Firmware Upgrade Guide for CLEARSURE PC

Introduction

Fujitsu Security Solution CLEARSURE is a data and device protection solution designed for notebook PCs. It allows remote deletion of data or locking of the PC, even when powered off, offering robust protection against information leaks if a notebook is lost or stolen. This guide provides instructions on how to upgrade the device firmware to make your system CLEARSURE-ready. Supported Models

This guide applies to the following Fujitsu models:

• Fujitsu LIFEBOOK E734/E744/E754 (Windows 7 / Windows 8.1)
• Fujitsu LIFEBOOK S904 (Windows 7 / Windows 8.1)
• Fujitsu LIFEBOOK T904 (Windows 7 / Windows 8.1)
• Fujitsu Stylistic Q704 (Windows 7 / Windows 8.1)

Firmware Upgrade Procedure

Two critical firmware components must meet the following requirements:

• EM8805/EM7305 WWAN module with firmware version 05.05.26.00 or later
• Motherboard EC firmware version 1372 or later

Updating EM8805/EM7305 WWAN Module Firmware

1. Plug in the AC adapter to your system.
2. Download the appropriate WWAN module firmware for your system.

How to Identify the WWAN Module

To identify your WWAN module, follow these steps:

1. Open the "AirCard Watcher" application.
2. Click the "Menu" button.
3. Select "About..." from the menu.
4. In the "About AirCard Watcher" window, select "Device - Hardware".

This will display the hardware details, including the WWAN Module information such as revision, device type (e.g., EM8805), serial number, and manufacturer.

Upgrade Steps

1. Decompress the downloaded ZIP file.
2. Close the "AirCard Watcher" application.
3. Execute the "setup.exe" file.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade. This process may take approximately 10 minutes.
5. Important: Do not power off the system or make any RF ON/OFF or WWAN connection changes until the upgrade is completed.

Updating Motherboard EC Firmware

1. Plug in the AC adapter to your system.
2. Download the appropriate EC firmware for your system.

Upgrade Steps

1. Close all running applications.
2. Decompress the downloaded ZIP file.
3. Based on your device, open either the "vPro_System" or "non-vPro_System" folder (if applicable).
4. Based on your Operating System, open either the "For_32bit_OS" or "For_64bit_OS" folder.
5. Execute "FjFirmUpdU.exe".
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade.
