Installation Instructions
Step 1: Change User Code
If you wish to change your code, refer to the instructions provided separately on changing the user code.
Step 2: Prepare Door for Installation with Template
Note: For pre-drilled 2 1/8" doors, only the top hole may need drilling.
a. Place the supplied template on the door and fold it along the door's edge.
b. Mark the locations for the 2 3/8" or 2 3/4" backset.
c. Drill holes as instructed by the template.
Diagram Description: Templates are provided for door preparation, showing the outline of the lock body, hole positions, and dimensions for drilling. They include instructions to fold along the door edge and mark hole centers for the deadbolt and spindle, with markings for different backsets (e.g., 2 3/8", 2 3/4"). The templates also indicate measurements for the 25mm deadbolt hole.
Step 3: Identify Door Handing
Diagram Description: Diagram 1 and Diagram 2 visually illustrate how to identify door handing. Right-hand doors have hinges on the right when viewed from the exterior. Left-hand doors have hinges on the left from the exterior.
a. The 2210/3210 is factory set for right-hand doors.
b. To change the handing: remove the two blue screws and the cover plate from the Outside Body. Move the handing pin to the hole on the opposite side, then replace the plate and screws.
c. For 2210DC/3210DC (Double Combination) locks, the handing pin on the Inside Body must be set in the opposite position to the Outside Body's handing pin.
Step 4: Install Support Pin & Install Hex Bolts
Diagram Description: Diagram 3 shows the installation of the Brass Support Pin into one of the holes on the Outside Body. It also indicates where Hex Bolts should be installed.
a. Install the Brass Support Pin into either hole on the Outside Body as shown.
b. For additional deadbolt support, insert both support pins.
c. If Hex Bolts were not pre-screwed into the lock, screw them into the top and bottom holes of your lock.
Step 5: Adjust Deadbolt & Install Deadbolt
Diagram Description: Diagram 4 illustrates how to adjust the deadbolt's backset (from 2 3/8" to 2 3/4") by lifting and sliding an adjustable pin. It also shows the correct orientation (arrow UP) for installing the deadbolt into the door.
a. The Adjustable Deadbolt is typically preset to 2 3/8". To adjust to 2 3/4", lift the pin and slide it to the desired position.
b. With the arrow on the Adjustable Deadbolt pointing UP, insert it into the door and secure it using two Wood Screws.
Step 6: Verify Correct Spindle Length
Diagram Description: Diagram 5 demonstrates how to check the spindle length. The spindle is inserted through the installed deadbolt into the inside body, and its extension from the exterior of the door is measured against a gauge indicating the minimum 3/8" and maximum 5/8" requirement.
a. With the Adjustable Deadbolt installed, hold the Inside Body and the Rubber Trim Plate against the interior side of the door.
b. Insert the Spindle through the Adjustable Deadbolt into the Inside Body as far as it will go.
c. The Spindle should extend from the exterior of the door a minimum of 3/8" and a maximum of 5/8".
d. If the 30-45mm Spindle is too long, it can be cut to the correct length.
Important:
- If the spindle extends less than 3/8", it may not properly engage the lock mechanism.
- If the spindle extends more than 5/8", it may cause the lock to bind.
Step 7: Install the 2210/3210 Lock
Diagram Description: Diagram 6 and Diagram 7 show the final installation steps. Diagram 6 illustrates the correct spindle insertion angles for right-hand (2:00/8:00) and left-hand (10:00/4:00) doors. Diagram 7 provides an overall view of the lock assembly process.
a. Place the Rubber Trim Plate onto the backside of the Outside Body.
b. Hold the Outside Body against the exterior of the door. Ensure the Hex Bolts align with and extend into the top and bottom holes. The Support Pin(s) should extend through the hole(s) in the Adjustable Deadbolt.
c. While holding the Outside Body in place, insert the Spindle from the interior side of the door into the Outside Body. The insertion angle depends on the door handing:
- For Right-hand doors: Insert the Spindle at the 2:00/8:00 position.
- For Left-hand doors: Insert the Spindle at the 10:00/4:00 position.
d. Using a screwdriver, secure the lock to the door using the appropriate length screws, considering the door's thickness.
e. Test the lock's operation by turning the inside knob.
f. Determine where the Deadbolt strikes the door frame and install the Mortised Striker and Strike Plate accordingly.
How to Use Your Lock

How to Change Your User Code
- Using a #2 screwdriver, remove the 4 red screws.
- Carefully remove the cover plate. Warning: Springs are attached to the cover plate.
- Press and HOLD the 'C' Button to release the tumblers.
Important: The 'C' Button must remain held down while removing and inserting tumblers. Failure to do so may damage the lock and void the warranty. - While holding the 'C' Button, remove or add tumblers to create your desired code. Ensure the colored end of the tumbler faces up.
- DO NOT FORCE TUMBLERS INTO POSITION. Ensure tumblers are inserted correctly by aligning the raised bump on the tumbler's face with the channeled slot in the lock. Note that the channel is on opposite sides in each column. (Refer to the diagram for correct tumbler orientation).
- After setting your code, release the 'C' Button to secure the tumblers.
- Replace the cover plate and secure it with the 4 red screws.
- Test your new user code before installing or re-installing the lock.
Important Note for Double Combination Locks: These locks do not come with the same user code set on both sides by default. If you require matching codes, you must set them on each side individually.
