Battery Installation

To install the battery:

  1. Open the battery compartment cover.
  2. Install the 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity (➕ and ➖).
  3. Gently pull the auxiliary strap ? to remove the battery.
  4. Insert the extra auxiliary strap ? back into the compartment before closing the cover ?.

Operation Modes

Power On

Press the ⚡ button for one second to power on. The device defaults to Metal Detection mode.

Metal Detection

Ferrous Metal Detection:

  • Maximum detection depth: 100mm.
  • Accuracy is best with standard steel-reinforced copper pipes (18mm diameter).
  • When an object is detected, the yellow or red indicator lights up.
  • If the detector displays a ?, the object is generally steel.
  • If the detector displays [non-ferrous metal symbol], the object is generally a wire or copper tube.
  • When the center of the object is detected, a buzzer ? will sound.
  • Detection requires the device to be lightly close to the wall and moved at a constant speed [speed ≤ 6cm/s].
  • The percentage indicator [%] on the LCD screen gradually increases as the edge of the object is approached, reaching 100% at the center.

Non-magnetic Metal Detection:

  • Maximum detection depth: 80mm.
  • Detection method is the same as for ferrous metals.

Wood Stud Detection

Suitable for detection on gypsum boards.

  • Turn on wood detection mode with a [short press] of the wood studs button.
  • Long press the wood studs button for 3 seconds to switch depth modes (Exact/Deep).
  • Detection requires the device to be in constant contact with the wall and moved at a constant speed [speed ≤ 4cm/s].
  • When the center is detected, the buzzer ? will sound.
  • The green light ? flashes and a beep ? sounds when the center is detected.
  • The percentage indicator [%] shows the proximity to the center.

AC Wire Detection

Maximum detection depth of a live cable: 50mm (reduced if not charged).

  • Switch to detection connection mode [switch mode] by pressing the [detect wire/metal button].
  • When a wire is detected, a ⚡ will appear on the LCD screen.
  • When the AC power symbol flashes, it means AC power is nearby.
  • If AC power is detected along with other objects (metal or wood), the AC power symbol will be displayed. The red light ? flashes and emits a rapid tone ? to indicate a potential hazard.
  • Live cables can be detected in both metal mode and foreign object mode (≥4mm²).

Warning: If the wall contains wires, pay attention to safety. Turn off power, gas, and water before drilling ⚠️.

Calibration

Calibration is necessary whenever the instrument displays a signal or if alarms occur in all corners of the room (due to high humidity or static electricity).

Metal Mode Calibration:

At the current position (on the wall or in the air), press and hold the [detect wire/metal button] for 5 seconds. A green light ? will turn on, indicating successful calibration.

Wood Mode Calibration:

Attach the device to the wall, ensuring no object is present in the detection area for calibration. The display percentage should show [0%] with no AC icon. Long press the [wood studs button] for 2 seconds. A green light ? and a beep ? will confirm successful calibration. Release the button to continue detection.

Cable Mode Calibration:

If there is an alarm sound in every corner of the room, this may be due to high humidity or strong static electricity on the wall. At the current position (on the wall or in the air), long press the ⚡ button to calibrate. The green light ? will turn on, and the signal strength percentage will display [0%]. Release the button to continue detection.

Conditions Affecting Measurement Depth

  • Behind metal objects.
  • Behind surfaces with high water content/humidity.
  • Concrete, brick, or ceramic surfaces that may have a shielding effect on signals.

Terms and Conditions

This detector can find metals (rebars, copper pipes) and cables in walls, ceilings, and floors, as well as wooden beams, metals, and cables under plaster.

Ensure the detection area is dry before starting.

Working Humidity Range:

  • Ferrous metals: 0-85%RH
  • Foreign object mode (wood): 0-60%RH
  • Alternating current mode: 0-30%RH

Usage Precautions: Avoid sunlight, avoid moisture, avoid wearing jewelry, and avoid getting close to home appliances [usage tips].

Important Safety Information

When detecting AC power with other objects, or when AC power is detected with metal or wood stud, the AC power symbol will be displayed. The red light ? flashes and emits a rapid tone ? to alert you. If the wall contains wires, pay close attention to safety. Always turn off the power, gas, and water supply before drilling into walls ⚠️.
