1. Contents

Attach the battery to the main unit, then attach the cleaner head or tool. The included cleaner head may vary depending on the model.

Recommended: Be careful not to let the charging terminals of the charger or charging dock come into contact with conductive materials such as carbon fiber. Remove the charger from the main unit when cleaning the product.

2. Getting Started

Power Button and Modes:

Operating Modes:

Before Use: Charge on the charging dock.

Place the unit back on the dock so that the LCD display faces forward.

Connecting to a Smartphone: Download the MyDyson™ app from the App Store or Google Play. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new account. Connect to the app by scanning the QR code displayed on the product's LCD screen or by searching for the product in the MyDyson™ app. Operate the smartphone near the main unit and press the power button to start pairing. Once paired, follow the app's instructions to set your language and register your manufacturer's warranty.

3. LCD Display

The LCD display shows the current operating mode, remaining run time, and maintenance alerts.

Operating Modes: You can select the operating mode using the mode selection button. Start cleaning by pressing the power on/off button.

Alerts (Warnings): The display shows alerts when the product detects an abnormality.

Run Time and Battery: The remaining run time is always displayed. The Dyson Pencil Vac™ has a maximum run time of 30 minutes* and is powered by a removable battery. You can purchase additional batteries to extend cleaning time by visiting www.dyson.co.jp. *Maximum run time when using a non-motorized tool in Eco mode, measured according to JEMA standards (HD-10).

4. Downloading the MyDyson™ App

Download the MyDyson™ app from the App Store or Google Play. Open the app and follow the instructions to set up your account.

4. Starting Cleaning with the MyDyson™ App

Connecting to a Smartphone: Scan the QR code on the product's LCD display or search for the product in the MyDyson™ app. Operate your smartphone near the main unit and press the power on/off button to begin pairing. Once paired, follow the app's instructions to set your language and register your warranty.

5. Emptying the Clear Bin

Empty the clear bin when the debris reaches the MAX line.

To Empty: Hold the main unit with the clear bin pointing downwards. Press the red button on the clear bin and slide it up and down about three times until the debris is compacted. Then, slide the clear bin up and down to empty the contents.

Removing the Clear Bin: If debris cannot be fully emptied, press the red button on the separator located on the back of the product, remove the clear bin from the main unit, and empty it.

Reattaching the Clear Bin: Align the clear bin with the main unit and slide it in. Push the bottom of the clear bin upwards until it clicks into place, ensuring it is securely locked.

Cleaning the Clear Bin: Do not put parts of this product in a dishwasher. Do not use detergents, abrasive cleaners, or air fresheners, as this may damage the product. If the clear bin needs cleaning, follow the instructions in "Emptying the Clear Bin" to empty it first. Press the red button on the back of the clear bin to release it, then slide it out. Wash the clear bin with tap water and wipe it dry with a lint-free cloth. Ensure the clear bin and rubber parts are completely dry before reattaching. To reattach, align the grooves on the clear bin and the main unit, then slide it in. Push the bottom of the clear bin upwards until it clicks into place.

6. Cleaning the Fluffycones™ Cleaner Head

Removing the Rotating Brush: Lift the plastic cover on the top of the cleaner head and remove it. Twist and pull the fixed rotating brush to remove it.

Washing the Rotating Brush: Rinse the rotating brush under tap water, gently rubbing to remove dirt and debris. Squeeze out excess water, stand the brush upright, and allow it to dry completely for at least 24 hours.

Reattaching the Rotating Brush: Once the rotating brush is completely dry, align the colored plastic part of the brush with the corresponding colored part on the cleaner head and reinsert it. Gently press the plastic cover down until it clicks into place on the cleaner head.

Cleaning Charging Contacts: Wipe the charging contacts with a lint-free cloth wrung out in water. Ensure the connection points are completely dry.

7. Cleaning the Micro Fluffy™ Cleaner Head

The rotating brush of the Micro Fluffy™ cleaner head can be washed. Regularly check and clean the rotating brush to keep your product in optimal condition. Ensure the product is not connected to the charger and avoid touching the power button.

Do not put parts of this product in a dishwasher. Do not use detergents, abrasive cleaners, or air fresheners, as this may damage the product.

Removing the Rotating Brush: Press the red button on the tip of the pipe and cleaner head, then remove the cleaner head. Open the end cap on the side of the cleaner head and remove the rotating brush. Remove the end cap from the rotating brush and clear any hair. Do not wash the end cap.

