Achieve a perfect finish with the 3M top tier finishing systems.
3MTM TrizactTM Abrasives
3MTM TrizactTM Abrasives used in paint defect removal and refinement help reduce compounding and buffing time. They consist of precisely-shaped three-dimensional structures distributed uniformly over the substrate. As these structures wear, fresh, sharp mineral is constantly exposed to the workpiece, resulting in faster, more consistent performance cutting throughout the life of the discs.
3MTM Perfect-ItTM EX Finishing System
Use the 3MTM Perfect-ItTM EX system for optimal performance every time. Unique formulas quickly remove scratches and other surface defects. Additional wet time with these products allow technicians to use less material and easy clean up helps reduce process time.
3MTM Perfect-ItTM Quick Connect Pads complement the Perfect-ItTM EX system and help eliminate swirl marks on painted surfaces, even on difficult dark colored cars. The 3MTM Quick Connect Adaptor makes it easy to quickly switch between compound and polishing pads.
Tech Tips:
When removing dirt nibs or leveling excess clear coat, using a dry application abrasive, like the 3MTM Purple Finishing Film HookitTM Disc, will allow you to see your work. Wet sanding is a messier process and requires additional time wiping dry to see if the defect is removed from the panel. Depending on the size of the defect, 3M recommends using grade P2000 Purple Finishing Film for the majority of applications. The cutting power is still there, but the finish is finer, saving you valuable process time. For heavy texture and large dirt nibs, grade P1500 Purple Finishing Film is still a viable option.
Using 3MTM TrizactTM HookitTM Foam 3000 and 5000 Grade Discs will allow you to begin the polishing process with an abrasive. 3MTM TrizactTM HookitTM Foam Discs begin the polishing process before you even touch the polisher. Since this is the case, the user will be able to utilize a 3MTM Perfect-ItTM Quick Connect White Foam Compounding Pad to quickly remove any sand scratches left behind. Using a foam compounding pad instead of a wool compounding pad will decrease your process time and reduce the amount of swirls and dieback/comeback. This is very important for dark colored vehicles. A wool compounding pad is more aggressive than foam and tends to leave a deeper swirl marks that the technician will need to remove later in the process. Abrasive polishing with 3MTM TrizactTM HookitTM Foam 3000 and 5000 Grade Discs will eliminate the need for a wool compounding pad, making the job easier and faster!

Tech Tip
3MTM TrizactTM HookitTM Foam Discs are designed to be used damp. Using too much water will cause the abrasive to hydroplane, reducing cut rate. Using too little water will rapidly load the abrasive.

· Eliminate lint and achieve the finest finish by using a 3MTM Perfect-ItTM Foam Compounding Pad
