Assembly Instructions
Front Wheel Installation
The front wheel, rear wheels, fender, child tray, and parent tray need to be installed prior to use.
This wheel utilizes a front wheel Snap Button locking system. Follow all instructions to ensure your child's safety. Failure to do so could result in serious injury or death.
- Unlock the release lever. Figure 1a shows the release lever.
- Unfold stroller frame by pulling backward on the stroller handle. Lean the stroller backward so it rests on the handle and rear axle frame, with the front wheel forks pointing upward. Figure 1b illustrates this position.
- Slide the front wheel housings onto the front fork. Figure 2 shows this step.
- Ensure the front fork clicks into place with the front wheel housings. Check that the snap buttons pop out fully. Never use the jogger if the snap buttons are not clicked into place. Figure 3 illustrates the click mechanism.
- Removal: To remove the front wheel, press the tabs inside the front wheel housings to detach the front forks from the wheel. Figure 4 shows the removal tabs.
- Rear Wheel Installation: Lean the stroller forward onto the front wheel. Push each wheel's axle into the plastic corner fitting. Depress the metal lever on the inside of the corner fitting as you push the axle in. Release the lever when the wheel is fully inserted. Check that the wheel is locked by pulling on it. If not locked, lift the lever, push the wheel further, and release. Figure 5 shows attaching the rear wheel.
- Ensure wheels are firmly locked. Never use the stroller if wheels are not locked.
Child Tray Installation
Do not place hot liquids or more than 3 pounds in the child tray. Serious burns or unstable conditions could result.
- To attach the child tray: Push the angled tray onto the post at the end of the right armrest, pressing downward on the snap button until locked. Rotate the tray downward to latch onto the left armrest. Ensure the snap button comes through and securely latches the tray. Figures 6a and 6b illustrate attaching the child tray.
- To access the child seat: Press the left side tray release button inward and rotate the tray upward. Figure 7 shows this action.
- To remove the child tray: Press the release button, rotate the tray 180 degrees, and pull to release. Figure 7 also illustrates removal.
Seatback Positioning

- The upright position is for children at least 6 months old. Always readjust the safety harness, including shoulder belts, when repositioning the seatback.
Parent Tray Installation
Do not place hot liquids or more than 3 pounds in the parent tray. Serious burns or unstable conditions could result.
- To attach the parent tray: Align fittings on the tray ends with fittings on the outside of the handle. Hook the tray's hole. Pull outward on the opposite end while pushing down on the tray until locked onto the stroller handle. Be careful not to pinch fingers. Figure 9 illustrates parent tray attachment and removal.
Storage Basket
- Wrap the 2 straps on the basket rear around the rear axle and snap them closed. Ensure all snaps are secure before use. Figure 10 shows securing the storage basket.
Canopy Installation
- Insert the canopy into the stroller frame, ensuring both sides click in. Figure 11a shows canopy insertion.
- Check subsequent steps (Figures 11b-11d) for proper installation. Adjust as needed. Wrap the elastic around the stroller frame to band and catch. Attach hook and loop on both sides of the canopy. Figures 11b and 11c show canopy strap and button attachments.

- To open the canopy: pull forward on the front edge. To close: push backward on the front edge towards the handle. Figure 11d shows canopy operation.
Infant Car Seat Compatibility and Installation
Compatible with Baby Trend® Car Seats: EZ Lift, EZ Lift PLUS, EZ Lift PRO, and SECURE. Visit babytrend.com for a compatibility chart.
Avoid serious injury from falling or sliding out; always use the Infant Car Seat harness.
ATTENTION: CS01 EZ-Lift, CS02 EZ-Lift PLUS, and CS03 EZ-Lift PRO Infant Car Seats must attach to the stroller's front seat module. These models require child tray and seat back adjustment to the most reclined position. Refer to step 13 for seat position adjustments.
- Close the canopy as needed to accommodate the car seat. Figure 12a shows canopy adjustment.
- Align the car seat module with the inner frame connectors. Rest the car seat's lower rear against the angle point of the tray. Latch the module into the stroller frame, pressing firmly until it clicks. Always ensure the car seat is properly connected and locked by lifting on its handle before each use. Figure 12b illustrates car seat module alignment and connection.
- Removing the car seat: Set the handle to the carry position. Squeeze the release handle at the top-rear of the car seat and lift away from the stroller. Figures 12c and 12d show the removal process.
- Other Compatible Car Seats: Put the stroller seat in the full recline position (See Figure 8). Turn car seat support tabs on the stroller frame. These tabs are only for infant car seats. Ensure the front child tray is firmly attached. Figure 13a shows the support tabs.
- Position the infant car seat facing the rear of the stroller. Push the car seat into the front tray until it latches. The rear of the car seat rests on the support tabs. Put the stroller seat in the most upright position for additional support (See Figure 8). Figure 13b illustrates positioning the car seat.
- Always secure the single short clip over the infant car seat through the belt path. It is very important that the short clip is always tightly fastened. Figure 13c shows the short clip.
- To remove the Infant Car Seat: Remove the short clip. Squeeze the release handle at the foot-end of the seat and carefully lift upward. Figures 13d and 13e show this removal step.
- Applies to all models: Rotate the support tabs upward when not using the car seat. Figure 13f shows rotated support tabs.

