should cover the full width of the opening and be positioned as close to it as possible. Multiple units can be installed adjacent to each other for wider openings. Connection AD 200E: The appliance must be isolated by a triple pole switch with a minimum 3mm breaking gap. Connections are made via knock-outs on the unit's top side. Maximum cable size for the supply terminal block is 16 mm², and for the control terminal block is 4 mm². For units with electrical heating, separate power and control supplies are typically recommended, though common supplies may be used for smaller units (current below 16 A). AD220E models have heating elements divided across two separate supplies. Connection AD 200W: The control cable connects via a knock-out on the top right side (when viewed from inside). Water heating coil connections (DN15, 1/2" internal thread) are located on the top left side. Minimum Mounting Distances: A table specifies minimum mounting distances 'A' for various models, ranging from 50mm to 100mm depending on the unit type. False Ceiling Mounting: Requires a false ceiling grille and adequate space for service/inspection hatches. Optional suspension kits (ADPK1, ADPF1) are available for mounting the air curtains. Threaded bars and M8 nuts are not included with these kits. Various control kits are available to manage airflow and heating based on different environmental conditions: Refer to the Controls and accessories chapter or contact Frico for more options. Performance data for water-heated models is presented in tables detailing output (kW) and water flow (l/s) under various conditions: These charts specify performance based on fan position (max/min), airflow (m³/h), and incoming air temperature (+15 °C or +20 °C). Graphical data is provided for water pressure drop: Pressure drop is calculated for an average water temperature of 70 °C (PVV 80/60), with a factor K provided for adjustments at other temperatures. Wiring diagrams are included for various control configurations: Ambient control options for AD 200 A, compact model for AD 210 C, and electric control options (Level 1, 2, 3) for AD 200 E, as well as water control options (Level 1, 2, 3) for AD 200 W.
