Chapter 1: Get to Know About Your Adapter

This chapter introduces the capabilities of the adapter.

The TP-Link Bluetooth 5.0 Nano USB Adapter supports advanced Bluetooth 5.0, enabling wireless connectivity with devices like computers, printers, phones, headsets, speakers, keyboards, and controllers. It is highly portable and smaller than a flash drive, plugging into Windows 10/8.1/7 systems for wireless communication with Bluetooth-enabled devices.

Chapter 2: Connect to a Computer

This chapter explains how to connect the adapter to your computer.

1. Before use, disable all existing Bluetooth devices (built-in and third-party) from the Device Manager on Windows.

   [!] Note: To access Device Manager, right-click 'This PC' or 'My Computer', select 'Manage', go to 'Device Manager', and disable all existing Bluetooth devices.

2. Insert the adapter into a USB port on your computer.

Chapter 3: Install Bluetooth Driver

This chapter covers installing the adapter's driver, pairing Bluetooth devices, and uninstalling the driver. The adapter includes a Driver Setup Wizard for installation.

3.1. Install Bluetooth Adapter's Driver

(Steps use UB500 as an example)

1. Download the driver from https://www.tp-link.com/download-center.

   [?] Tip: For Windows 10/8.1, the driver installation may start automatically when connected to the internet. If not, download manually.

2. Extract the downloaded file and run Setup.exe to start the driver installation.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
4. Restart your computer after the process is finished.

[!] Notes:

• The TP-Link Bluetooth 5.0 USB Adapter will appear in Device Manager once the driver is installed correctly.
• If the driver installation fails, disable antivirus software and firewall, then try again.
• For Windows 7, if a Windows Security message appears, refer to https://www.tp-link.com/faq-2760.html.

3.2. Pair With Your Bluetooth Devices

For Windows 7:

1. Open the Start menu and access 'Devices and Printers'.
2. Select 'Add Device' to choose the device you want to pair.
3. Select the found device from the list and click 'Next'.

   [!] Note: Ensure your Bluetooth device is set to be discoverable.

4. Click 'Finish' when pairing is complete.

   [!] Note: You may be prompted to enter a pairing code. Ensure the identical code is entered on both devices.

For Windows 8.1:

1. Open the Start menu, type 'Bluetooth' to access Bluetooth settings.
2. Toggle Bluetooth on.
3. Select your Bluetooth device and follow the on-screen instructions to complete pairing.

For Windows 10:

1. Open the Start menu, type 'Bluetooth' to access Bluetooth settings.
2. Click 'Add Bluetooth or other device' to scan for Bluetooth devices.
3. Select your Bluetooth device from the list and follow the on-screen instructions to complete pairing.

   [!] Note: Ensure your Bluetooth device is set to be discoverable. If the Bluetooth icon does not appear, refer to Troubleshooting->T1. During pairing, you may be prompted to enter a pairing code. Ensure the identical code is entered on both devices.

3.3. Uninstall Bluetooth Adapter's Driver

Go to Start > All Programs > TP-Link and find the model to uninstall. Follow the on-screen instructions.

[!] Note: You can also remove the driver from Windows Device Manager: Go to Windows Device Manager, find the adapter, right-click it, select 'Uninstall', and follow the instructions.

Appendix: Troubleshooting

T1. What should I do if the Bluetooth icon doesn't appear?

• Make sure Bluetooth is turned on in Windows settings.
• If other Bluetooth devices are present, disable them in Device Manager, then insert the adapter and try again.

T2. Why the adapter is not working with my Bluetooth device?

• Ensure your device has Bluetooth functionality.
• Make sure the latest Bluetooth driver is installed. Check published driver versions at https://www.tp-link.com/download-center.
• For devices with non-standard Bluetooth protocols (e.g., Logitech Mouse), compatibility issues may occur.
