Safety Precautions
- Ensure that only a qualified electrician installs and services this cable reel. It must not be used by children or unskilled persons.
- Ensure that the power supply voltage does not exceed the maximum voltage rating of the reel.
- Ensure that the reel is properly installed before connecting to the power supply.
- Ensure that all electrical power is removed from the reel before servicing.
- Check for frayed and broken wires before each use.
- When pulling the electrical cable from the reel, always grasp the electrical cable itself, not the work device.
- Remove power from the reel immediately when any malfunction occurs.
- Never remove, tamper with, or cut the safety devices fitted by the manufacturer.
- Do not use the reel in damp or wet conditions. Keep the work area clean. Avoid placing sundries on the reel.
Installation
- Unpack and inspect the reel for damage. Turn by hand to check for smooth operation and completeness.
- The cable reel must be installed in premises conforming to current regulations and standards covering systems and work environments.
- Secure the cable reel to the wall and the ceiling according to the installation diagrams. Appropriate hardware for mounting must be purchased separately. Use screw anchors or suitable screws fitted into the brackets.
- The reel base has three 8.5mm drilled holes for mounting on a suitable flat surface.
- Using these three holes in the base, mount the reel in the desired location. Ensure appropriate hardware is used and tightened securely.
- If cable stopper adjustment is required, pull the cable form the reel and allow it to latch at the desired length. Loosen the stopper bolts, and slide the stopper to a position close to the cable guide. Tighten the stopper bolts, and unlatch the reel.
- Double adjustment function: Adjust the latch spring to the left position to lock the cable at any desired length. Adjust the latch spring to the opposite position for a non-lock function, allowing the cable to be freely moved.
Diagrams illustrating wall and ceiling mounting are provided.
Operation
- Check the reel for correct operation by slowly pulling out the cable. A "clicking" noise will be heard every half revolution of the drum.
- To latch the reel, pull out the cable and allow it to retract after hearing the first, second, or third "click".
- To unlatch, slowly pull out the cable until the “clicking” noise stops, then let the cable retract until the cable stopper rests against the cable guide.
- If the reel is overloaded, the thermal cut-out will activate automatically. Push the red button to restore operation.
- If necessary, adjust the spring tension on the reel by adding or removing wraps of cable from the spool, one wrap at a time, until the desired tension is obtained. Add wraps to increase tension; remove wraps to decrease tension.
Note: To avoid damage to the reel, always hold onto the cable while it is rewinding.
Diagrams illustrating the latch mechanism (ON/OFF) are provided.
Maintenance
- Ensure the cable is in proper working order.
- Clean the cable with a cloth dipped in warm water to remove dirt or deposits and ensure correct rewinding.
- Do not use detergents or solvents that may be incompatible with the cable-winder materials.
- Dismantling the unit by unskilled personnel could be hazardous due to the risk associated with preloaded springs.
Limited Warranty
The manufacturer warrants this cable reel against defects in material and craftsmanship for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase. This warranty excludes the cable and socket.
The manufacturer's liability is limited to the replacement or repair of defective material within the warranty period, when returned freight prepaid to the distributor or their designated service depot.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, misuse, or faulty installation.