Washing and Drying the Rotating Brush: Rinse under tap water, gently rubbing to remove dirt and debris. Wash until the water runs clear. Stand the brush upright and allow it to dry completely for at least 24 hours.

Reattaching the Rotating Brush: Once completely dry, reattach the rotating brush. Attach the end cap to the rotating brush, slide it onto the cleaner head, and turn the end cap to the lock position.

Parts of the cleaner head other than the rotating brush cannot be washed with water. Wipe with a lint-free cloth wrung out in water.

Cleaning Charging Contacts: Avoid touching the charging contact terminals. Wipe with a lint-free cloth wrung out in water. Ensure the connection points are completely dry.

8. Cleaning the Filter

Remove the cleaner head and clear bin. Press the red button on the tip of the pipe and cleaner head to remove the cleaner head. Press the red button on the connection between the pipe and clear bin, then pull out the clear bin from the main unit.

Removing and Cleaning the Filter: Press the red button on the top of the pipe and remove the filter from the product. Slide it down to separate the filter into a mesh filter and a pleated filter. Gently tap both the mesh and pleated filters in a dustbin to remove loose debris and dust. Wash the mesh and pleated filters thoroughly under tap water. Continue rinsing until the water runs clear. Shake off excess water from the mesh and pleated filters and dry them for at least 24 hours. You can perform a simple cleaning by tapping the filter to remove excess debris, but it is recommended to wash it with water at least once a month.

Reattaching the Filter: Align the bottom of the filter and firmly press the mesh filter into the pleated filter. Return the filter to its original position on the pipe. Reattach the clear bin and then the cleaner head to the main unit.

9. Tool Maintenance

Do not put tools in a dishwasher. Do not use detergents, abrasive cleaners, or air fresheners, as this may damage the product. Wipe tools with a lint-free cloth wrung out in water. Ensure tools are completely dry before use.

Included tools may vary by model. Please check the contents listed on the product box.

10. Removing Blockages

A warning will appear on the LCD display if a blockage is detected. The product cannot be used until the blockage is removed. Do not touch the power button when removing a blockage. Be careful, as sharp objects may be caught. Allow the product to cool down before checking for blockages. Check the cleaner head for blockages and remove the rotating brush if necessary to inspect. Before reusing, ensure all blockages are removed and all parts are correctly reassembled.

Removing Hair and Debris: Press the red button on the underside of the cleaner head and remove the baffle (the internal partition of the Fluffycones™ cleaner head) to remove any obstructions. After removing the obstruction, replace the baffle in its original position.

11. Anti-tangle Screw Tool Maintenance

The rotating brush of the anti-tangle screw tool cannot be washed. Regularly inspect the rotating brush and remove any debris or dust to maintain performance. Avoid touching the power button on the main unit during maintenance.

Removing the Cover and Rotating Brush: Detach the anti-tangle screw tool from the pipe or main unit. Push the red lever on the side downwards to loosen the cover, then remove it.

Checking for Blockages: Pull the rotating brush to remove it from the main unit. Check all three disassembled parts for and remove any obstructions. The anti-tangle screw tool cannot be washed with water. Wipe with a lint-free cloth wrung out in water. Do not put parts of this product in a dishwasher. Do not use detergents, abrasive cleaners, or air fresheners, as this may damage the product.

Reassembling the Anti-tangle Screw Tool: Reinsert the rotating brush into the main unit until it clicks into place. Ensure the red lever is in the unlocked position. Align the cover with the tool body and replace it. Push down until it clicks. Push the red lever upwards until it clicks. Replace the base plate in its correct position.

12. Product Disassembly

Disassembling the Main Unit: For storage or packing, remove the cleaner head and battery from the main unit as shown in the diagram.

Disassembling the Charging Dock: Press the two catches on the underside of the base inwards and pull the pole part of the charging dock away from the base.

13. Product Care

Product Care: To keep your product in optimal condition, perform regular maintenance. If the main unit is dirty, wipe it with a lint-free cloth wrung out in water.

About the Battery: To maintain strong suction, use Boost mode only when necessary to prolong battery life and keep it in optimal condition. The battery in this product is designed to charge using the charging dock and to stop charging once fully charged. To maintain battery life, return the unit to the charging dock after cleaning.
