General Information

The GLP iQ.Tool allows management of GLP lighting fixtures via the GLP iQ.Service mobile app. It is available in two versions: the iQ.Tool and the iQ.Tool Pro, which includes a spectral light sensor.

Use the device strictly as described in the operating instructions. Failure to do so may compromise the degree of protection provided by the measuring device.

The iQ.Tool is rated IP 20 and is intended for indoor use only. It must not be allowed to become wet.

Waste Disposal

As a consumer, you are required to return old devices to the manufacturer or a designated collection point for the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment to ensure environmentally-friendly disposal. Please observe current local regulations.

This product and its packaging are made from high-quality, recyclable materials, reducing waste and protecting the environment. Dispose of packaging responsibly at a designated collection point.

This product is labeled according to the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) [recycling symbol]. It contains a non-removable rechargeable battery. Do not dispose of the product with ordinary household waste.

[Warning symbol] Incorrect disposal of batteries poses a hazard to the environment and health!

Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste due to pollutants like heavy metals, which can harm the environment and human health if improperly disposed of. Valuable raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese, or nickel can be recovered from battery waste.

Consumers are legally obligated to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries for environmentally-friendly disposal at retailers or designated collection points according to national or local regulations. This return service is free of charge. Contact your city council or local authority for addresses of suitable collection points.

Do not leave batteries or devices containing them lying around carelessly. Separate collection and recycling of batteries and rechargeable batteries significantly contributes to reducing environmental impact and preventing health risks.

Get Ready to Start!

  1. Fully charge the GLP iQ.Tool using the included USB-C cable and a standard USB charger. The status LED G will flash red during charging. The status LED H will light constant green when charging is complete.
  2. Download and install the GLP iQ.Service app:
    • Available on the [Microsoft Store]
    • Available on the [Apple App Store]
    • Available on [Google Play Store]
  3. Start the iQ.Service app. If you do not have an account, register by clicking 'Register' and following the on-device instructions.

Connecting to the iQ.Service App

  1. Switch on the iQ.Tool by holding button B for 3 seconds until the green status LED E lights continuously.
  2. Start the GLP iQ.Service app on your device.
  3. Optional: Perform any library updates if prompted.
  4. On the app's previous page illustration (refer to device diagram), select the 'Discover' page at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Swipe down from the center of the screen to initiate scanning.
  6. After successful scanning, the iQ.Tool will appear in the list of recognized devices.
  7. Click the icon to connect directly to the iQ.Tool.

Using the iQ.Tool

To use the iQ.Tool, connect its XLR connector to the DMX IN socket of the fixture or daisy-chain of fixtures you wish to manage. Then, switch on the iQ.Tool and connect it to the iQ.Service app as described above.