To secure the fender to the frame, use the 4 provided screws. Skip if preassembled.
- Align the 4 holes under the fender with the 4 holes on the front frame assembly tubes. Figures 18a, 27a, 27b, and 27c show fender alignment and attachment.
- Place and press the front fender onto the front frame assembly.
- Insert the 4 screws through the underside of the front frame assembly into the fender's plastic tubes. Tighten screws until snug. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
Safety Features
Brakes
Always check with your pediatrician for a recommended starting age/weight for your baby in an all-terrain stroller.
Always set brakes when the stroller is not being pushed to prevent rolling away. NEVER leave the stroller unattended on a hill or incline, as it may slide down.
- To engage brakes: Apply light downward pressure to the brake lever on each rear wheel. Slight forward or rearward movement may be needed to align brake teeth with the wheel brake cluster. Figure 14 illustrates brake engagement.
- Check that the stroller does not move and both brakes are properly applied. To release, gently lift the brake lever.
Front Wheel Lock
FALL HAZARD: Before running, jogging, or walking fast, lock the front wheel from swiveling to prevent tip-overs.
- The front wheels have a swivel locking device. Push the button upward to engage locks and downward to disengage. Figure 15 shows the lock/unlock mechanism.
- Testing for Proper Wheel Installation: ALWAYS check the double nut locking system before each use to ensure the front wheel is securely fastened to the frame. Figure 16 shows testing wheel security by lifting and pulling.
- If the front wheel wobbles excessively during use, adjust the front wheel housing nut located under the fender. Use a standard crescent wrench to tighten. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN, as this can damage the wheel housing. Figure 17 indicates the nut location.
Securing the Child
Avoid serious injury from falling or sliding out. Always use the safety harness.
STRANGULATION HAZARD: Children can strangle in loose straps. Never leave a child in the seat when straps are loose or undone.
- The 5-point harness shoulder straps have 3 attachment positions. Select the position that places the shoulder strap level with, or below, the child's shoulder. Figure 19a shows strap position selection.
- Place the child in the stroller seat. Bring the safety harness around the child's waist and over the shoulders. Place the crotch strap between the child's legs. Insert the male end of each shoulder/waist belt into the buckle on the crotch strap. Tighten the harness to be snug around the child's waist and over the shoulders. Figure 19b illustrates proper harness adjustment.
- To Release the Child: Push the red button on the center clasp; the two harness buckles will pop free. Figure 20 shows the release button.
- Unhook shoulder straps only if adjusting harness positions. Figure 21 shows unhooking straps.
Jogging with Your Stroller
Never jog or run with your newborn in the car seat position. Use for strolling only.
STRANGULATION HAZARD: Children have strangled when straps wrapped around their neck. When not in use, hook the tether strap onto the stroller handle. Keep this strap out of children's reach.
When jogging with your child, use the following safety features:
- Lock the front swivel wheel in a straight position.
- Safety Wrist Strap: Always connect the safety strap to your wrist when jogging. This strap prevents the stroller from rolling away if you trip. The strap must remain connected to the rear lower frame cross member to prevent backward tipping. The strap includes a Velcro attachment for storage when not in use. Figures 23a and 23b illustrate the wrist strap and its storage.
Folding and Unfolding the Stroller
Folding the Stroller
Care must be taken when folding to prevent finger entrapment.
Do not allow children near the stroller while folding.
- Close the canopy and recline the seat as described previously.
- Fold the stroller by simultaneously pulling each trigger fold. When latches release, the handle will fall. Release fold buttons and press downward on the handle until the stroller is completely folded. Figures 24a and 24b show the folding process and the fold latch.
- Secure the folded stroller by locking the fold latch on the right side over the frame rivet. Figure 24b illustrates securing the folded stroller.
Unfolding the Stroller
Care must be taken when unfolding to prevent finger entrapment.
Do not allow children near the stroller while unfolding.
- Stand the stroller on the ground with all three wheels touching. Release the folding latch on the right side. Figure 25a shows releasing the latch.
- Lift the stroller handle with both hands until the frame is erected and locked in the open position. The stroller has spring-loaded latches on both sides. Test that both latches are fully engaged before placing your child in the stroller. Figure 25b illustrates unfolding and latch engagement.
Maintenance
Tire Pressure
Check tire pressure before use. Tires are shipped un-inflated and should be inflated regularly to the specified P.S.I. on each tire. Use only a hand pump. DO NOT use an air compressor. DO NOT inflate above the maximum recommended pressure.
Fender Maintenance
Refer to step 25 for replacement purposes.
- Examine the bottom of the front fender; it has four 1/4 inch diameter plastic tubes. Figure 27a shows the fender tubes.
- Align these tubes with the holes in the front frame assembly. Figures 27b and 27c show alignment and attachment.
- Press the front fender onto the assembly.
- Insert 4 screws through the underside of the front frame assembly into the fender's plastic tubes. Tighten screws until snug. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. Figure 27d shows screw insertion.
Wheel Adjustment
Strollers can deviate from a straight line due to factors like tire pressure, wheel installation, road conditions, and manufacturing tolerances. If your Baby Trend stroller pulls significantly left or right on flat terrain, follow instructions on page 24 to realign the front wheel.
Flat Tire
The jogging stroller uses bicycle tires. If you get a flat tire, you can use a standard bicycle tire repair kit or take it to a bicycle shop. Consider thorn-proof inner tubes for frequent flats. Purchase the correct size shown on the tire sidewall.
