Yamaha HPH-MT8, HPH-MT5, HPH-MT5W Studio Monitor Headphones
Introduction
This document is the owner's manual for the Yamaha HPH-MT8, HPH-MT5, and HPH-MT5W Studio Monitor Headphones. It provides essential information for safe and proper use of the product.
Safety Precautions
DANGER: Always observe basic precautions to prevent serious injury or death from electrical shock, short-circuiting, damage, fire, or other hazards. These include, but are not limited to:
- Do not use while driving or cycling. Avoid use where hearing must not be impaired (e.g., railroad crossings, construction sites) as reduced awareness of surrounding sound increases accident risk.
- Do not open the device as it contains no user-serviceable parts. Discontinue use and seek qualified Yamaha service personnel if malfunctioning.
- Do not expose to rain, use near water, or in damp conditions. If liquid seeps in, have it inspected by qualified Yamaha service personnel.
- Do not use headphones for extended periods at high or uncomfortable volumes, as this can cause permanent hearing loss. If you experience hearing loss or ringing in the ears, consult a physician.
- Before connecting to or powering devices on/off, set all volume levels to minimum to prevent hearing loss or equipment damage.
- Do not place burning items or open flames near the device to prevent fire.
WARNING: Always follow basic precautions to avoid serious injury or death from electrical shock, short-circuiting, damage, fire, or other hazards. These include, but are not limited to:
- Do not use in locations with corrosive gases or salt air, as this may result in malfunction.
- Do not rest weight on the device or place heavy objects on it. Avoid applying excessive force to connectors.
- Avoid pulling connected cables to prevent injury or damage.
- When removing plugs, pull by the plug itself, not the cable. Bending or pulling the cable forcefully may damage it.
- Before moving the device, remove all connected cables.
- If the headphones irritate your skin, stop use immediately. Consult a physician if any skin abnormality appears.
CAUTION: Always follow basic precautions to avoid physical injury to yourself or others, or damage to the device or other property. These include, but are not limited to:
- Keep the product out of reach of children to prevent swallowing small parts. If swallowed, consult a physician immediately.
- Do not use malfunctioning headphones.
- Do not expose the device to excessive dust, vibration, extreme cold or heat (e.g., direct sunlight, near heaters, in a car during the day) to prevent disfiguration, unstable operation, or damage to internal components.
- Do not place vinyl, plastic, or rubber objects on the device, as this might cause discoloration.
- When cleaning, use a dry, soft cloth. Do not use paint thinners, solvents, cleaning fluids, or chemical-impregnated cloths.
- For information on replaceable parts like earpads, consult your Yamaha dealer.
Yamaha cannot be held responsible for damage caused by improper use or modifications.
