User Guide and Specifications

Power ON/OFF

The FiiO FW5 are true wireless Bluetooth earbuds designed for portable audio. The product includes the earbuds and a charging case.

Power On and Connect: When using the FW5 for the first time, opening the charging case activates the earbuds. The white indicator lights on both units will stay on for approximately 3 seconds, after which the FW5 will power on automatically and enter Bluetooth pairing mode. Your device can then search for and connect to "FiiO FW5". For subsequent uses, the earbuds will automatically reconnect to the last paired device upon powering on.

Charging When Powered Off: Place both earbuds into the charging case and close the lid. The FW5 will automatically power off and begin charging. A note advises to tear off the adhesive insulation paper on the metal contacts before the first use.

Indicator Lights of FW5 Earbuds

The earbuds feature indicator lights to display their status:

Continuously on: Indicates the unit is powered on.
Flashing: Indicates pairing mode. This can be TWS pairing mode (pairing between the left and right earbuds) or standard Bluetooth pairing mode for connecting to a device.
OFF: Indicates the unit is powered off or charging.

TWS Pairing Mode: When the earbuds are in TWS pairing mode, they are pairing with each other and cannot be searched for by external devices.

Instructions for Buttons

Each earbud is equipped with two buttons for control:

Left Unit:

Secondary Button (A):
- Click: Volume Down / Answer a call
- Long press for ~1s: Previous track / Decline a call / Hang up
- Long press for ~8s: Reset
Primary Button (B):
- Click: Pause / Resume / Answer a call
- Double click: Activate voice assistant
- Long press for ~1s: Decline a call / Hang up
- Long press for ~2s: Power on
- Long press for ~5s: Power off

Right Unit:

Secondary Button (C):
- Click: Volume Up / Answer a call
- Long press for ~1s: Next track / Decline a call / Hang up
- Long press for ~8s: Reset
Primary Button (D):
- Click: Pause / Resume / Answer a call
- Double click: Switch modes (Leak-through mode / Normal mode)
- Long press for ~1s: Decline a call / Hang up
- Long press for ~2s: Power on
- Long press for ~5s: Power off

Indicator Lights of Charging Case

The charging case has LED indicators (LED1, LED2, LED3, LED4) to show the battery status:

Battery Level:
- Full: LED1, LED2, LED3, LED4 are continuously on.
- 75%~100%: LED1, LED2, LED3 are continuously on.
- 50%~75%: LED1, LED2 are continuously on.
- 25%~50%: LED1 is continuously on.
- 0%~25%: LED1 flashes.
Charging/Discharging (Case Open/Close, FW5 inside):
- When the battery level is between 0% and 5%, LED1 will flash for 4 seconds and then turn off.
- At other battery levels, the corresponding indicator lights will be on for 4 seconds and then turn off.

FiiO Control App

The FiiO FW5 can be controlled using the FiiO Control APP. Download the app by searching for "FiiO Control" in your app market. The app supports features such as Over-The-Air (OTA) upgrades and volume adjustment.

Notes and Precautions

It is recommended to charge the device using a standard 5V charger or a charger capable of outputting 1A current or above.
Please avoid placing the device in environments with excessive high or low temperatures (above 45°C or below 0°C).
Bluetooth wireless technology has an effective working range of approximately 10 meters. Transmission distance can be affected by obstacles such as human bodies, metal objects, walls, and electromagnetic environments, potentially leading to audio interruptions or loss.
Prolonged use at high volumes may result in permanent hearing loss. Switching between audio sources might cause sudden volume changes. It is advised to lower the headphone volume before wearing the earbuds.
If the device is to be left unused for an extended period, please recharge it periodically to maintain battery health.
Do not use the battery if it has been submerged in water, if it is severely swollen, or if it has been subjected to disassembly, impact, squeezing, or fire.

Force into Pairing Mode

To force the FW5 into pairing mode: Turn off the FW5. Long press buttons B (Left Primary) and D (Right Primary) simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds. When the white light on the unit stays on for about 3 seconds and then flashes quickly, it has been forced into pairing mode.
