Premier Pet 300 Yard Trainer

Model: GDT00-16298 | Product Manual

How it Works

The Premier Pet® Remote Trainer is designed to help stop undesirable behaviors and teach your dog good behaviors. It features three training modes: tone (beep), vibration, and 99 levels of static stimulation. The remote is easy to use, requiring only a press of the action button to send a signal to the collar. The system can be expanded to a two-dog trainer by adding a second collar (sold separately). The training collar is waterproof.

  • Tone: Emits a beep to get your dog's attention or mark a specific behavior.
  • Vibration: Provides a vibration to the training collar.
  • Static Stimulation: Delivers a stimulation with adjustable intensity across 99 levels.

General Safety Warnings

  • Do not use this product if your dog is prone to aggressive behavior, as this can lead to severe injury. Consult a veterinarian or certified trainer if unsure about suitability.
  • The device contains Lithium-Ion batteries. Do not incinerate, puncture, deform, short-circuit, or charge with an inappropriate charger, as this may cause fire, explosion, property damage, or bodily harm.
  • During on-leash training, ensure your pet is on a strong leash and physically restrained to prevent chasing objects near hazards.
  • This product is not a toy and should be kept away from children.

Collar Fit and Pet Safety

  • Proper collar fit is crucial. A collar worn too long or too tight can cause skin damage, including redness and pressure ulcers (bed sores).
  • Avoid leaving the collar on for more than 12 hours per day.
  • Reposition the collar on the pet's neck every 1 to 2 hours when possible.
  • Regularly recheck the fit to prevent excessive pressure.
  • You may need to trim hair around the contact points for consistent contact, but never shave the dog's neck, as this can lead to rash or infection.
  • Never attach a leash directly to the training collar, as this can cause excessive pressure. Attach leashes to a separate collar.
  • Wash the dog's neck area and collar contact points weekly with a damp cloth.
  • Examine the contact area daily for signs of rash or sores. Discontinue use if found until healed.
  • If a condition persists beyond 48 hours, consult your veterinarian.

Getting Started

Charging the Collar and Remote

To prolong battery life, charge only when batteries are low.

  1. Lift the cover protecting the charging port and connect the charger to the collar and/or remote.
  2. Plug the other end of the charger into a compatible charging port.
  3. Charge the remote and collar fully. The remote's battery icon will cycle during charging and become solid when full. The collar's LED will be solid red while charging and turn off when fully charged.
  4. Once charged, replace the rubber covers. Ensure the mud plug is in place for the collar to remain waterproof.

Note: The remote is always on; its display activates when a button is pressed.

Turning the Collar On/Off

To Turn the Collar On:

Press and hold the On/Off button until you hear a beep. The LED will flash once quickly, then once every 5 seconds (or every 3 seconds when the battery is low).

To Turn the Collar Off:

Press and hold the On/Off button until the collar beeps, then release. The collar will turn off.

Quick Tip: Turning the collar off when not in use will increase battery life.

Testing the Collar

To test the collar's function:

  1. Ensure the remote is paired with the collar and set to "Dog 1".
  2. Place the Test Light Tool against the collar's contact points.
  3. Press the action button on the remote while in static mode. The test light should flash, indicating the stimulation is working.

Two Dog System

An Add-A-Dog® collar can be purchased separately to expand the system for training a second dog.

Add-A-Dog® Pairing

To pair an additional collar:

  1. Ensure the remote is set to the "Dog 1/2" setting.
  2. Turn the collar to be paired OFF.
  3. Press and hold the collar's On/Off button. The LED will turn on, then off after 4-5 seconds. Release the button when the LED turns off.
  4. On the remote, select "Dog 2".
  5. Press and hold any button on the remote until the collar's LED light flashes 5 times.
  6. Pairing is complete. The trainer is ready for use with two dogs.

Finding the Best Stimulation Level

Important: Always start at the lowest level and gradually increase as needed.

The trainer offers tone, vibration, and 99 static stimulation levels. It is recommended to start training with tone and vibration, or lower static levels.

The "recognition level" is the point at which your dog notices the stimulation without becoming uncomfortable, vocalizing, or panicking. If your dog reacts strongly, reduce the level.

Steps to Find Recognition Level:

  • Select tone or vibration mode and press the action button for 1-2 seconds. Repeat if no reaction is observed before moving to static stimulation.
  • Select Level 1 static stimulation and press the action button for 1-2 seconds. Repeat several times if no reaction is observed before increasing the level.
  • Gradually increase static stimulation levels until your dog reliably responds.
  • If your dog shows no response even at Level 99, check the collar fit. You can also test the collar on your own hand at a lower level to confirm it is working.
  • If stimulation is still not effective after these steps, contact Customer Care.
