Huawei AR100, AR120, and AR200 Series Enterprise Routers Datasheet
Realize Your Potential Huawei's next-generation routers, the AR100, AR120, and AR200 series are designed for enterprise branch offices and small businesses. They deliver a comprehensive set of services, including routing, switching, voice, security, and wireless access. The AR100, AR120, and AR200 series are fixed interface routers that provide a comprehensive platform for a variety of network topologies, including IMS, NGN, WAN, and PSTN. These routers employ embedded hardware encryption for security and a voice Digital Signal Processor (DSP) for voice services. They are mature, stable, and quiet, offering high-performance functionality for small networks, enabling small businesses to greatly increase productivity at a lower cost. AR100s, AR120s, and AR200s are easy to deploy, configure, and customize, greatly reducing deployment and maintenance costs while offering maximum value. These models allow network administrators to expand their networks easily and quickly, saving time and costs. The routers support firewalls, call processing, and application program functionalities. The AR100, AR120, and AR200 series includes the following models: The specifications for these models are shown in the following tables. This illustrates an example deployment in branch networks for WAN access. In this scenario, the AR100s, AR120s, and AR200s function as egress routers on enterprise branch networks, providing multiple access methods including Ethernet, xDSL, 3G, LTE, and WLAN. The diagram shows a Headquarters (AR3200) connected via WAN to multiple branches, each utilizing AR100/AR120/AR200 for connectivity, with various link types like ADSL2+/G.SHDSL/FE/GE, 3G/LTE, and WLAN indicated. The AR120 series routers provide integrated voice, fax, and IP services. They can function as SIP access gateways for enterprise branch offices, transforming traditional phone signals into Voice over IP (VoIP). Typically, AR120s are connected upstream from IMS and NGN networks to enable voice communication on any media (phones, handsets, computers). The diagram shows an AR120 deployed at a branch office, connected to a WAN and PSTN. The PSTN serves as a backup for the WAN, ensuring uninterrupted call services. It also depicts the AR120 acting as an IP PBX with features like enterprise main number, IVR, and billing query, and as a SIP server for reliable voice services, ensuring communication continuity even if the headquarters' SIP server is unreachable. The setup includes connections to IP Phones and FAX machines. This section describes how to deploy AR100s, AR120s, and AR200s using VPNs to connect branches and partners to headquarters securely. The routers support various VPN tunnel protocols such as GRE VPN, IPSec VPN, DSVPN, and L2TP VPN, ensuring secure communications between enterprise branches, other branch offices, and partners accessing enterprise resources. The diagram illustrates a central Headquarters (AR3200) connected via various VPN protocols (IPSEC VPN, GRE VPN, L2TP VPN, DSVPN) to remote sites like a Branch (AR100/AR120/AR200), a Partner, and a Hotel (VPN Client). The routers support fast tunnel setup and authentication. The AR100s and AR120s routers comply with 3G and LTE standards (HSPA+, FDD LTE), meeting wireless communication requirements between branches and headquarters. The 3G or LTE data link can serve as a backup for wired links (xDSL, FE/GE) to protect connectivity and improve network stability while reducing construction costs. Some AR100s and AR120s models are dual-SIM devices, offering dual SIM standby and allowing manual switching between SIM cards based on network standards. The device can also switch to a backup SIM card when the signal is weak to prevent link interruption. The AR100s and AR120s routers integrate WLAN wireless access capabilities, supporting 802.11a/b/g/n standard communication. The built-in AC (Access Controller) function simplifies deployment and management. These wireless features meet user demands for wireless access and help enterprises build flexible branch networks. The diagram shows a Headquarters (AR3200) connected via WAN to branches. Branches use AR100/AR120 for wired links and 3G/LTE wireless access. Another diagram illustrates a Headquarters (AR3200) and a large-scale branch. The branch uses AR120/AR200 routers with integrated AC functionality to manage multiple Access Points (APs) for wireless LAN, providing centralized management of wired and wireless networks. The AR120s and AR200s routers integrate AC (Access Controller) functionality, enabling them to manage wireless APs (Access Points) in a wireless LAN. AR routers support rich certification and flexible user access control, providing secure access for Wi-Fi users. The integrated wireless capabilities in a single device allow for centralized management of both wired and wireless networks, meeting the requirements of enterprises of various scales. The following tables detail the software features for each series. The AR100, AR120, and AR200 series routers require two types of configuration modules: Basic software configuration and Software license configuration. Basic software configuration modules provide functions like routing, switching, voice, and security. Software license configuration modules offer additional functions, such as AC capabilities. Huawei Professional Services provides expert network design and service optimization tasks, helping customers design and deploy a high-performance network that is reliable and secure, maximizing return on investment as well as reducing operational expenses.
