DOD FX70 Metal X Instruction Manual
This manual provides instructions for operating the DOD FX70 Metal X guitar effects pedal.
Understanding the Controls
The FX70 Metal X features controls for LEVEL, LOW, HIGH, and DISTORTION. These controls allow you to shape your guitar's tone and distortion characteristics.
Distortion Settings
High Distortion: Use this setting for soloing with ample sustain. Set the DISTORTION control to maximum and the HIGH control between 80% and 100%. Increasing the HIGH control helps your guitar's sound cut through other instruments more effectively.
Hendrix Rhythm: This setting aims to replicate the distortion tones used by Jimi Hendrix. A single-coil neck pickup is recommended for best results, though a middle pickup can also work well.
Example Settings:
- High Distortion: LEVEL: 50%, LOW: 60%, HIGH: 100%, DISTORTION: 20%
- Hendrix Rhythm: LEVEL: 50%, LOW: 60%, HIGH: 100%, DISTORTION: 20%
Power and Battery Information
Battery Replacement:
- If the FX70 fails to switch on/off or the LED indicator remains lit, the battery needs to be replaced. Replace the battery immediately.
- Remove the battery when the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent unnecessary battery drain and potential damage from leaking battery fluids.
AC Adapter Usage:
- When an AC adapter is connected, normal operation continues even if the power cord is accidentally disconnected or power fails, provided a battery is also in the unit.
- Using any AC adapter other than the DOD PS3 or DOD PS50 will void the product's warranty.
