Important Safety Instructions - Read Before Installing the Product
Personal Safety
- The UPS has its own internal power source (battery). Therefore, the power socket may still have voltage even when the UPS is disconnected from the AC power source.
- Voltages inside the UPS are considered dangerous. The unit should only be opened by qualified service personnel.
- The UPS must be properly grounded. Measurements are required to ensure that the total leakage current of the UPS and the protected equipment does not exceed 3.5 mA by checking its characteristics.
- Batteries shipped with the UPS contain small amounts of toxic substances. To avoid accidents, the instructions below must be followed: Never incinerate batteries (risk of explosion). Never attempt to open batteries (electrolyte is harmful to eyes and skin).
- Comply with all applicable battery disposal regulations.
- Batteries can pose a hazard (electric shock, burns). Short-circuit current may be very high. Apply the following precautions when handling batteries: a) Remove the charging source before connecting or disconnecting battery terminals; b) Do not wear metal objects, including watches and rings; c) Do not place equipment or metal components on top of the battery; d) Use tools with insulated handles; e) Wear rubber gloves and boots; f) Check if the battery ground is intentionally or unintentionally made. Contact with grounded battery parts can cause electric shock and burns due to high short-circuit current. The risk of this hazard can be reduced if the ground is removed during installation and handled by an expert.
Product Safety
- The UPS connection and operating instructions described in the manual must be followed in the given order.
- The UPS must be connected to a nearby, easily accessible wall socket. The AC power connection on the UPS can be disconnected by unplugging the power cord.
- Ensure the accuracy of the rating plate indications with your AC power system and the actual power consumption of all equipment to be connected to the UPS.
- Do not place the UPS near liquids or in excessively humid environments.
- Do not allow foreign objects to enter the UPS.
- Do not cover the UPS ventilation grilles.
- Do not expose the UPS to direct sunlight or heat sources.
- If the UPS needs to be stored before installation, it must be stored in a dry place. The permissible storage temperature range is -25 °C to +55 °C.
Special Precautions
- After installation and connection to the AC power source for the first time, the battery will begin to charge. To obtain the specified battery backup time, the battery power needs to be charged for at least 8 hours.
- If the UPS has not been powered for a long time, either before or after installation, charge the UPS for 24 hours at least once every 6 months (for normal storage temperatures below 25 °C). This will prevent possible permanent damage to the battery.
- During battery module replacement, you must use the same type and number of cells as were previously installed in the UPS to maintain performance stability and safety. If in doubt, please contact our after-sales department (for more information, visit the website http://www.eaton.com).
Quick Start Guide
Charging for 4-6 hours to reach 90% after power is depleted.
Troubleshooting
Symptom | Possible Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
Front panel LED is not lit | 1. Battery is weak 2. Battery is damaged or worn out 3. Power switch is not pressed | 1. Charge the battery for up to 8 hours 2. Replace with the same type of battery 3. Press the power switch again |
Alarm buzzer keeps beeping even though AC supply is normal | 1. Overload on UPS 2. Battery is weak 3. Battery is damaged or worn out | Ensure that the load matches the UPS capacity stated in the specifications. 1. Reduce non-critical loads 2. Charge the battery for up to 8 hours 3. Replace with the same type of battery |
When power fails, backup time is reduced | Loose power cable connection | Reconnect the power cable correctly |
AC supply is normal, but LED is flashing | Loose power cable connection | Reconnect the power cable correctly |
