Blaupunkt Built-in Oven Installation Guide
General Information
This appliance is intended for use up to a maximum height of 2000 metres above sea level.
Important Safety Note: Proper installation is crucial. Ensure your home has an earth connection and complies with all applicable safety standards. Installation must be performed by an authorized technician. Improper installation can lead to serious injury or death by electrocution. The manufacturer is not responsible for malfunctions or damage caused by unsuitable electrical installations.
1. Preparing the Furniture Unit
Figure 1 Description: This section details the preparation of the furniture unit where the oven will be installed. It covers dimensions, material requirements, and necessary cut-outs.
- For built-in units, interior plastic coatings and veneers must use adhesive resistant to 90 °C. Adjacent units require adhesive resistant to 70 °C. Failure to use heat-resistant materials may cause deformation or burning, for which the manufacturer is not liable.
- Cut-outs must be made before oven installation. Remove any wood chippings to prevent interference with oven components.
- The oven connection box must be located in shaded area B or an area that does not obstruct installation.
- Free-standing units must be secured to the wall with a conventional angle (C).
- The oven housing unit requires a ventilation opening at its base.
- If installing the oven below a hob, follow the hob's specific installation instructions.
2. Fitting the Oven in a High Unit
Figure 2 Description: This illustrates installing the oven in a tall cabinet, emphasizing ventilation requirements.
- For ventilation, maintain approximately a 20 mm gap between the lower shelf and the supporting wall, and another 20 mm gap between the upper shelf and the supporting wall.
- A recommended gap of 590 mm between the upper and lower shelves ensures proper ventilation. This can be increased to 595 mm for enhanced ventilation.
- Ovens with pull-out carriage doors should be installed to allow easy removal of baking trays.
3. Assembling the Oven in a Corner
Figure 3 Description: This section covers corner installation, referencing specific dimensions.
- When installing in a corner, consider the dimensions shown in Figure D. For measurements in Figure E, take into account the width of the unit's front and the handle.
4. Connecting the Oven to the Mains
Important Electrical Safety:
- Before first use, verify your home has an earth connection and meets all safety standards. Installation must be by an authorized technician, adhering to regional and national regulations.
- Incorrect installation or lack of earthing can cause serious injury or death. The manufacturer is not liable for improper function or damage due to faulty electrical installations.
- The oven must be disconnected from the mains during all assembly operations.
- The oven has Class I protection and requires an earth connection.
- Use a H05 V V-F 3G 1.5 mm² or higher rated cable.
- Connect the yellow/green earth cable first; it should be longer than other cables.
- Install a main switch with a contact opening of at least 3 mm, unless connecting via an accessible, earthed plug.
- Ensure protection against manual contact during assembly.
- Connect the oven considering the voltage indicated on its rating plate.
- Position the appliance in front of the unit for connection. The connection cable must be long enough.
- Warning: Ensure the connection cable is not trapped during installation and does not touch hot oven parts.
- Any work on the appliance, including power cable replacement, must be done by Technical Service.
5. Positioning the Oven in the Unit
Figure 4 Description: This shows the final placement and securing of the oven within the furniture unit.
- For ovens with pull-out carriage doors, remove the door first.
- Push the oven completely into the unit opening. Ensure the cable is not damaged by sharp edges, does not touch hot parts, and does not run along the bottom of the oven.
- Center the oven and secure it with the supplied screws (4x25).
- If the unit was built to the specified dimensions, a gap will remain at the top of the oven. Do not cover this gap with wooden slats to allow adequate ventilation.
- Maintain at least a 5 mm gap between the appliance and adjacent units.
6. Dismantling
To remove the oven:
- Disconnect the oven from the mains power supply.
- Loosen the screws fastening the oven to the unit.
- Slightly lift the oven and remove it completely from the unit.
